  1. Well the FA-18 in-game is capable of 20G's+ controls are THAT effective, I slightly adjusted that...isn't F-18 FBW eqipped?
  2. Sorry Dave, it just didn't look like something that could get anybody in trouble. In future when I'm uncertain if the thing could be problematic I'll contact you or any of the admin team first.
  3. Well since you've mentioned it, when it comes to WoV it's almost strictly F-105 for me, nothing like going in Mach 1+ at tree tops and let them have some...
  4. 1. F-15's 2. Gripen 3. Su-27 Ofcourse many other's too but theese are apsolute top 3
  5. I experimeted with higher resolutions, when I did my ANW re-paint. Originally they were made in 2048x2048 which would give just slightly less than 1m per pixel which should be VERY good. However, what I didn't take into account is the quality of the texture itself. In the end it turned out that sizing it down to 1024 did not change the looks of it at all, only sizing it down to 512 showed some extremely mild quality reduction to the point of only a sand grain counter would notice, a worthy notice to mention is that tile size didn't affect my FPS AT ALL even though I had only 1GB system ram/128MB gfx ram at the time. At that point I realized that with current satelite imagery available to "mortals" such things are rarely worth the effort, or in other words, areas of such quality are very rare on GoogleEarth. Now as for the mega tiles, to use 64x64Km tile and to get 1mpp you would need 64000x64000 sized tile, that's 411MB, I can't even imagine how long would the terrain load with several of those. However I must admit that terrain variety could dramatically improve with that. The second problem is the terrain mesh, or in our case HFD, which is not very detailed, how would a tile, which would basically be a 2D image of the area, fit onto the HFD... However don't take my skepticzm as a downer, I'm really interested in your ideas and would like to see how and if you can pull it out
  6. If you have a citylist.ini tiling is not a problem ;) EDIT(OT for Wrench): BTW I'm still bleeding my eyes on Korea lol, hope to sent you something this week lol
  7. I'm still working on the tiles for non-WOI users, will need adjusting for Gepards new update so it will take a while, especially since I also have other projects... Well I'm thousands of miles away in Croatia, but thx man, I really appriciate the concern :) I already arranged something so things are cool again :D
  8. Well we can make it simple and ask who doesen't want it released lol. Marc if you don't mind, we would be very happy if you release it :)
  9. the insky.cn guys already made the cockpit looking exactly like that, I guess they are still working on it...
  10. Dude, if you tile the whole terrain tile by tile all on your own, I will build you an Empire State Building sized monument out of toothpicks ;)
  11. Each and every terrain in any flight sim game is using tiles in one way or another, imo SF's uses quite obosolete way that makes significant changes unbelievably hard and irritating task for one person to do. IL2 and LockOn IMO use what is currently the most reasonable way of using tiles for a terrain. Yes I know about FSX and Google Earth possibility but imo that is cr@p, first the amount of textures needed to map even a small country is insane. Second there are practically no two same(weather, time of day, season, etc.) areas on entire planet, other than that there is also the resolution and quality of textures that is in question. Imagine for example starting your flight in beautifull spring enchanted Portugal, only to enter Spain 2mins later that is in late Autmn, as you enter France you have a huge chunk of terrain mapped by satellite pictures taken in 70's-80's that look like hang over went bad from anything other than 30 000m, then as you prepare to land in Germany it's snowy lol Tiles can be made very nicely for SF too, but the amount of time for one single terrain is huge, especially if you are extra concerned with variety, I've figured out that the overall feel of variety is greatly influenced by number of transition tiles, you can make 200 different normal tiles but if you have only 6 basic transition tiles it will still look repetitive... The other reason for repetitiveness is the 4-way seamless demand, that means that EVERY tile has to have all of it's edges exactly the same as other tiles to fit in seamlessly - stay serious and tell me that doesen't F'k up the whole thing ;) Other than all of the above, we could really use more guys on terrains :)
  12. Well anyway, I'm pretty sure this is something only TK can fix...
  13. I compared Alpha object entries between CA_Stary's GH2 DATA.ini and new WoV data.ini and they are quite different however - using new entries does not help. As for TW forum for osme strange reason I can't access it right now
  14. LOL relax man, here's my way of sorting things with this game: 1. Try to solve it on your own 2. If #1 fails consult other people on CA 3. If both, #1 and #2 fail, go bitch on TW forums for TK to see and fix it :D Seriously though I have no doubt this was simply a mishap and will be solved ;)
  15. Hmm this does not seem like it will be simple, I really need to instal WoE because it, unlike WoV has some trees by default...
  16. Exactly, guys I haven't had the time to even install the new patches yet, so if you give me some time be sure I'll try to do something about it ASAP
  17. OMG labels!!!! Finally I'll see the bastards, can't wait to try it out :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
  18. Yeah well...I'll try to fix that, if I prove to be incompetent for it(very likely lol) I'll try to beg it out of Fubar lol
  19. The Cobra Maneuver

This is kinda weird, why looking at it as an "oh sh*t there's F/A-256GT BI TURBO with 25 Aim-9XXX and 16 plasma cannons 50m behind on my six" kind of manouver? You can avoid overshootin the plane YOU are attacking for example because you loose massive amounts of speed that way, also with a J-turn which is basically a horizontal cobra you can switch directions by extreme ange VERY quickly and point the seeker where conventional plane couldn't in given situation. Yes sure in a modern combat VVR means things already went wrong, but when they do and sooner or later they will, I would certainly like to have that asset with me...
  20. Speaking of FM's, the new F-15's have some probs, I noticed it immidiately but...it seems I am greatest F-15 nut here to actually do notice such a stuff... :D Anyway F-15C MSIP and latest version of F-15E, have a nasty problem at about Mach 2.21, when you hit that speed the plane starts a violent pitch down(just noted -8,73G's) and after a few secs it explodes :helpsmilie: NOTE: on hard mode and it did not happen before the patch...
  21. That's Edwards Photoreal GermanyCE re-paint :)
  22. Looks somking hot, unfortunetly I have no time. Hope you get good testers :)

*****GermanyCE Terrain Tiles REPAINT v1.0***** by Brain32 Terrain objects, trees and houses by CA_Stary 1.Requirements - Wings Over Europe are required in order for this mod to work!!! 2. Installation. Un-ZiP "GermanyCE" folder into terrain folder(X:\....\Wings Over Europe\Terrain) of your Wings Over Vietnam installation. As before with my VietnamSEA repaint I offer trees and objects in separate folder to enable simpler instalation for users that either don't want it or can't take the performance hit :) To install the trees and objects, simply copy all the files from "Objects" folder to x:\...\Wings Over Europe\Terrain\GermanyCE. 2. Overview. The tiles are made with help of satelite imagery taken mostly from central - west Germany, mountain tiles were taken from Alps area, and shoreline tiles...well, from German coast lol. Nothing was hand drawn, all those shapes exist in nature but were violently connected together so they fit... 3. Known issues First ofcourse it will have some errors, however the number of those is on par with default terrain if not even better, if however you do find some eye-poking errors please report them with a small image in file announcment thread. Again same as with VietnamSEA, I didn't work much with the cities, you will notice some improvement in transition city texture but nothing dramatic, it is planned for future update though I simply didn't have time for it now and didn't want a completely functional mod sit on my HDD for maybe months at 99% completition 4. Did I forgot something? I sure hope not...
  24. Don't worry guys, I have it under control ;). Thx for the support :)
