  1. Below are some pics of my problem. They show Pfalz D.III's of Jasta 30. The first pic is single mission #1. All is good. Have serial #'s and Personal markings. The way it should be. The second pic Shows the very next single mission w no serial #'s or personal markings. Why? The third pic shows the next single mission w no serial #'s again and only 1 personal marking. And WHY?
  2. I created a batch of 20 random Pfalz D.III serial number decals to be used on the D.III in game. Each plane in a flight will now have its own number. But my problem is, they show up, but only sometimes. In one mission I'll have 4 D.III all with different serial numbers. The next mission they wont have any. I also noticed sometimes only 1 D.III will have the number out of a flight of 4. I know the game randomly selects decals with a level 2. But how do I get the decal to appear all the time and not just randomly appear? Below is my decal config. It all seems right to me. Do I need to create more decals so there is more of a selection maybe? (I put the decals in the games main decal folder. Thats why there is no path in the FileFormat. It works both ways) [Decal022] MeshName=Tail DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=SERIAL Position=-3.20,0.0200 Scale=0.8 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal023] MeshName=Tail DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=SERIAL Position=-3.20,0.0200 Scale=0.8 DecalMaxLOD=3
  3. Hey Heck, I know you did some Jasta 10 D.III's. You have an opinion on my Jasta 10 skin. I'm not sure of the tail being all yellow. I know the ones you did had different color tails. What about the rest of the Jasta's D.III's tails? Were they just fuselage color? Or would yellow be ok. I dont have any books on the Pfalz D.III. Only pictures from the net. I've seen a painting with yellow tailed D.III's of Jasta 10. So thats why I did it. Like I said before, I'm not trying to make a custom historically correct ace skin. I just want to make a generic Jasta 10 skin. The Aces can be added later like the ones Heck made. Mine will help create a full flight of D.lll's. Each having different serial numbers and personal markings at random. If everyone thinks what I've done so far is ok than thats cool with me. I just want to tweak the Decals a bit more (Personal markings) to try to get them a little more "Pfalz like". What ever that means Also like I mentioned before. The markings will now be game generated. So now there will be three german markings for the Pfalz. I,m surprised no body did this yet. Or they did and I didnt know.
  4. Hey all. I have been working on a few Pfalz D.III skins. They are pretty much for generic use. Only because of the lack of good Jasta photos and because almost every D.III looked different. Due to the nature of the model being so distorted on the skin template, it's almost impossible to do many custom skins. But check this out . I've made it possible for the D.III to utilize the game generated markings. National as well as Personal. I know the markings on Pfalz's were zig zaging and loaded w stripes. But for now the game markings look pretty good. Not historicaly correct, but they'll due. Right? A whole lot of time went into figuring out the decals and their positioning. So I hope you like them. I put most of the "PersonalA" markings in the "D" folder in the Pfalz directory. I took away most of the smaller decals so more stripes would appear. And I created random serial numbers ( D.III 4223/17) and so on. About 20 I think. They will appear randomly. So not every plane is exactly the same. Lot of work! But the problem is, since I have'nt seen any good photos of any flight lines, I kind of made up a couple of Jastas to use in the game. Along with the all white and Lozenged D.III's from the download. Tweaked them a bit (weathering and such) I made a Jasta 10, Jasta 4, and a Jasta 30. Again I dont know about the accuracy at all. So before I post all this in the download section I would like some input from you guys. If they're good enough than thats great. If not, no problem. Remember I'm trying to create a Jasta Skin not an individual ace skin. So everybody can use different D.III's. Remember, the markings now work with the mission dates. Have a look, (the Jasta 4 is all decal work so be gentle ) If someone else already did this with the Pfalz D. III then, holy crap! Jasta 10 has yellow Jasta 4 blue tail and blk stripes Jasta 30 orange diamonds And a Jasta 7 to show national markings

  7. No problem. I'll repost it. I didnt get a message though Thanks for responding so quickly.
  8. Why was the 10RNAS "Black Flight" 5 pack taken off the download section?
  9. I'm working on all of those Black Flight tripes. Have them up by the weekend. Have to mess with decals and numbers.
  10. I guess it's safe to say now that online flying will never happen w First Eagles. There are no standardized flight models. If everyone is able to edit their planes and weapons, than how could anyone have a fair chance at an online dogfight? To be honest, When I bought First Eagles I was really looking forward to online WWI dogfighting. I loved IL-2's online dogfighting so much I thought It would be awsome to do it in a WWI enviroment. I even painted some IL-2 planes (the old biplanes of course) to look like WWI planes. Being able to play online is where all other games are today. I think this game doesnt have much of a future without "online". I does get boring flying alone sometimes. I spend most of my time w FE fixing things and making skins to make it more exciting. But the sim doesnt even have its own mission builder built in. The KMD mission builder is horrible, and slow. No clear maps. Takes too long, and you cant select different skins for one squadron or Jasta. They have to be cloned. Hate to say it but this game is already dated. I like to play it, but it lakes in so many ways. Main screen in IL-2 has Single Missions, Campaigns, Mission Builder and Quick Combat. Thats what FE should have had. I want more campaigns, and the ability to create missions and select different skins. For my flight as well as the enemy flight. FE missions dont allow choice of enemy of location or aircraft or skins. Why? This game could really take off. But it's just missing too many things. I've noticed a lot of new names in this forum. The other day I was flying a Sopwith Triplane from 8RNAS, and after flying for 20mins I encountered enemy oposition. SIX freakin Zepplins stacked up! This game wasnt free. I guess I just expect more from it. Or too much. So many people have put so much time into this game for years now. It really would have sucked with out them. But they all have helped to make this game a lot better . Thks. I'm going on and on I know. Sorry for bitching, but I just would like to see this game go somwhere. I would like it to be more fun than work. Im sure we all would. Get those flight models close enough in a nice big patch. secure them and create a server. I know so many of you from this site. I would like to shoot you down

This download contains the Sopwith Triplane skin of 10RNAS "C" Flight. Northern France, 1917. This scheme is that of "C" Flight. Blue noses, blue wheels, and blue tails. This is a somewhat accurate skin. The planes will use the stock number and letter system. Thanks again to the SFP1 Dev A-Team for the use of the original skin template. Enjoy, quack74

  15. Sorry. Was I being a little pushy there?
  16. Thanks Heck. I figured that might be the problem. Oh well, no "4" on top Sorry there bucky. I tried I still can change the 1RNAS bars on the rear tail.
  17. I still need to know why the "4" decal shows up on a panel it's not intended for. As I have in the above post, I have a "4" on the left and right Tail section, and one "4" on the Top. Why or how is the "Top 4" showing up ontop of a right side tail decal?
  18. Before this thread gets too crazy with all the different flight models, I just want to say thanks to Peter01. I was just changing the "rudder" data in the objects folder. I copied all files for the Dr.1 and pasted them in the FokkerDr1 aircraft folder. Now I have a great working Dr.1 . Camel's still sluggish in the tail. But I'll work on it. Thanks.
  19. No, your right. I'll have to patch this one anyway. I'll fix the whole thing.
  20. I'll open the Fokker Dr1 Data file. Change some rudder values. Save. Than run the game and nothing seems to change. I'll even try raising the values way too high just to get an effect. No matter what I do nothing changes. The fokker remains sluggish in maneuvers. Am I the only one with this problem with the Dr.1 and Camel flight models? Can they not be changed? Can you send me a PM with your Dr.1 Data file settings. I'll compare them w mine. Maybe something is wrong with my Dr.1 model settings. I dont know . As of now I cant even use them. After all the skins I made, and for now they're useless
  21. I managed to add the "4" to the upper fuselage of the 4 1RNAS Tripe I painted. But there's a problem. Anybody know how to fix this. When I added the upper "4" decal it appeared on the right lower fuselage as well. ???? I'll list my decal config and a photo. This Sopwith Triplane "N534" served w 1RNAS in France 1917. Had a personal marking of an "F" on the vertical stabalizer. And two thick white stripes on the fuselage. As well as one on each horizantal stabalizer. Thanks to the SFP1 Dev A-Team for the use of the original skin. Enjoy, quack74

  24. But why when I try to change the Data files there is no change in performance?. No matter how much I change the number values. If I change those Alfa values does it change my ability to change performance??
  25. I'm in need of good flight models for the Camels and the Fokker Dr.1. Ever since the patches they both are very sluggish performance wise. Rudder and elevator controls have a poor response. Very slow and cant even get a spin out of them. These two planes should be the most manueverable. For me they're the worst. I have the Expansion Pack and the latest Nov patch. and I've tried all available flight models. But no go. It also seems that when I try to alter the Data Files for each plane I get no response. I unpack the security files and edit the Data files. I get no change in performance when I restart game. They used to work but I guess the last patch doesnt allow for changes. I dont know . Can anybody out there help. I have even reistalled the game. Still the same. I like the flight model of the Sopwith Tripe fixed by Pete01 . I think the Fokker should be like that if not better.
