FAC Aircraft
CarlosemoG replied to RAVEN's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Thanks for answering, Fubar512. I do admit that seeing that La-11 in FAC duty was a surprise. It was the first and only time I saw a Soviet FAC. I just didn't shoot more rounds at it because a) I was running out of ammo and b) eight MiG-17s were arriving at the area to perform their own CAS and the A-1H is not the dogfighting type. Have a great day! -
FAC Aircraft
CarlosemoG replied to RAVEN's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
This may not be the right place for this, but since the topic is FACs, here it goes: is it possible to shoot down an enemy FAC? A couple of months ago while in a CAS (Single Mission in WOE) I noticed an La-11 flying in circles above the Soviet tanks I had just destroyed. I pulled up on my A-1H, got close and fired my guns. I fired hundreds of rounds and none seemed to hit the target. I know the La-11 was flying in circles but I got close enough and compensated for its turn. I have gunned down faster and more agile planes before and in tighter turns and greater distances too, so what gives? And before any funny remarks, yes, I had my gunsight set to "Air to Air" (or whatever - can't remember now). Is it possible the game grants immunity to opposing FACs? To all FACs regardless of what nation is flying it? Was it all a bug or a glitch? Come to think of it, I never had a friendly FAC getting shot down either. Any insight will be welcome. -
Crash landings?
CarlosemoG replied to Dogzero1's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I've never been able to belly land but I've watched as the computer belly landed Yak-3s that had ran out of fuel mid-combat in my WOE install on a couple of occasions. -
I've seen better here in our own Screenshot Thread... No, just kidding! The site is full of really great art. Some very talented folks out there. Sweet find, Slartibartfast! However, if it happened to have a gallery devoted to videogame screenshots, then those coming from CA's Screenshot Thread would rank at the very top.

Invisible Nukes
CarlosemoG replied to harryleith's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hi, harryleith, don't know about the first part of your post (it's happened to me too and not just weapons, whole planes as well!) but as for the second question, have you looked into the A-5's DATA.INI file? Every pylon and weapon bay in every plane has an "AttachmentType=" line where you tell the game the nationality/origin of the weapons you want your plane to carry. Type "USAF,USN,USMC,NATO" for good measure. That'll give you all US made weapons. It's worked for me on a few "weaponless" planes I had, particularly Soviet made ones. As soon as I changed "AttachmentType=WP" to "AttachmentType=SOVIET", the loadout screen became full of goodies to shoot at and drop on the NATO forces. You can usually find it after the lines for the plane's control surfaces. Hope it helps! -
Talk about shooting oneself in the foot! As much as I admire someone who's willing to stick to his beliefs, his theory is so completely flawed it makes me wonder how on earth will someone so dimwitted be able to keep a company. Service people do kill but are merely the enforcers of decisions made by politicians. Will he ever hire a former PM?

Congratulations!

This is fun! My name's Carlos and of all the results, number 8 is the one that defines me the best: "The cutest, most amazing, sweet, caring, funny, spexy, moe, awesome guy who deserves to be loved so much that it would take at least 150 girls to love him THAT MUCH! He will usually be found with his nose inside a manga or a physics book, talking to friends or daydreaming. He will usually be in love with a character out of his favourite Anime, and almost worships Wolverine. He has gorgeously long raven hair and colour brown eyes, his skin would usually be tanned. A lovely, beautiful boy who has brains and emotions... * He's reading a X-men Comic, and he's got a FullMetal Alchemist pocket watch! Oh My God! He is SO Carlos! * That boy's hair is so beautiful, I just want to stroke it. And his eyes, they're like brown glass marbles! He is Such a Carlos! I want to ask him out! *He's staring off into space again! He must be a Carlos!" Yep, I'm a an Anime enthusiast who loves to daydream and finds quantum physics fascinating. I'm more of a Batman fan though. Long raven hair? Raven it once was (family trait - at 31 I'm already quite grey) and I'm going bald! I'm tanned and my dark brown eyes are indeed beautiful (so I've been told). "A lovely, beautiful boy who has brains and emotions..." That's me! 150 girls to love me? I wish! No woman should go through life without the blissful experience of loving me... There are other definitions in Urban Dictionary that closely define me but let's keep these forums a place children can visit...

"It may be humiliating for me, but that's politics in a democracy and I'll take my lumps" See, Mr. Atkinson? That's Democracy at work right there. Not the rotten political party system adopted by so many countries but the original Greek concept of the "Rule of the People". People deciding what's better for them, not a group of men and women whose allegiances don't seem to lie with their country but rather with their ideology and the people who finance their campaigns. Now bend over for the people who pay your salary!
