  1. Nah, I'm just a geek and I have google Luiz, remember the mantra of the first F-15's: "Not a pound for air-to-ground!". F-15A was designed as a pure fighter, with guns and Air-to-Air missiles only. But this is the Strike Fighters world where we can do anything we want with the right .ini edits. So don't let it stop you if that's what you want to see on F-15A's in your missions
  2. Yep, F-15E was a favourite carrier of them, and the F-111, thanks to them having very good AG radar resolution. The radar picks out the building, then the bomb camera picks which window of the building Walleye is basically the same as GBU-15 but only 500lb bomb. Also I think it didn't have as much range as the GBU, and was developed mainly by US Navy. Employment of both in the sim is the same as mavericks though - lock, launch, leave - sadly lacking the need to 'fly' the bomb yourself. Anyone else remember Jane's USAF? or F-15? HOBOS was an earlier version of GBU-15, it lacked the data-link so couldn't be steered once it was launched.
  3. The GBU-15 was designed to be launched several miles from target, then guided by a pilot or WSO via a data-link while the aircraft flew away from the target area. A camera in the nose of the bomb relays the position of the bomb relative to it's target. Remember those videos of bombs picking which doors and windows to fly through in Desert Storm '91? They were GBU-15's, launched into heavily defended areas while the aircraft remained safely outside SAM/fighter range. If you edit hardpoint data in the A-10 to allow EO/TV guided munitions of the necessary size & weight, then add some GBU-15 to the squadron supply, they should show up.
  4. Damnit, I fire up SF again to get a break from Falcon and then you go and release this!
  5. Never heard of an A-10 carrying a GBU-15. On account of the A-10 being an 'in-your-face' kind of aircraft, lacking long-range sensors, and the GBU-15 being all about stand-off attack
  6. Tantobot, when you get the new HUD working properly would you be so kind as to release it as a fix? I could do it myself now FastCargo has explained how, but it seems you're further along already...
  7. The Tornado cockpit update only adds a depressed reticle sight to the existing HUD, it unfortunately does nothing for the next-to-useless HUD tapes that tantobot is trying to replace with the CCIP HUD. I think the problem you're having may be a transparency/opacity issue, check your fill colour settings in PS. maybe the alpha channel needs adjusting too. Whats really needed is a straight replacement of the HUD in the ini file for something readable.
  8. Looking good, Kreelin. Nice flying of the Harrier too
  9. Your eyes are playing tricks on you, Spectre? That's 2x MER & 2 x TER for 18 Mk.82's. Flying the Phantom with that much iron, you do think your joystick is directly connected to the laws of physics, and the aircraft isn't really helping much
  10. Nice job, I'll enjoy flying this. Given the large number of required add-ons, would it be easier to provide them all as a complete package?
  11. She looks just great, Gux. Great work so far
  12. AA-9 AMOS

Phoenix-ski! If they shoot these at you, you want to be somewhere else, very fast Had a lot of fun dodging them in Flanker 2
  13. Bombing run

Nice, did you frag yourself there, Dante? The Harrier pulls off-target trailing engine smoke I think.
  14. Following the instructions Here, I just started a campaign from the carrier, but when the mission loads, my flight has crashed into the sea, and there is no carrier anywhere in sight. What's wrong with the tutorial?
  15. I read that review a couple of weeks ago when my subscription copy of PCZ was delivered. In my opinion, the review was exactly what I would have expected from a magazine whose journalists are more concerned with upgrading their spells than getting a guns kill 15 seconds after the merge. PCZ is just not a 'flight-sim-friendly' magazine. the writers have no passion for air combat, instead they literally masturbate over female elves, as if trying to excuse their own behaviour. I cancelled my subscription the same day.
  16. When men were men, and targets were... unlucky, not just 'marked for death with a laser spot'
  17. You all forgotten about 'JSF'? That game featured both experimental types. Wasn't much cop though, EF2000 and ADF/TAW blew it away. Yes, I have a long memory :slow(en): IMO despite all the technical merit the Boeing airframe displayed, it never stood a chance of being the chosen one because those doing the choosing were Pilots, and thus very sensitive to their own image being impaired when identified with the flying guppy-fish As goes the old saying - "If it looks right..." But it never did. Incidentally, is there a SF Eurofighter Typhoon in progress anywhere?
  18. HUD

Thanks for the tip. But why did you resize them to begin with?
  19. Try a re-install and use only the latest patch and service pack. I had similar problems with an updated 'old' install of SFG, it CTD'd every time until I re-installed from scratch.
  20. Gripen

    Sweden, maybe?
  21. Chinese groundcrew must be very forgetful if they need 'REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT' flags that big!!
  22. Even better, go here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=12137
  23. F-111-A, Combat Lancer, somewhere over North Vietnam (DRV) Almost every picture I've seen of 'Varks in Vietnam has the ECM pods loaded, but by default you can't hang them on it in SF. I couldn't let that stand. After much scouring of the various data files, and this forum, I found the solution. There's an error in F-111A_DATA.INI which prevents the pods being loaded on the stations, the length limit of the ECM stations is 2.85, but in WEAPONDATA.INI, the pod is 2.96. Made the adjustment and they magically appeared Who'd be a data analyst huh
  24. 'Vark ECM pods

Checking the export box will work, but you will still need to adjust the hardpoint length limit to accomodate the pod.
