I just reinstalled FE again to try to clean up the mess. Now when I calibrate the joystick buttons I get the wrong response. The settings are exactly what I had before. But now when I map a JS button to "Target nearest visual enemy target" and " Target next visual enemy target" the closest aircraft is padlocked regardless of enemy or friendly. When I select the "Next" button the padlock cycles through every aircraft in vicinity. I have Exp pack and Nov'08 patch. Anybody know what happened or what I can do? The settings I had before worked just fine and I had the Nov08 patch before too.

I recently noticed that the Letters and serial numbers didnt always appear on the 3RNAS "C" Flight Pups. So I just edited the 3RNAS "C" flight in the download section. Anybody that wants to fix theirs just download the same file and overwrite your old one. I changed the Decal Config file to use the game generated white fuselage lettering. And I created about 80 more serial numbers in the "D" folder. Apparently the game needs a whole lot of decals for "random" to work. Had the same problem with the Pfalz D.III's. Should work just fine now. Sorry about that. quack74

FYI Changing the skin of the enemy
quack74 replied to quack74's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Thats something that should have been done a long time ago. That would really make this game. Especially with all the skins, squadrons, and Jastas to chose from. I wouldnt think it to be too hard to do. Just another thing that is time consuming. But would be an awsome addition. -

Just a note to anybody that doesnt know this. If you want to change the appearance of the enemy skin in Single Missions, Ex: If I'm in a Camel and I encounter a flight of Fokker Dr.1's, the Dr.1's don't always have to be "GermanCamo1". You can make it Jasta 11, Jasta 6, etc. etc. Simply by changing the position of the Jasta 11's Texture Set # to [TextureSet001]. Any skin you want can be done this way. Make sure you swap the GermanCamo1 with the Jasta 11's TextureSet #. If Jasta11 was [TextureSet005] than GermanCamo1 is now [TextureSet005]. Make sure you still have the Texture Sets in numerical order. Neat trick. Keeps the game colorful.

Keeping the pilot from disappearing when shot.........
quack74 replied to quack74's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
How about a wounded pilot? Not dead but damaged like a wing. Each component has a damaged counterpart. Why not a pilot? The dead pilot can disappear but a wounded pilot can be a bloody mess and still make it home. Can this be possible? When a wing is hit it gets bullet holes. When a pilot gets hit It can have some blood and oil stains and a bloody jacket. Or is the pilot completely unmanagable? -

I guess it would be a little too violent Thanks Tailspin -
This might be a little morbid but I want to know if there is a way to keep the pilot from disappearing when shot. I would like to use a damaged pilot bitmap (blood and oil) with head down when the pilot is killed. I've tried altering files but nothing seems to work. 1. Is it possible? 2. If so, I want to use a damaged model (new bitmap) of the pilot when the game sense a kill. Instead of the pilot just diappearing maybe swap for new bit map with no head movement. So I guess my question is, how do I create a damage model of a pilot that the game can recognize? Sick I know, but would be cool
