  4. Tornado gives final punch

Tornado F.3's are being replaced by the Tiffie, Gr.4's should be around for a while yet... that is they aint figured out whats replacing them yet. Craig
  5. Had another thought regarding the weapons stations, you could always have a twin rail under each wing when carrying the centreline tank. Or go with a twin rail on the tips if you want something completely different Craig
  6. Big Man FTW

Love that the little **** can't walk after he gets up. He's gonna go far attacking guys that are at least twice his size Craig
  7. Yak-44's and not the Kuznetsov.... Ulyanovsk? Craig
  8. how about a third Sparrrow on the centreline whilst carrying tanks on the wings? Or hydrailic/pneumatic rams to push the recessed missiles down and outboard of the tank before launch? Craig
  9. Evidence of alienlife

Didnt mean to sound like I was having a go at you o anything there FC, and I get that its a case of well wheres the evidence. My point is that even if the evidence was on our doorstep we have only just gained the technology to look for it. Any farther out and we havnt a prayer of detecting it, be it of a past or current civilisation. I'd also like to add that nowhere in the definition of inteligent life is space travel implied. Craig
  10. Evidence of alienlife

I tend tofollow the "just to damn many galaxies/stars/planets not to have life out there" train of thought. Though I dont have time to read the full page on the Fermi paradox what I have read so far strikes me as a pretty pathetic argument against there being life out there. We cant see it so it probably isnt there...? It wasnt until 1971 that we got close enough to Mars with Mariner 4 to discover it was a barnen wasteland. If we have only been able to look closely at our nearest neighbour for 40 years how can we possibly say what dosn't exist on the surface of planetts only just detectable orbiting stars many lightyears away? . The argument that we see no evidence of alien probes or spacecraft is ludicrous, we have only just establihed what lies on the edges of our own solar system but we are supposed to detect somethig that may be only a few meters across, that given the vastness of the galaxy probably has no intention of coming anywhere near us :P Craig
  11. Perhaps Aspide/Sparrow capability ala F-104S? Fake Pilot adtion of an IFR probe? Craig
  12. I'll second the Sr.177 and throw in the Fairy Delta III. Craig
  13. Really?

Right... kill the lawyers..... Surely in oposition to the claimants case it could have been pointed out that in order to get in the pillock must have seen the signs, ergo been aware he was a prospective darwin candidate.... Thus resulting in a slap to the back of the head for wasting the courts time... Craig
  14. Special Forces Velcro

me thinks someone needs to keep taking his happy pills... Craig
  15. military logic

Here goes: Failed RAF OASC medical due to eye exam however passed the rest... Passed Royal Navy OASC, same eye exam, both administered by the RAF at Cranwell. Turns out the RAF want Pilots with 6/6 natural vision whilst the RN will settle for 6/12 corectable to 6/6. So medically I'm unfit to fly for the RAF however was considered perfectly fit to fly the same bloody Harriers that had just been transfered to the RN element of JFH from the RAF. Craig
  16. 20 years ago

Thinking back on it this is probably why I'm here, some of the earliest memories I have are of the news coverage of the war. Craig

  24. New Rig Time, advice needed

Old rig died a couple of ours ago and I already had my eye on this. I'm looking at the following system from Wired to Fire: http://www.wired2fire.co.uk/ccc.php?systype=14 (Sim X1000) with a few alterations listed bellow* I should note that in addition to the Thirdwire series & FSX I'll be using this system to run ProEngineer 4 & 5, rekon it should be ok however if anyone sees anything I should alter I'd appreciate the advice. *Spec: OS : Win 7 home premium PSU: Xigmatek NRP-MC702 700W Power Supply CPU: Core i7 875K 8MB Cache Socket 1156 Prolimatech Megahalem CPU Cooler Card: Radeon HD5870 1GB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card RAM: 4GB Corsair DDR3 1600MHz C8 Twin3X HD: Samsung 500GB Spinpoint F3 16MB Cache SATA 300 Craig
  25. New Rig Time, advice needed

Thanks for the heads up on the GPU, however time is a factor unfortunatly... I need Pro Eng ASAP. Suppose an upgrade down the road is a possibility, unless there are any other cards I should look at at the moment. On a side note why is it computers know precisely when to go boom? I kid you not, the day after the coursework assingment is handed out it died.... Craig
