File Name: SF2 HAF F-4E_SRA File Submitter: ace888 File Submitted: 14 April 2011 File Category: SF2 Series Add On Aircraft SF2 HAF F-4E_SRA Short History: During Operation Desert Storm in 1991, Greece played a secondary role with its Hellenic Navy Kortenaer Frigate 'Elli'. As a gesture of gratitude, the Bush Administration supplied the HAF with, among other equipment, a further 28 refurbished and upgraded F-4Es, Which came from the Indiana ANG's 113th and 163rd Tactical Figher Wings. The ex-ANG models, knows as South Eastern Regional Amendament (SRA) among the Greek crews, were aging but extremely capable aircrafts. All the F-4E_SRA were passed to 338 Squadron, which expanded its air-to-ground role. During the HAF Peace Icarus 2000 program, all the F-4E_SRA from the 338 squadron were transferred to the 337 squadron. In 2004 with the defence budget cuts, a number of fighters were withdrawn - including the 26 remaining F-4E_SRA Phantoms. The last flight of the 337 squadron's SRA Phantom took place on May 29, 2006 when squadron commander Lt Col. Theodoros Syrmos deliverd his aircraft to Mikra Internation Airport, Thessaloniki for storage. This is for SF2 merged install. Hello All, This question goes out to those who are using GIMP for skinning on aircraft. I have tried and read on how to make silver or metal color for aircraft skin. I am unable, so far..., to get the sliver color that I want? Can someone who knows how to make the silver color using GIMP share their knowledge on the forum? Thanks

To all the Experts! Thanks again for sharing your knowledge. I am on a trip.. unable to test anything on an aircraft. I have been testing the looks of it using the GIMP program on my laptop. I have been using a medium grey as background and base color. Using the selection of 'Color- colorize' and 'Filter- noise/RGB noise. I think I have come up with a silver color? Looks good on a .bmp format but unable to test it to see if it will look proper on an aircraft? I have also try multi. layer format. Bacground- base color (grey)- black- white- base color (copy#1 with about 54 opacity)- base color (copy#2 with about 50 or less opacity). The black and white are in different areas of the base color so to let it look like a different metal or silver finish on the skin. On top of all these, I did the colorize and noise/RGB noise to make it look better. So, I am heading in the right direction? I think I will know once I am able to test it on an aircraft. Guys, I am asking these questions without much thought...? Once you have establish a color close to silver or some form of metallic color (via) using overlay of colors and changes in opacity... Is the TRUE color can only be seen after you adjust the 'Specular' and 'Reflection' via Testureset.ini? Is there a specific specular and reflection number to use for the shinning silver or metallic color? Or you have to play with it to get the color you desire? Spinners - what is a 'gradient brush?' I hope that you would consider uploading it someday? I have a request from you: You made the FACH F-16AM with the added mode 'via' the fake pilot method. Do I have your permission to use this mode for my ROCAF F-16AM Block 20 project? I am from Taiwan originally, I just want to make some skins for the ROCAF. I hope I will have your permission? I guess I should just write it in English.... I am working on a few skins base on the model made by VR (FastCargo). So far my plan is to do all of the squadrons in the ROCAF and ROKAF. I would like to add the more specialize version from Chile and Brazil. I have seen the wonderful versions of the F-5E for Chile and Brazil; the added fuel probe and the extra blade antennas 'via' the (fake pilot method) on this Spanish forum. I was wondering if anyone can be kind enough to make the added fuel probe and the extra blade antennas for the F-5F? Perhaps someone already made it since the specialize version of the F-5E for Chile and Brazil is already made? If that is the case... would it be uploaded for sharing? Is there also any chance of the person or group of people who made the more specialize version of the F-5E to be uploaded? Or even better, is there anyone working on a NEW F-5E? Thank you.
