Which CAT file and which INI file?
Shaolin replied to Liberty24's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
No file - it's in the menu... -
WW2 Luftwaffe stencling for Bf-109s & Fw-190s
Shaolin replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
Amazing! But I found a few spelling errors... "Rotring" - ??? (no idea what that supposed to mean... where on the plane is it placed?) "Kühler ist im Haubentiel eingebaut" - not sure... but it is no existing word... (maybe "Haubenteil"? make not much more sense, but...) "qurchsprngtadung" - "durch Sprengladung" (per explosive charge) The rest seems to be correct. -
WW2: Invasion of Japan?
Shaolin replied to Stratos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Prop Heads Forum
No, it's Aces of the Pacific! (Battlehawks uses bitmap graphics, AOTP polygon objects...) -
awards for the red air force
Shaolin replied to Jinji-chan's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I tried that once - but it is a LOT of manual changing (in many different files...)! The simple (but not really elegant) way is: Create the directory "Program Files\Strategy First\Strike Fighters\Flight" on drive "C" and extract the contents of the "Flight" folder in the zip(-file) into that folder. Extract it in WOE's "Flight" folder, too and the content of the "Menu" folder into WOE's "Menu" folder. I know, it is a little bit complicated, but the Medals*.ini files are using absolute directories (something a developer never should do...)! -

No, it's not! It is "build in" - if you read that text you click away at the installation you can see you agree the browser sending your surfing behavior to google...
-
One interesting note: The "Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik" (Federal Agency for Security in Information Technology) is warning not to use Crome - it is unsafe and works as a kind of "data collector" (sending your browsing caracteristics direct to google...)!
-
I think he means the successor of GS2000 - as far as I remember I ran it on Win2k, so WinXP shouldn't be a problem...

F-35A Lightning II
Shaolin replied to Klavs81's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I don't think so - the VTOL-Version is the "B"! -
I prefer none of them having my data, but that's just wishful thinking today... (Maybe they know more about us than we do?)
-
You're really using google's newest data-collector?

She's a maneater...
Shaolin replied to FastCargo's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
That's why they called it maneater... -
You're right, Jedi! But the last ENT episode was (especially after the fantastic two episodes before) just - well, I don't know how to tell it without using words causing an instant ban :blush2: And they really shouldn't let Frakes and Sirtis appear in that episode - it was frightening! (I hope I won't look that old when I reach their age - and they had professional make-up artists to cover the worst...)
-
Wait, did I understand that correct? "Employees of company"? They used non-military personal to test the jets in a real war? @Lord Vader ( ):
-
Well, thats exactly what I meant! How can you determine the "value" of a modern fighterplane without proper resistance - that goes for the US, GB and whoerver else operations, too...

Does shooting at defenseless targets count as combat?

If you take a look at FOX' policy with Firefly you understand the bad rating... ...a series trying to tell a story has to fail if you air it in a random order...
-
Definitely, great memories! Isn't it more than ten years ago? I really have to watch it again... Whe it comes to newer series, Firefly was great - but much too short!
-
That's really annoying! I think that trend started with Oblivion (or with another style in The Sims)... As a positive counterpart i would call Operation Flashpoint and Armed Assault - new units, maps and missions (even a newgame mode in ArA) with free patches!

weapon editor ineffective
Shaolin replied to Sokol's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Believe me, I know how many (just three different combinations, plus two or four digits for year - but the seperating characters and the use of it... Hungary for example uses "yyy.mm.dd."...)! And, at least for digital use, the yyyymmdd is definitely the best! (good for sorting, too!) Btw - one question to the US guys around. What is the deeper meaning of that strange order (month before day - and the year after them???)? The only thing I find more confusing is the "full" date with weekday and time... (And the - let's call ist a little bit "outdatet" - measurement system ) -

Shaolin replied to Sokol's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
You're welcome! And please don't talk about date formats! (especially the strange US ones...) I can't see them anymore! (Did you ever realized how many different of them are used around the world?) -

Wrong editor version? WOI for WOE/WOE/SF1 or other way... -
I remember I have seen it before (in TV) - but don't remember when and in which context... (it has to be awile - I don't watch TV very much by now)
-
...and that is GOOD! btw, Nesher, have you realized it is a german video (the voice-over is a little loud to be able to understand it, but the text at the end shows it clearly...)?

Whoo - shooting with artillery at firemen? How do you do that?
