British Summertime
Slartibartfast replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
... well I got the only day of Summer when I was back in Blighty for a day must have been the Beta test or something... July the 3rd got sunburnt... Managed to ride all the way back to Vienna in glorious wall to wall blue skies... -
Greetings and salad dressings to you all... Okay after my poetic outburst would it be possible to have a sticky created for such as those that want to write a prose or 3 to our gentle art of flying over the fields of Flanders... I know sometimes it is great to read some of them without having to go a searching as there ar esome great authors here... A place not for the after action reports but for those days when its too tiring to fly but when one wants to write a note etc... I know for most this is not a big thing but for some of us it is part of the experience that we have.

The OFF Poetry Corner
Slartibartfast replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
After the last one I decided on opening up my notebook that I carry with me and transcribing some of my musings and ramblings here... As a long distance motorcyclist of years gone by and beginning again I have found a notebook an invaluble friend on the road. It allows you to write when at rest as sometimes its moments like these that awaken something inside... From the ground to the skies From the ground we watch As from up on high A deadly dance is started The brightly coloured Hun Versus the Drab Crumpet above As we stand here in the mud Watching the deadly piroutte Which seems so clean to us Down here standing transfixed with the above And then a Spark from nothing An Airplane does fall shooting across the sky A star in the bright of day Whoever it is a pray we over up To those who dance above Then when it is all done The silence falls upon the ground And we find the fallen Bury him with honours And let the other side know That their brother Is interred below Eternally hidden in the mud From the sky above But worry ye not As he is flying the skies In his chariot Drab or Bright To his comrades delight May their engines never falter As they cavort up in the yonder And may they land at last To be amongst their own Until the very last -

Or some could say fools never differ... either way a Sticky would be perfect as it will be the place all the budding and not so budding poets and writers could leave their own mark no matter how small or large... -
I am with you on that one Storm... I must admi though I have few payware's but my favourite is Air Hauler as it gives a goal and can be made as challenging or not as the case maybe... I look into Flightsim.com and a few others which I have gathered over the years but to me flightsim.com has stopped being the place it used to be where it provided you a wealth of new freeware etc... one site I love to use is PAD as they create to their own schedule etc and mostly some of the more obscure planes. The scenery though is a pain trying to find a good one worldwide is tough for freeware and you can end up spending hundreds on it where as in FS2004 it seemed as though the Freeware guys where trying to beat each other with what they could do next...

Happy Birthday guys...

Here we stand before the dawn Another flight for freedom Our foes await across the field In these skies of blue we live Blazing out of the sun they came Spandau's stuttering as they dived And a friend fell To his fiery death below Avenged him we did And sent him a flyer to drink with In these skies of blue where we die May we be remembered not for our courage But for what we did over those Flanders Fields In the time of war we flew In these Skies of Blue where we eternally fly Now altogether beneath the sky We are brothers no matter race or creed For we all flew those skies of Blue This was something I wrote on my ride home from England to Vienna... as I rode down through Germany as I sat for awhile under blue skies... Don't ask me where my inspiration came from because I know not naught on this... This humble work I dedicate to all the flyers of all nations who have lived and died and the ones to come this way in years to be... The work is mine it is not as good as Lou or Olham's work or many others but I wish to say something...

Hmm not sure then though I would uninstall the Scenery and try it afterwards... sounds like the ILS listing has got messed up to me though... as its affecting more than one jet etc...

Strike Fighter 3?
Slartibartfast replied to famine's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
There is another game in the works not sure when though... And as far as we know it is based on the F-14 Tomcat though other details to my knowledge are sparse. I don't think it will be multiplayer though. -
Must admit I fly it a lot at present playing with Airhauler... Does this happen for all jets or one specific one ? Also does this affect all airports ? Changing the sound will not be the issue... Adding the Airport though that might as it will probably modify the file with the ILS in it... Was it a freeware or a bought airport if freeware let me know which one and I will do a check on my end for you...
