1930s Ground And Terrain objects
Geezer posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - World War II Forum
Wrench massaged some 1930s airfield objects, and created a DL pack that will drop right into SF2 folders. While intended for an FE2 China war mod, the objects are also suitable for many WW2 airfields. I've uploaded the pack to the DL section and it should be available later today. -
The Italy theater was superb, and this looks like it will equal or surpass it. Impressive!

Excellent - thanks!

1930s Ground And Terrain objects

As Wrench was good enough to provide me with Martinsyde data, I thought I'd respond to a question above about WW2 aircraft. Because of my focus on biplanes and early monoplanes, I don't have many aircraft suitable for 1939-45 - and none of them are game-ready. Because of commitments to First Eagles projects, it will be at least a calendar year - or more - before I can complete any of the aircraft shown below. The only way to speed up that process would be for me to send the unfinished 3D models to Veltro2K and let him complete them. As he already has commitments of his own, I doubt if that is practical? -
Does anyone have any info for the Martinsyde cockpit? I can't find anything, so I'd appreciate hearing from someone who has some photos, drawings, whatever. Thanks ahead of time.

Thanks. My hitch in the USAF was spent maintaining the B-52's radar controlled gun system, so I get a little gonzo when it comes to armament systems. That's why I love First Eagles' two-seaters!

Making good progress on the Martinsyde. When released, the pack will have two artwork folders - hi-res textures (shown) and lower res textures for guys with older computers.

Still rough, but making good progress on the new Martinsyde G.100 for the Palestine mod.

The standard game light settings seem a bit murky. Perhaps a necessary compromise for changing weather conditions? As normal desert weather is "severe clear" I changed my light settings in the ENVIRONMENTSYSTEM.INI. By increasing [Day1] SunLightLevel to 1.25 from 0.95, the results look more like desert sunshine. Shot was taken in Steven1918's Palestine mod, now being tested.

'Tis a fine madness!

ojcar wrote the Halberstadt was not used in Palestine, but will he include it in some "what if" missions. He also requested an AEG C.IV and a replacement for the Martinsyde G.100/102 that ARE needed for the Palestine mod. I found several photos of No 14 Squadron loading twelve - gasp! - TWELVE Coopers bombs on their Martinsydes in Palestine. A second Lewis gun was a standard factory fitting, but was generally removed by the users as it was nearly impossible for the pilot to both fly evasively and shoot accurately at the same time. Steven1918 agrees it should be possible to set up the flexible Lewis as a phantom gunner with a very limited field of fire and the competency of a drunken blind man. Useless, but fun.
