  1. Cool, always a fan of What If FAA projects. Actually did a naval Tornado myself a few months ago though nothing as in depth as this, just ini edits and decal edits in much the same way as Spinners works his magic. Also had an FAA Jag M more or less ready to release if anyone wants it, kinda hopping someone does a Jaguar IM so I can do one with a radome. Craig
  2. F-108!

Like Gunrunner said its the Vought submission for the VFX cmopetition, the model V-507 :) Craig
  3. sounds good, and I realised the reason I had to change the Tu-95 name was that I installed the wrong bloody one so no bug there lol :blush2: Craig
  4. Perhaps set the Bear as hostile and mission type to intercept but include a moddified data ini for the Bear with the gun entries deleted or the ammo count reduced to nil? I think thats what was done in the Gulf of Sidra mission set, two scenarios from either side, one historically acurate where they engage and one where the Cats esscort the toothless MiGs away from the CVBG. Craig
  5. Hey just flew a couple of missions, noticed a couple of minor things but no major problems getting it running. Everyone is using "showtime" as their callsign which gets a little confusing. The wake for the carrier dosnt show although it does for the esscorts. All missions appear to be set as strikes so on say an intercept (Bear) you can't be successful. Finally I might have used the wrong Bear though it was the only one I've found, had to edit TU-95M-something back to TU-95M for it to show. Anyway thanks for these, great fun flying a modern navy jet... even if I am a tomcat fan lol Craig
  6. This is going to be awesome once Hinche's new carrier fleet puts to Sea :) Craig
  7. Typhoon

I could be wrong but didnt you have to also go into the config ini and change the following "AvionicsDLL=Avionics70.dll" to "AvionicsDLL=Avionics60.dll". Craig
  8. Tornado F.3 AOP

I wouldnt bet on it, the OCU was clossed last year and 56 Sqn amalgamated into 43 Sqn now leaving only 43 and 111 operating the type. IIRC both are slatted for Typhoon conversion. Even if there was the desire within the RAF to retain the type in limited numbers given the premature retirement of the Sea Harrier FA.2 and Jaguar I doubt the gov would be willing to hold onto what is potentially yet another cost cutting measure.... Craig
  9. Well youve certainly got my attention :) Craig
  10. Ok, landing on a certain carrier I have a problem if I roll out to far, as soon as I cross onto the overhang I fall into the sea. I tried editing the flight deck width from 31.8 to 35.8 however this was a guess and has had no effect in game. I tried a search for a fix but came up empty handed, so is there anything I can do to remedy this without having access to the model? [Deck] SystemType=FLIGHT_DECK FlightDeckHeight=16.6081 ;15.19 FlightDeckLenght=267.04 FlightDeckWidth=35.80 LandDeckAngle=-8.0 CollisionMesh=Flight_Deck Craig
  11. Falling through the deck

Yeah, theres also an axial deck Oriskany if your interested, though from the look of things the differences are purely cosmetic. Craig

  13. Miramar crash update

If it is accurate that the pilots on the squadron were aware of the maintenance condition of this jet yet continued to fly it anyway then he may be liable for criminal negligence, ie. a potentially catostrophic fuel system problem was left uncorected for months. 146 flights in an aircraft that is known to have a crippling flaw is utterly unforgivable. As to not looking at checklists maybey we can put this down to being a highly stressed rookie however, SOP in the event of an engine failure is land as soon as possible and that is drummed into you before you are allowed in the jet. So there isn't really any excuse that I can see for passing up North Island, even more so for the fact that it is an overwater approach. Craig
  14. I might have missed the memo and thought I'd post this here for anyone else that missed it: http://www.geos-aircraft.com/SFAircraft.htm some real gems over there, particualrly the utterly massive Tigercat's Craig
  15. Oh, Soviet carrier. Thought it had been mothballed Craig
  16. I have started the application process to become an RAAF pilot

Try to remain calm, some of the tests are inate skills that you either have or don't and as a reult can't prepare for, ie spacial awareness, hand eye coordination and multi tasking. What you can brush up on is mental arithmatic and asuming they follow the same format as the RAF/FAA current affairs. Also like most have already said a good nights sleep can't hurt either. Good luck mate. Craig
  17. I've recently installed the Arromanches (looks great btw) however when I go around or any time I've tried to do a rolling take off after having landed I spontaneously explode as soon as I reach the deck edge. I had a look at the ini's of both the ship and aircraft and I dont see anything jumping out at me, any ideas guys? TMF F4U-7 SFP1 Oct08 Craig
  18. How Low Do You Go?

Just rememberered a tale from Red Flag, an RAF tornado came back minus the top two feet of the fin... there were also reports of loss of telephone or power services.... turns out they had gone under a wire and severed it. Unfortunatly I can't remember when this happened. Craig
  19. How Low Do You Go?

camel blood streaked along the underneath of the fuselage :) Craig
  20. Documentary's about aviation.

Well you got me in the mood to watch some there so went looking and found this: http://www.historicaviation.com/search_res...ch=&start=0 Hope it helps you out, seems pretty comprehensive. Craig
  21. Are flight sims going out of style?

There are a few in the works though I doubt we'll ever see the likes of the 90's again SevenG : F/A-18C study sim Jet Thunder : Falklands dim XXX XXXX : I cant remember the title but theres also one set around the USAF from basic flight training up to front line operations. Dont expect to see it any time soo though. Craig
  22. The F-84, Can I Get the Real Story?

It certainly had its place however the joke at the time was: "Lord don't give me an F-84. That b!tch is a ground loving wh**e. She'll pitch and she'll roll. Then she'll dig a big hole. Lord don't give me an F-84" Probably penned by a Sabre jokey having a dig but it stuck. I also recall an artical I read a few years back about the nuclear armed birds stationed in either the UK or Germany and with one bomb and drop tanks she would take every last inch of the runway to get up... and on one or two occasions was known to fail to rotate and subsequently plough whatever was at the end of the base. Craig
  23. AV History

these guys I think: http://avhistory.org/communityserver/default.aspx thought they were only concerned with MS products however if they are moving to TK's sims then theyre welcome, they used to have some really awesome birds back when I was still involved with CFS2 Craig
  24. I really wouldnt worry about your english, su inglés es mucho mejor que mi español lol. No he utilizado mi español por tres años o tan. Interesting little bird youve got there, kinda looks like the result of a romantic night in the hangar between an F-18 and an F-22 lol Craig
  25. Topgun II in the works

"Oh my God theres a dozen more of them, and a blimp... a big giant blimp slowly moving south!" :) Craig
