  3. 63 and Tired

63 and I'm Tired This should be required reading for every man, woman and child in the UK, United States of America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand . "I'm 63 and I'm Tired" By Robert A. Hall I'm 63. Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I've worked, hard, since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven't called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there's no retirement in sight, and I'm tired. Very tired. I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it. I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honour"; of Muslims rioting over some slight offence; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari’a law tells them to. I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and mandrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America and Canada , while no American nor Canadian group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia to teach love and tolerance. I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate. I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off? I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of both parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor. I'm real tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems. Yes, I'm damn tired. But I'm also glad to be 63. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my granddaughter. Robert A. Hall is a Marine Vietnam veteran who served five terms in the Massachusetts State Senate. There is no way this will be widely publicised, unless each of us sends it on! This is your chance to make a difference. "Never complain about growing old, far too many people have been denied that privilege".

  8. 63 and Tired

I am not 63 but 39 and a lot of this rings true... I have spent 10 years in military service for Her Majesty and it annoys me that in the UK 60% of the homeless in London are ex-servicemen (The real homeless the ones who don't beg) and the government just throws them away... Also guys and girls no screaming or even mild shouting because this states something you do not like... Also I am not the Author... it was sent to me by my Dad of all people!!!
  9. 63 and Tired

My apologies first off I do not want to cause offence. Just it was an interesting read. If to gets out of hand please move it or delete it...

  11. Happy Birthday Gr.Viper

    Happy Birthday
  12. Trying to get out of the Virtual cockpit more.

Must admit I am now getting back into shape myself my morning walk to work is 20 minutes whereas if I use the Ubahn (Metro, Underground) it takes 15 minutes and then walk home I also then walk round the Island I call home the 2nd District in Vienna along the up to the River Danube down to the Donau Canal and back round its a perfect loop to walk on a Sunday morning to get the old body working again. My issue though is I had a bad day with a Parachute rupturing both knees so I have to take it fairly steady though saying that thankfully my job is no longer deskbound and I have to do a lot of walking in the office and I never use the lift and I am feeling a whole lot better for it... only downside due to a lot of stress I took up smoking again after quitting for 4 years for the 5th time... DOH!!! anyway going to keep this up and see what happens... thankfully I am about 2 stone over where I was 12 years ago so its not too bad. Just annoyed I cannot talk up jogging as my knees are to busted... I wish you all the luck Viper...
  13. How come not a lot of modding?

Looking at the work that has been done in P3 it truly is amazing and if I did any modding it would only be after I had survived a campaign to see if there was anything better to do... So far I have managed a month and most times a lot less... Also as has been said the few mods there are are usually extremely well put together and made... But isn't skinning also a mod and mostly the people here do that... Also why mod as I see it something that is nearly perfect seems a waste of time... Okay there are some things that are out like the medals but I can live with that as the developers know about it... And as P4 is due out it would be a waste of effort...
  14. Britain says goodbye to Nimrod

Well the 9 airframes are refurbished from the MR2A which is a refurbish of the MR1 some of these airframes are old. Also each one is unique. Granted I don't like the idea of this as they spent 4 Billion pounds on them. But Britain as an Island nation needs a Maritime patrol plane to cover her shores and the deep ocean areas also they are useful overland as well. So why they didn't just bite the bullet and by the P-8's instead I don't know, well I do actually BAe Chairmen is friendly with certain members of parliment so its back handers all the way. As to them being brand new this is a fallacy the computers on board are from the 90's. The fact that they are already being scrapped so shortly after the decision makes me wonder why though... RAF should buy 20 P-8's at 160 million a pop and as its based on the 737 parts for them would be cheap, well after they add the extra 0 to the part costs... still be cheaper than parts for a Nimrod which would have to be hand made... Love the idea that they say its okay we can cover the job they do with an E-3 or Type-23 Frigate or Merlin Helo... granted the E-3 can do the surface surveillance job but thats a crazy idea as the RAF only has 8 of them and using the C-130 well it can go look and talk and drop freight on them but thats it. The RAF/RN need a dedicated Maritime patrol plane for the area they need to cover... its getting like the Aircraft Carriers they can have them just no Jets to fly from them...
  15. The other issue that I can see is that everytime you downloaded a file you would also have to check to see if its updated which could be tiresome shall we say... especially if you are downloading a few files. I like it the way it is that way I know that the file is the latest file. Just my 2 cents worth...
  16. Oh man thats funny... lets take a 1980's movie and nick the best bits... So does this mean that China are fighting imaginery Jet fighters now as well... !!!
  17. Britain says goodbye to Nimrod

    Definitely...
  18. Britain says goodbye to Nimrod

No its a culture that has built up in the UK with people living on the Government money and never having worked because they cannot be bothered to work as they have seen that their parents never worked and grew up in council estates etc and see it as an easy live... for me it just part of the problems of living in the UK and all the other problems. Which is why I now live and work in Vienna.
  19. Britain says goodbye to Nimrod

Next question its just a government that wants to save money and is doing it the wrong way round they should quit paying those too lazy to work before attacking the military... Also as they want Trident to keep going longer than planned it seems not having the cover for them with Nimrods in deep water means it will tie up the new SSN's which will cost more in the long term... Also as we are an island we need a decent Maritime Patrol Aircraft as helo's are limited to 200 miles etc even for the Merlin... What people don't realise is that the Nimrod was used to cover the Oil Rigs aid in Search and rescue out in the deep ocean where helo's cannot get to etc. Retasking an E-3 to do this role is stupid as we have barely any of them. Granted the Nimrod MR4 was a waste of money when we could have bought the new MPA from the states for less money and get a good upgrade in terms of equipment and then tailor it to accept Stingray and even Storm Shadows... Rant over...

  21. OT: Graphics Card Woes

What PSU do you have in your PC ? And is it possible to install a more powerful power supply ? As that would then give us an idea on what card to suggest.
  22. Laid off from work

I wish you the best of luck in finding another job soon... Sorry to hear it.
  23. Apologies was flying SF2 damn these forums I get confused with which way which is somedays... didn't help I was up at 5am yesterday and today...
  24. OT: Graphics Card Woes

Sounds to me like the card is on the way out. Does the fan ramp up when you are running high end graphics like in COD ? The clean out could have just cleared the fan etc but it sounds as I said like the card is on the way out...
