Little Tiger over Taiwan -
Perhaps the west, especially the US americans must understand, that there are more ways of life than the american way of life. The export of democracy, freedom, women rights will always fail if the societies of the other contries are unwilling or unable to accept this ideas. In the best way we get "fake democracies", how we find them in the most countries of Africa or Asia. In the worst case we get failed states like Libya or Afghanistan.

Top Gear Police Department helicopter. -
There was a nice scene about this subject in the russian Afghanistan war movie "9th Company" One experienced soviet soldier explained a nobbie: "Look. This are the Greens, our f*cking afghan allies. If the fight with the enemy starts, they run away and you will find them 5 kilometers behind the frontline!"

Yugoslav Floggers
Gepard replied to Viggen's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
Nice pictures. I like it. I doubt, that the Yugoslav Air Force had had pilots who could fly a MiG-23 in combat. It was not as easy as in MiG-21. Without proper training the MiG-23 could be a dangerous beast for his own pilot. -

New Russian Stealth Fighter to be unveiled this month

I want it! -
True, but the Greta fans tell us, that it is climate change. And St. Greta is always right, especially if she is wrong. The same effect you will find if people replace a meadow with a concrete area in front of their house and then are astonished that it is hotter in summer, that water stands in their basements after hard rain and so on.

Seems to be that someone has made this bird for SF2. The terrain looks like SF2E stock terrain. -

If i look to the available pictures i think what they show us is a "Maket", or to use the neglish term a mock up. Not more, not less. It is on the same level like the BAE Tempest, what the Tommies showed for a while. The experience show us, that between Maket and the real plane can be a lot of differences. -

Su-22 was NATO Code Fitter, eastern nickname "Susi". Completly other plane. If i have understood it correctly on next Tuesday we will learn more about the new russian bird. -
Barrage balloon or similar objects?
Gepard replied to Viggen's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Barrage Balloons are included in Battle of Britain terrain and Battle of Britain 2 terrain. But they are not made as single balloons. And so they looks in game: -
New Russian Stealth Fighter to be unveiled this month

Seems to be the MiG LMFS prototype or mock up. The russians are working on this plane since a couple of years. This plane could be seen as a confession, that the Su-57 is to expensive for a nation with mediocre economic power like Russia. -

No chaff and flares on F-8 during Vietnam?
Gepard replied to Chakat_Avocado's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Funny. The R-60 was not used in Vietnam War. They had only R-3S, which was a perfect AIM-9B copy. -
2 Different incidents involving F-15s
Gepard replied to Nesher's topic in Military and General Aviation
The Iron Dome incident shows, that the american made Friend and Foe systems still have problems to work properly. Its not new. Its known since Vietnam war. You'd think they'd had enough time to sort out the problem. -
Masquerade!

If i remember correctly "Opie" was the american spelling of the german word "Opi", what means "Grandpa". The car, a Sachsenring P601 Trabant, was bought by the Squadron and was used as "Follow Me" car in the early 1990th. The picture was taken at Jacksonvill AFB Florida. The name on the door is "Col Chuck Ickes". He was commander of this Airbase. He retired in a rank of Major General. I dont know, wheter the car is still in use.
