  1. Cracked me up

Laugh I almost fell of me chair... I have various versions of this... Hitler running Vista and they lose his VFR and get him a BM...... W and most of them are funny...
  2. Well for the Eel's you could try the east end of London for the Jellied Eel's... and you could be right about American food it is rather partial to leaving more weight than could be expected...
  3. As to the patch cant wait as the current ODS is fantastic and I spend many an hour or 12 getting lost over the dunes chasing after the nefarious camels carrying WMD's... But seriously this campaign is very well done and I would think it brilliant if the Italians and even dare I say it the French where involved but I can understand... but would have been nice oh well cant have everything... Also Congrats to all the people on creating this mod again as an outstanding job has been done... Of course Italian food is better... At least for what I have tasted whilst on holiday in Garda and the surrounding areas as well as when on Det in Brindisi back in the 90's... Yet the food I have had in France just seems as though the French are trying too hard... Agincourt... ooops thinking out loud and wrong place for it... ( ) Only Joking before anyone gets annoyed...
  4. I havn't played a WW1 flight sim since my Amiga days... but found this link on the BBC news website that you ladies and gents might be interested in :- http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7952995.stm Also has the IPlayer link on it as well.
  5. Interesting idea... I will admit. Can you fly as England as well as the Celtic Nations? As the George Cross on a Eurofighter would look splendid...
  6. What if....

Now that was amusing... and working in IT makes it doubly so...
  7. I have noticed that when going Mig-29 to Mig-29 it gets interesting fast... My usual methods are to stay low and choose when to engage. With the 29 I generally like to get in as close as I can to negate BVR missile's and to maximise my jets abilities over the enemy... Learn your strengths and learn your weakness and then learn your opponents abilities and weakness's and then play on your strengths and your opponents weakness's E.g. Mig-29 Strengths Close in Combat Weakness BVR F-4 Strengths BVR Weaknes Close in Combat I know the above is very very simplified. But I have taken a flight of F-14's with a Mig-29A while I was on a single ship recon. Purely by getting in close (saying that 1 F-14 was a blue on blue...). I stayed low and kept my speed up and then took the offensive once in Archer range and then closed to the knife fight in the phone box and I didnt get hit by either a Phoenix Sparrow or Winder they got close but not quite... Only I didnt get home as I ran out of fuel. Forgot that one Mig-29 weakness fuel load. But no matter what your opponent is flying within reason to what your driving but dont expect to win everytime with a Mig-21 against a F-22 sometimes though you might... but that comes down to luck
  8. My apologies haven't read me books again but would love to see the Bucc in FSX as I only have the Alphasim one to keep me occupied and that one burns fuel too fast and can be a pain as its converted from 2004... Also for all you Banana fans out there there is a new book coming out in April on the Banana.... when they did ops in the Carribean... Phoenix Squadron by Rowland White more info on the following link also has info on just about every major military British Jet as well... http://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk/contents.php There is also the story of a Banana and a Tornado flying from Lossiemouth Northern Scotland to Cyprus the Banana refuelling the Tornado once on the way there and the Tornado landing low on gas while the Banana when for a fly round the island and still landing with a decent amount of juice on board.... and as to low flying I seen it and still have trouble believing it!!!
  9. Windows XP can only read a max of between 3 and 4gigs of Ram and that includes your Video card as well. Those wonderful folks at Microswipe messed up there me thinks there is a fix to get it to read everything you have but I dont have it to hand at present... also it involves using parts of Windows Server 2003... and a few other bits and bobs...
  10. Okay Bucc's never had clearance for Guns Recce pod in the bomb bay or 4 1000lb's or fuel 4 wing racks for anything you could find lying around... Laser bombs drop tanks Sidewinders Jamming pods Rockets more bombs Instant Sunshine bombs you get the idea... Would be great to go low level on Anti-ship with 4 Eagles and 4 1000lb's the bombs could be used to scare off Fighters... dropped at low level and going off in a fighters face is gonna make him want to re-evaluate his reasons for flying if nothing else... This last one was a valid tactic for a Buccaneer or Flying banana. Personally I would love an S-1 and the S-2 (S-2 preferably that way we get RAF as well) but the Bucc S-2 RAF could carry Martel so she would have had the same wing setup as the Navy S-2. So how long ??? 2 Weeks ????
  11. Okay just another line here... Downloaded the Export Pack now went up the Mig-29G on the ole Intercept and what do I get to contend with Mig-29 - CZ escorting a flight of Su-22 !!! Time to forget about everything got so caught up chasing a Mig-29 - CZ that I forgot I was supposed to be shooting down Su-22 ended up a guns fight or should I say a knife fight in a phone box... until a SAM came to pay a visit or 3 and there I was having a good time... Thanks again for these jets the Airspace over Europe is getting damn spicy... do I shoot them or drool over them... Fine work... Followed this up with another knife fight in the phone box with Mig-29SMT or is that Mig-35's I lose the track of them...
  12. Holy Smoke... or should that be Comrade Smoke... gets to work 9 hours ago scans through the net and whats waiting a whole raft of Mig-29's... set the download up and then twiddled me thumbs for a few hours... Get home eat unpack Mig's and go fly... Damn these are impressive... and whats even better is my PC runs em great!!! first sortie 2 v 4 against A-7K's with Mig-29A CCCP well ya just gotta... and the FPS are having a ball runs better than FSX!!! and I get to shoot things.... anyway the A-7K's wheren't exactly that tough... so going back to hunt me some eagles... or to be honest whatever turns up.... anyway fulcrumtastic work on these... you wait months for a TMF product and when it arrives it delivers in spades buckets and whatever else you want... you know these are almost too pretty to shoot down...
  13. Bear over Canada

What else could you say about the Lightning style style and more style...
  14. Thats the one... And as there are a few Japanese Jets roaming around how about throwing some of these in... F-4EJ and F-15CJ... Just a thought though... Sounds good to me... And yes it's Red Phoenix... and was a very well written imho book and I am sure the USN kept a carrier loitering out there during storm...
  15. One word... EEL's They've even got me saying it... and dont mention ze var.... SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM etc...
  16. Where's the Heavy metal music to go with it was thinking Iron Maiden??? And is it Eel equipped ??? But its looking like the year of the heavies at this rate... so where's the Backfire???
  17. Queen Elizabeth Class Carrier

Okay the Barrel on the side of the Seaking as you put it is the Searchwater Radar used for AEW duties. Fitting the slingshot as you also delicately put it was in one of the designs but they have gone with the STOVL F-35 to be honest imho it would have been better putting catapults on that way the ship could carry E-2's with better radar coverage and also allow a wider range of jets to be used in case the STOVL F-35 doesnt work or gets canned... The Ramp is so that the STOVL F-35's can launch with a greater payload... Next....
  18. IE7 slows forum..but Google Chrome whizzes!

I use the Fox even though you are downloading something once a week it works. As to Microswipes Interweb thingy... as above so slow an ashmatic ant carrying heavy shopping uphill would out run it...
  19. The high hovering is due to the aircraft hovering out of ground effect but not sure that ground effect is in Wings over not sure if wind is modelled to be honest all I know is that hovering is very good at practising your fine control of aircraft...
  20. Dont ask me never seen it either... my wing leverler is me being delicate on the stick...
  21. If your after a real life book to read MPPD by a real harrier driver there's an excellent one by Commander 'Sharkey' Ward called Sea Harrier over the Falklands. He flew and got 3 kills while down there in 1982 so I would think he know's his stuff. As far as I am concerned there are pro's and con's with all aircraft and yes manpad's can cause an issue with a Harrier. But in air combat as the USMC 'bless em' they did ACM against F/A-18's in the Phillipines and they beat the F/A-18 in a knife fight more often than not. Also there is a report that's in the book above that Harriers in a knife fight would beat an F-15 more than not as well. It got to the point I think that the F-15 drivers would prefer to fight the aggressor squadrons... which the Harrier's beat as well I dont have the hard data as the books in storage but it's there. Also I would like to thank the Harrier community in general for getting me out of trouble and not in the game... I still owe a couple of bottles of scotch... and as to the comment balancing an Elephant on a needle yeah thats what I have heard as well... tends to focus the mind... Anyway enough remembering time to get sim flying....
  22. Try throwing a Phantom of the end of a Tarawa or Wasp class... Also the jet can carry a good amount of weapons on a Short-take off which is still shorter than most aircraft. Okay it has its problems so does the F-4 but if we all wanted the perfect plane then no-one would fly. Personally I love the Harrier as it's got me out of trouble a couple of times... but the US Marines purchased it in the 1970's because there was nothing out there that they could use. They then spent time money and effort to make it what it is today. Sorry I get vexxed that people say we shouldn't have bought that or that or done that... The Harrier as it stands is a a technical marvel of aviation in my humble opinion and a great warplane. Rant over...
  23. As to the SAAF Cheetahs from 1991 they where rebuild's of the South African Mirage IIICZ's with Israeli help as they where powered by the ATAR engine out of the F-1's that the SAAF purchased in the 1970's as there was a plan to put RD-33 (engine out of the Mig-29) engines into the F-1's. There was a test aircraft but no others where built as no-one was showing much interest. As to some of the aircraft in the list's I think a Squadron of high performance jets to counter Mig-21's/23's might be a good idea but use something like the Nesher as the Israeli's around this time where switching over to Kfir. And as the Nesher was practically a Mirage III but with Israeli Avionic's and weapons they would be ideal and as they are for Air Superiority you could put them in metal or leave them in Israeli Camo but just change the insignia and make it look as though they have just been provided or being flown by contractors... ie ex Israeli pilots ??? Also could do the same with the SA'AR... as I dont think the Roadies would object to a slightly used war weary jet as they would be going cheap... especially as the Israeli's wouldn't mind on selling them to a potenially friendly ally... But thats my 2pence worth... Saying that though some of the repaints are looking especially good given that these aren't the finished articles as well. Also well done on an area where we never get to see any air combat...
  24. They look like an express delivery of instant sunshine for Moscow in mid winter and the Soviet's dont want sunshine to ruin their snowballing fun...
  25. True but isnt it more fun to do it all for yourself...
