  1. Small campaign quirks

Hi Duke, All the pilots in OFF are shown with their final rank, while serving at the Front. We do not currently have any way of advancing them, as they did historically ( and if we did, it would take me another year of writing datafiles to do it - we currently have 1900 historical pilots). It would be nice, but we are struggling as it is. Cheers, shredward
  2. The 46 Sqdn generic is A7333 (Engine No.2228/WD7855) At AAP Coventry 24.3.17, allotted to Expeditionary Force; England to ARS 1 AD 5.4.17; 46 Sqdn (named 'AD ASTRA') 14.5.17; Flown back to England (Sutton's Farm) for HD detachment with Sqdn 10.7.17 and back to France 30.8.17; Left on OP to Menin 09:30, shot down in combat, last seen over Linselles 10:30 3.9.17 (Lt SW Williams PoW) ["Sopwith" claimed in combat east of Wervicq 10.30 by Ltn O Fruhner, Jasta 26?] [or Obltn Oskar Freiherr von Boenigk, Jasta 4] The Sopwith Pup, J.M. Bruce, Gordon Page and Ray Sturtivant Sandbagger did the skin. Cheers, shredward
  3. WWI Wx

I can confim. The weather Over Flanders Fields is taken from weather records from many sources, and it does mimic the weather on the Western Front, day by day. As we, and I want to thank Bletchley, discover more sources of weather records, it is becoming even more accurate, not better, more accurate. The weather over the Front during the war was appalling much of the time; some even say the guns had something to do with it. I doubt it, but there certainly was more 'weather' than 'normal'. 4. Elegy

The melody for this came to Sir Edward Elgar as he came out from under the ether after an operation in the summer of 1918, and he finished it the following summer. It is, in effect, his elegy for those lost in the Great War. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5C99JyP2ns&feature=related Shredward
  5. Found this on The Aerodrome. As it's way outside my ability to help, thought I'd post it here in case anyone knows how to go about solving this gentleman's problem. If you can, please post at The Aerodrome http://www.theaerodr...html#post577317 MCFS3 freezes or Crashes I run Windows XP professional with a CH 568 Combatstick USB. I had MCFS 3 on my system before and it worked fine then. When I got interested in OFF WWI flight sim I reinstalled MCFS 3 so I could install the OFF flight sim. I ran the MCFS 3 as instruced and now it eather freezes or crashes. I tried getting all the updated drivers but that didn't help much. Im not a PC geek so I need someone to help me to fix the problem with MCSF3. Could anyone give me some help to fix this problem? ty much Flying Escadrille
  6. Elegy

No, he was getting on in years by then (born 1857). However, he took the loss of so many very hard. shredward

  9. Gone West

Dan-San Abbott has fought his final battle. Another of the giants of Great War aviation history is gone. Blue Skies Dan.
  10. That skin is actually the unit marking of Jasta 33, but you would be hard pressed to know that unless you saw it from a different angle. I believe the skin is a collaborative of both Makai and Stachel - they certainly worked together on the lozenge schemes, but I believe that particular skin was done by Makai. Cheers, shredward

  23. Ground battles!

When I was a yoot at Camp Borden in the late 60's, there was a Whippet, a Renault, and a MkII in a Memorial Park on the Base. You used to be able to climb up into the Whippet from underneath, which was very cool. I think they are all at the War Museum in Ottawa now. Well worth a visit. Cheers, shredward
