This is the almost-finished 2020 Terminator that was left in my HD for more than a month.I was stuck in making the right skin (I admit I am not good at it)and it was left unreleased. Now I want to offer it to you the way it is, because if not now it doesn't make any sense later.I use the seytan skin from EVRO, sounds from SPILLONE and the avionics are using elements from the F-4ES mod of ULTRAMAX. Please have latest weapon packs installed. I have in my HD a few more projects, that is a - Lightning F.2A - An updated F7U - A Kurnass 2000 - various MiG-21s and J-7s - F/A-18 upgrades I am going to release them soon, unfinished or not doesn't matter, 'cause I feel is better to just release them and let someone else improve them.If someone else is working on such projects, please let me know, and I would gladly give you my work before release, as long as I am mentioned. -

That said, the plane is fantastic and the work done is simply awesome. I was impressed by the FM model, this flies like no other. Try some zoom climbs up to 100.000 ft, possibly it can go even to 130.000 ft. Now in combat, is a different story. I lose my orientation, and co-operation with more conventional jets (e.g. F-100, Lightning) is difficult. -

Check this I think that the threat of SF to fade from the scene is very real, even if in reality the tacpack is not as good as advertised: FSX has a much, much larger fan base than SF...

Patch December 2010-C is out!

I am trying as much to avoid it, but it's obvious that for some people I am like the red capote of a matador to an angry bull. -
Patch December 2010-C is out!
FANATIC MODDER replied to EricJ's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I did the stupidity to buy exp2. Instead of "flying", I spend almost all my free time trying to find a solution about the airstart problem (impossible), then extracting all the exp2 extra stuff to try it to older versions of SF, (1 & 2) again impossible, even with SF2E latest patch. It destroyed me all the pleasure (I feel like it's an "action game" without it). I found that the editor sometimes doesn't work properly too (I tried to created SR-71 missions that never flew to their projected alt.). In general, I have a difficulty to understand what these people are trying to do. -
Issue with Weapons Editor
FANATIC MODDER replied to serverandenforcer's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Oh, I was really upset when I first discovered this (when I thought that "I should make the transition") about a year ago. At the end you end up doing endless copies ("back ups") of everything, even when they are not really needed. And of course YOU WON'T throw your SF1 weapons, (my weapondata stopped at about 4.7MB) no matter what they're trying to tell you... -
How hard can it be to accept the fact!
FANATIC MODDER replied to hgbn's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I 've just seen this topic...A day after I expressed in this forum that I was still happy with my 2006 desktop (and a few hours after the MB339PAN topic was ...deleted), I was attacked. HD dead (I managed to recover) + my graphics card + sound card. So, I had to buy a new system. Like it or not, I tasted SF2 series in a windows 7 system. Apparently running dx10 for XP is not an ideal solution. Now is smooth. But apart from that, nothing more that I did not already knew: The SF2 graphics engine, way better than gen1, but for the rest, I am not convinced that had any sense to change the game structure. It has in one sense: I cannot just copy-paste my old object folder to the new one. So I had to start all-over again and instead of enjoying the virtual flights, to waste my hours trying to make old mods SF2 compatible. You know, we had to live real lives. So I had to stick in my SF1 sims. When you have a 180GB installation you don't throw it to the recycle bin so easily (someone wrote in fact that he did...). So I did the obvious: Downloading the ...missing parts from DX11 to make my good, old, WOE working again. -

This is great! I love it. i have a question: I see some cockpit panels in the cockpit folder, what about them? Are we going to have a proper Tu-22M cockpit? -

This is the Hellenic Air Force Mirage F-1CG as it operated from 1975 until 2003. It is based in the Mirage Factory F1C Changes include: -Mirage F1 cockpit by Ordway (with some minor changes) -Engine Sounds by Spillone -Hangar Screen by KingAlbert -New weapondata: Mirage F-1CGs NEVER carried French Air to Air Missiles, or any type of guided air to ground weapons. In fact the only weapon that carried in all their career (apart from the DEFA cannons) was AIM-9 Missiles. The fact that no SARH missiles were ever carried was not to the ...good weather as it is often mentioned (Overcast during winter in the aegean is not that unusual) but due to the fact that THK uses aircraft that were/are in HAF too, like F-104s,F-4s and F-16s.Therefore in the frequent clashes over the Aegean visual indentification is required, for obvious reasons. -Loadouts are changed accordingly.AIM-9P in its various versions was the standard F-1CG weapon.Only Alu fuel tanks were used.F-1CGs were NEVER used for air-to-ground missions, however they retained some basic air-to-ground capability and it is retained here only for gameplay reasons. -Automatic Flaps: During the early '80s all F-1CGs were retrofitted with automatic flaps. As you are going to see yourselves this was a substantial improvement. I 've nothing special but to collect different parts to present a credible Mirage F-1CG. The credits should really go to: -BPAO -Sony Tuckson -Ordway -Spillone -KingAlbert Please notify me if someone else needs to be mentioned. IMPORTANT NOTE:This is a FREEWARE!!!! -

I don't mind if this will take one, two or six months, I want to be correct, historically accurate and functional. This is how pleasure comes...There is so much to download in COMBATACE (and not only COMBATACE!) to keep everybody occupied until the new cockpit/plane arrives... -

I am having a re-look at it, some people reported me decal problems too, apart from the guns. But it is difficult to make decals work in all versions, all patches in Gen 1 sims. I am requesting a new skin, the 3D model is good enough but a new skin is needed, if someone would like to try it I 'll be very grateful. -

YES YES YES!! I am so happy that the new cockpit (and new plane) are coming. THANKS Crusader and all people involved. (Just a question: Would be possible to use old viper -C skins, or there would be a completely new 3D model) -

WOI cockpit for MF F-16A with corrected avionics V1.1
FANATIC MODDER posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
File Name: WOI cockpit for MF F-16A with corrected avionics V1.1 File Submitter: FANATIC MODDER File Submitted: 09 August 2010 File Updated: 11 September 2010 File Category: Ini Edits I did this work hoping to motivate people to present a re-worked F-16C cockpit. This mod enables WOI users to enjoy their MF F-16As with the stock hi-rez TW cockpit. The stock TW F-16A in WOI unfortunately lacks TWS capability (Note: Apparently I was wrong, it was indeed without TWS in the very first batches), while MF F-16As lacked ground map capability due to a mixture of avionics60 lines in an avionics70dll file (Note: As I was informed, it was later corrected). Furthermore, TMF avionics are more representative of Blk1/5/10s, instead TW are a bit stronger, more representative of Blk 15 avionics. I re-worked the avionics.ini to present something as close to reality as I could, based on the stock WOI cockpit. V1.1 Changes: TWS Capability deleted from Blk 10 Avionics TV Capability restored in Blk 15 Avionics If you want to use MF TV filter instead of the TW, change this line from TextureStage[01].TextureName=GreenTVFilter.bmp ;TextureStage[01].TextureName=cockpit\GreenTVFilter.bmp TextureStage[01].MipMap=FALSE to ;TextureStage[01].TextureName=GreenTVFilter.bmp TextureStage[01].TextureName=cockpit\GreenTVFilter.bmp TextureStage[01].MipMap=TRUE NOTE: Not 100% sure when Maverick capability was certified for F-16s. It seems to me that it was a retrofit in a later date for Blk1/5/10 aircraft. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: 1) Download, extract and place into respective folders. They will overwrite the previous ones. Remember to keep back ups just in case... 2) Change this line CockpitDataFile= from CockpitDataFile=F-16A_cockpit.ini to CockpitDataFile=F-16A_NETZ_COCKPIT.ini NOTE: Do not, I repeat DO NOT delete the already installed cockpit, since I use many TGAs from the MF cockpit. It won't work properly without it. ADDED BONUS: Modified MF F-16A OCU DATA file with F100-220E engine. I want to thank TW & MF and every person that contributed to the community. If an individual deserves credit, please notify me. REMEMBER THIS IS A FREEWARE! Click here to download this file -
WOI cockpit for MF F-16A with corrected avionics V1.1
FANATIC MODDER replied to FANATIC MODDER's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
Hi Crusader, I always had the idea in my mind before I made this mod that ALL APG-66s had TWS mode, but apparently I was wrong. Back in the '80s was a standard theme of the aviation/defence press the TWS capability of APG-66, which was the new thing in the radars back then (like it was the double-pulse doppler radars a few years before). The same thing about the maverick, which I always thought that was a later addition. All these are misconceptions that come from the '80s. I can speculate now that since GD was battling with Dassault in almost every fighter competition from 1975 to 1985, they had to come up to show something that their product was superior from Mirage F1/2000 with their SYRANO IV/RDM radars. As time progressed (beyond 1985) and F/A-18 was coming strong in the scene, GD has to come up with something on the then new F-16C and market it as a true all around, multirole fighter, more talk was about their air to ground capabilities. However I am still sceptical if all F-16 could launch AGM-65A/B from the beginning. I have old magazines that describe F-16As (C was stillborn) as only iron bomb/rocket pod capable. In a 1984 booklet I 've seen written that " Sparrow, Skyflash and T.V. Maverick have been launched from F-16s" something that dictates that the weapon was not operational with F-16 from the beginning. I 'll fix soon all that is necessary. However, I don't know how I can simulate in a persuasive manner the difference between the Situation Awareness and full TWS capability. I 've downloaded myself the TMF Mirages around the time the WOI was released (a bit before I think) and I haven't touched them since then. In a way I found them more convincing that TWF own's F-16s and I had many hours of "flying" thrills with them, and I should thank TMF for that. In the process, I learned that indeed F-16 is (and was) a rather overestimated plane in air to air combat (if the sim is to believe) but this didn't diminish my interest, rather the opposite. I 've downloaded the NF4+ and I installed parts/bits in my gigantic WOE installation, but I was not aware of of the avionics corrections. With your permission, I 'll have a look in the HUD and see if something useful can be incorporated and I 'll added them in a newer version. I should mention it again, my motivation about this mod was ONLY to cook up things a bit for better F-16s, especially in the cockpit, to get a proper -C cockpit a last. I was thrilled with TMF MiG-29s and the fantastic cockpit that they have and I discovered myself that having a proper cockpit is the reason that I "flew" again and again certain planes. I look up in the gauges, checking temps and pressures, and I feel almost like I am flying for real. Woh didn't try at least once to get a mission done with the new "spillone" "Yankee"? -

All I did was to modify the AVIONICS.INI to block II configuration, mainly simulating the APG-79 AESA radar, using the VFA-213 skins (VFA-213 has block II planes). You NEED to have the original F/A-18F installed first, because all the the effects, pilot, weapons etc. are NOT included. Be aware: -This is NOT a 100% correct F/A-18F Block II plane, since if we want to follow reality faithfully a modified -almost new- cockpit is needed. - I haven't found a detailed performance description of the APG-79 radar, so some changes are in reality "best guess". So the Credit should really go to: Skin by SidDogg Template by 101tfs and Erwin_hans 3D Model by 101tfs Flight Model by Erwin_hans INI work by 101tfs and Erwin_hans Effects by 101tfs and Erwin_hans Original F/A-18A/B Cockpit by TMF modified to an F-18E/F by Erwin_hans. And last but not least: Remember this is a FREEWARE!! -
