Slartibartfast replied to Gepard's topic in The Pub
Well testing equipment that has to deal with what his sleigh needs to do is a fraught business though what the wife and elves packed is a mystery until the 25th December... -
Well downloaded it and will start the warm up sessions, single player. looks kinda fun to be honest...

FW-190 round count?
Slartibartfast replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - World War II Forum
From my understanding if we are talking about the nose guns on the FW my data suggest its more in the 475 rounds area per gun and this was pretty much across the board on all FW-190's from the A series to the Dora's as to the wing guns not so sure sorry. As to the wings the FW had the ability to pack more into the wing crazy thing has more cannons in it than a pirate ship... and Herr Tank had a good habit of loading lots into his airplanes that didn't seem possible but the 1000 rounds in the wing guns does seem rather a lot... -

Ranging "Radar"?
Slartibartfast replied to Snailman's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Okay on which aircraft are we talking about as I know some mount the Ranging Radar and it automatically locks on under .3nm or .5km and is normally only associated with gun only armed aircraft, your crosshairs then start to move and give you a prediction on were your gun shots will land. -

Funny Stories and Stupid Questions in SF2
Slartibartfast replied to saisran's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Been hit by all manner of Heatseekers... but whats worse is when your dogfighting a Mig-17/19 in an A-4 going for guns and you get taken out by an Aim-9B!!! whilst you have about 6g on the jet. Also I still haven't learned not to go nose to nose with Mig's in gunless F-4's as I keep losing... -

Slartibartfast replied to comrpnt's topic in The Pub
About fecking time... this should not have even gone to trial. It's crazy they didn't even take into account his injuries or so it seems... sorry I don't know the in's and out's on this one too much but from what I have read it seems as though they were doing it to make an example... -
J-15s landing on new Chinese Aircraft Carrier
Slartibartfast replied to MigBuster's topic in Military and General Aviation
The phrase here guys is Numbers have a quality all of their own... also the Chinese operate differently to the western military in that they look at a different way to defeat their opponents aka the DF-21 (That will hit the carriers further out than the carriers can attack) I know that the chances of a hit are on the low side at present but all it takes is one to get through and that is one boat in serious trouble... Also the are not worried about the timescale whereas we in the west want it now whereas they are happy to wait until we have dismantled all our weapons as being too costly and then wipe out the dinghy with the water pistol that is left... -
J-15s landing on new Chinese Aircraft Carrier
Slartibartfast replied to MigBuster's topic in Military and General Aviation
Not since they got rid of the Harrier's if you read some of the weather they flew in down in the Falklands you could call that Adverse weather... I spent 4 months there in the late 90's and they do go in for Adverse weather down there and then some!!! Boxing Day night Bermuda shorts and and Hawaiian Shirts New Years Eve/Day had to dig ourselves out of the snow... and that's just summer and as to the wind the only tree's down there are planted in Concrete... The RN are going to have to relearn all of these lesson's again if they get the Carriers and the Jets to go with them...
