  1. coming soon

why dont you just ask for an in house Connie while youre at it mean while back to this, gonna have to look at those sky truck books once again. hopefully there's a few more post service users than Bolivian meat haulers
  2. revisiting an old mod that set me down my current path..... now with nose arts cool thing is, given my fetish for camo as tga, the Shamu can be draped over both the blue and white and the current grey schemes effectively. dont judge the SAC band, still getting things dialed in
  3. i've thought of setting that up for USAF Phantoms (different camos) and USN (weathering) it would be a challenge that im not rushing to at the moment.................
  4. more notes rereading your post... the gray scheme was called Hill 1 (three tone) and Hill 2 (two tone). it was originally planned to do the 3 tone and some made it through depot like that. oddly, it seems to be cheaper and take less time to do a two tone scheme any Hasegawa kits and instructions you may have laying around will show the layout out for you (the F-4C/D "Egypt I" kit iirc). think it was my first intro long ago that Phantoms didnt just come in SEA colors
  5. few statements on this first, i thought Sundowner had a D template or J template. me thinks they'd work better than the E second the colors depended on where the bird was on the depot cycle and mission set. Generally (but not always) the FISs did ADC grey or a variation, while the TFSs were the camo of the day. but the camo could be mixed (remember that depot cycle?) and sometimes the FISs got camo'd birds too. yes its a mess if you want 100% (or even 90%) accuracy https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=ANG+Phantoms&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_osacat=0&_odkw=SGT+class+b+epulat+rank this link highlights some pics. was looking for one book in particular, but this ebay search seems to have a good mix of images for research too check pm in a few mins
  6. they beat me to it. there are Gen1 F-16s that might (heavy emphasis on might) work with what you have however i strongly reccomend you get the original goods at Thirdwires site. it took me about 18 months to get everything buying over time, but it may be coming down in price with the new version coming (the old version works fine in most Windows 10 sytems tho) just get what interests you at first, then fill out the collection for other things. Given your interest in the F-16, I'd start with SF2 Israel as it has a stock F-16 Netz, then go from there
  7. that is the generic answer. was waiting to see if he downloaded a F-16 that needed the TW lod into say a SF2 Europe install.....
  8. Super Sunday

Super Tweet from Battle Creek coming up on IP which one of you jokers made the enemy HQ so damn big?
  9. when you ask questions, be as precise as you can with what you are asking. screenshots also help us to see what is going on for the above, what aircraft is not showing up? what version of SF2 are you running, SF2, SF2Europe, SF2Vietnam etc? if more than one, include all versions you have. without at least that info not much we can do to assist
  10. 2020 air force. shouldnt assume gender of flying machines anymore
  11. huh, you caught orthodox players, i caught fetish players does this mean we have to rename the what if's to cosplay? or highlight the F-22 mods air dominance mission
  12. first off, welcome to CombatAce and the SF2 community at large as for the aircraft themselves, most modders esp. for SF2 package the mods so that you unzip the file, and then drop it into your mod folder. there are generally detailed instructions with most of the mods, and nobody has really used an exe for a mod in 9-10 years. Start your game then exit (or fly a mission with stock aircraft, your choice). This will create a mod folder in your Win10 Saved Games folder. opening up it should look like this open your mod folder until you see a similar layout. the new to you, downloaded mod will at least have an objects folder, it may also have other folders like sounds, effects etc. cut or copy and paste from the download folder to your mod folder this should put the new aircraft in game as for the drive you operate from, take a look at the options.ini in your mod folder. this may be created automatically in your C drive (where Windows automatically c Creates Saved Games folders), cut and paste to G if your wish. the highlighted file is the Options.ini. if you look at my preview on the right, the next to last "paragraph" that is titled [Mods] is what you will adjust. Make the Directory= (whatever drive you want):\Saved Games\Thirdwire\(your version of the game) the first time opening an ini, you will want to choose to open it with notepad, a standard Windows tool. not going to go into allowing overwrites at this time as your question specifies aircraft not stock in most versions. i hope this helps ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ to the admins, modders and other old heads here i actually went to the Knowledge Base with the intent of pointing and saying read but when i looked at the topics and read through them, i realized that someone with extremely limited knowledge of computers may in fact have a hard time. there is no Barney style explanation of loading a basic mod to a basic vanilla install. closest it comes is how to add a 3d party bird when there's already a stock one. Given BasBoss's question, i figured it was statistically unlikely they were trying to load a Netz mod. we do often say "go look it up" but we often presume a certain level of computer savvy for anyone playing this game. the beauty of the sim is that you really dont need more than "i can turn it on and get on the internet" level of computer smarts to just fly it. you do need more to mod it at any level tho. i know, long about 11 years ago i was on the Zoolander "the files are in the computer" level. still feel that way seeing some of you guys' work
  13. dude walking the bridge is a nice touch!
  14. ok. still got me to relooking at marcfighters old one, touching up the old skins and hunting nose arts. even figured out that the shamu works draped over the Douglas (white and blue) and all grey schemes, so only tga camo for half the fleet. looking big but not humongous as usual. its ugly, but what we have for now. and when yours does come out the shop, serials/ nose arts will be done.
  15. World Famous Baby......
  16. have you found a skinner for this bird yet?
  17. i dont mess with Vietnam anything as much to know the specifics but i'd say the decal ini needs replacing with stock as well if the wing insignia are tga, then it is in fact messed up. more likely (esp. if the insignia is on skin) its just not reading, given the lack of serial number on the tail
  18. a wiser head will probably prove me wrong but my understanding is this it is most certainly possible to edit the TERRAIN_nations.ini. i have done it myself to add my airliners nation to some terrains (so they would show up, created a new nation so they would fly in trail formations) the TERRAIN_nations with say who can fly within that given terrain. i do not recall year specific parameters within this ini though the overall NATIONS entry for that nation will state how long that air force operated for (start and if needed end dates). has the year specifics but in terrains the yare active the whole length, unless you start making a lot of subset nations (American volunteers 1940-1942 or some such). monkeying with the nations.ini too much would probably bust a bunch of installs (even with the warning to use it in a standalone install) and irk people i cannot think myself of a main way to limit in the fashion you want without a subset of aircraft. hopefully the other Kevin or someone else can prove me wrong
  19. What Caliber Weapon Is Needed To Kill These Things?

I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit...it's the only way to be sure
  20. that is correct. have to remind myself often when adding a new skin, or doing work on my desktop, then transferring to my laptop (which is actually the stronger one) any jpg and tga changes, and ini edits (like positions) will adjust without restarting the game, so long as you've started at least once and that skin (and associated tga) are now recognized in LODviewer
  21. awesome skin, but i always look forward to the back stories!
  22. German Bugs

true. but the Luftwaffe drove em harder in the 70s/80s and hasnt spent as much money to take care of them as the USAF has, esp with the B-52H fleet. most of the Hercs (who i guess you mean by Albert) that are contemporaries of the Tornadoes are E models and those are just about out of US service as well. as always, it boils down to money/maintenance hours. its what killed the Tomcat, why the USAF wants to retire 1/3 of the current batch of Bones, and why the Germans are retiring the Tornado. like i said, what suprises me is that they dont retire the nuclear mission with it. but then again, European politics is abit more academic for me
