Thanks, guys.

Yesterday, I spent a frustrating morning trying to introduce new pilots into FE2. The best I was able to do was black figures, devoid of skin artwork, that were located correctly in the cockpit and whose heads would swivel correctly. I had named the new pilots "ww1PilotNew1", "wwiPilotNew2", etc. I give up - do any of you guys know how to associate a new pilot with a specific aircraft.........or with all aircraft in general? Thanks ahead of time.

Really nice work! The irregular look of the city was worth the long, tedious effort. Is the blue train the Orient Express?

Yeah - we'd love to see some screenshots!

Some of the desert-specific stuff.

Re-posting this after CA's hardware hiccup. I've made desert versions of the balloon winches and AA guns for the Palestine mod.

The smart/fast way to make stationary aircraft would be to start with a complex 3D model of a flyable aircraft and then simplify it. I'll contact Steven1918 and see what he has laying around - maybe I use some of his 3D models as a starting point for some simplified models? No promises, but this is a good idea so I will look into it.

Yes, the BE.2c is flyable - it is available from CA downloads and I should finish the new textures soon-ish. The Halberstadt will be flyable when I finally finish it. Making some aircraft that are parked or undergoing maintenance is an interesting idea. No way can I make over a hundred different types, but I could probably make roughly a dozen generic machines that could be placed around an airfield. Photos show that older aircraft were still used in 1918 for second line duties, so 1916/1917 looks like it might be the "sweet spot" for stage props? Does anyone know if decals can be applied to ground and terrain objects? I doubt it, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Predator and prey. Took a break from the Halberstadt and started new textures for the BE.2c

Thought I'd post an explanation why the 1930s airfield objects include a paved ramp - most airfields were still grass. Even major airfields would only have a paved area in front of hangars or terminals - the "runways" were still grass right out of WW1. See sample photos below. First shot is Shanghai in 1937, and second shot is March Field around 1938.
