My apologies for sounding so simple. I have never downloaded and installed anyone's mods. Can someone give me a brief rundown on how to install one of these? I have downloaded the above sound files and opened them up, but cannot figure out any steps beyone that. Where might this "Mods" folder be, etc? You may send me a PM if the process is too lengthy so we don't tie up this thread. Thanks.

That very same issue happened to me a few weeks ago - out of the wild blue. No matter what I did to that installation (resetting files, etc) would correct it. In the end, I had to do a complete uninstall/reinstall for everything, from CFS3 to HiTR - actually 2 times. All has been working fine since. I never did any mods or changes, as many have, so I couldn't blame that possibility. Never did figure out what happened...........

I am probably missing something simple. Unfortunately, my time only allows me to play OFF about 1-2 times a week. I currently have 7 active pilots, with each one having claims (1 to 11)submitted. None of them show any confirmed victories yet, however, when reviewing the claim reports in detail, several indicate that they do indeed have confirmed claims (as well as some rejected and pending). Once a claim has been confirmed, should it show up in the pilot's record right away, or does it still take some time to go thru 'official channels' before it gets posted? (Maybe I need to just play more - haha)

Advice for safer "Pilot Dossier" management
AROTH replied to Olham's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
I am still not sure if my current issue is related to yours or not.. When I have had to do a "Reset", or have deleted pilots that have been deceased or for whatever reason, then created a new pilot that fills his spot (such as deleting #7 and making a new one that takes the #7 spot), the "Flight Log" page is blank, as it should be. However, if I check the "View Claims" page, I still have all claims listed for any pilot that has ever occupied the #7 spot. I am wondering if I have not been doing something correctly in the past, and is there any way to clear those claims not related to the current pilot? -
Ok, I see what is happening. The "Claims Registered" page is retaining all information ever entered for whatever pilot may have had that position in the past. For instance, I created a new pilot tonite (No 9). His flight log page shows that he has had no flight as of yet, which is correct. However, if I hit the "View Claims" button for him, which should be blank as he has not yet flown any missions, I get a claims history for all of my previous pilots that have occupied the NO 9 spot in the past, before they were either retired, killed or deleted when I had to reset CFS or OFF in the past. Is this normal and is there anyway to delete those older claims histories from prior pilots without deleting anything from the current pilot who now occupies the NO 9 spot? (or No's 2-8)

Thanks for that explanation which does make sense. I did go back and check the flight times/dates and observed that they are mostly made on the same day or shortly thereafter. What seems like a few months to me is really only a few days in OFF time. I just need to fly more often. I did notice something very odd, however, when checking the claim details on each pilot. All of the last recorded flights of each pilot are the last ones listed sequentially, but each pilot also had detailed flights of aircraft and countries not associated with them listed first. For example, Pilot A flying an SE5a with Great Britain had 5 flights with 4 claims registered. His claims detail page shows the details of the 4 claims made, but there are also other claims from different pilots, such as Pilot B from Germany flying an Albatros D.II. All of my pilots show this oddity. Any idea on what that may have happened there?

Is P4 getting a sound overhaul?

Uh, yeah, I am with rjw.......... No problems here.......... Just enjoy the SIM.............. -
Sorry to bother everyone. I will be building a new computer sometime in the next week or so. What do most of you do when starting out with a new unit? Do a new fresh install of CFS3, OFF, and HiTR, or, just transfer the programs from you old hard drive or back-up drive to the new machine?
-
That was the fix, Gents! Did the trick. Sim runs like a well-oiled clock. Now, lets see if I can improve myself enough to stop getting killed so much.

Yes, Windows 7. I will go back and check my settings on that one. Thanks much.

OK. So, I have OFF up and running now with beautiful results. However, Trackir is another issue... It is past 3:30 am and I am totally out of it after trying to get Trackir to work with OFF. I have been reading the stickies right and left and trying to figure what is wrong. Trackir works fine with FS2004 and CFS3 but not at all with OFF. I take it from some of the posts in the sticky that I may have done something incorrectly during installation or left something out during set-up. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Sorry to trouble you all again. Thanks.

Ha-ha - am I a slow one. From my original post of May 1 regarding building the new computer, I actually finally got it set up and running only yesterday due to to numerous other household repair duties and tasks. As you know, just turning it on isn't the easiest part. You have to reload all off your old programs and do a lot of tweaking. Anyway, got OFF and HiTR installed today and took it for its first test flight. Thought I had died and gone to heaven - what a difference with the new system! Sliders are way up and the frame rates hover around 55-60 steady (barely could do low teens on the ground and mid-20's in the air with the old Dell). I see so much more detail in everything that was not present before. True, it was only a single plane test flight, but what an improvement. When it gets dark tonite, I will also try the Trackir and also see how it does in a furball. Maybe now I won't get killed so often.

OT-If you had a time machine
AROTH replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
After the war where all of these machines were stored. As long as I could sneak my digital camera with me and just be ignored for a full day and click away. Apologies to whoever originally provided this photo - I think it was from someone on this site, but I cannot recall who. -
Thanks all. That was what I was thinking would be the best path to follow. Wanted to make sure.

Well, if it is consolation to you, I have found that my most satisfying accomplishments in life have not necessarily been in personal relationships. Congratulations.

Wife: "There is something wrong with the stupid computer!" Me: "What's wrong?" Wife: "I don't know! It 's just doing something weird! Now it is just stuck and won't do anything!" Me: "Well, what buttons did you push?" Wife: "I didn't do anything! You always say I do something to make it this way!!" Me: "Well, you were the last one using the keyboard........" Wrong response. After that comment, it just goes further downhill.........sigh.

Poll: How good is your hit accuracy?
AROTH replied to vonOben's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Single gun machines about 6-8%. Twin gun machines about 10-12%. My piloting skills have dropped since I only get to play about once a week now - and I am supposed to be retired!
