well, have come into a decal problem thats baffling me. trying to put numbers on the nose gear doors on the FB-111A, and it shows up in Mues LODviewer, but not in game. have made sure names match, numbers are in range for the mesh, and tried every variant of DecalMaxLOD= from 1 to 4 and even completely removed. any ideas? these are the entries in the decal.ini [Decal012] MeshName=RightNoseGearDoor DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=FB-111A/SAC/D/noNumR Position=5.95,-1.075 Rotation=0.0 Scale=2.20 DecalMaxLOD=4 [Decal013] MeshName=LeftNoseGearDoor DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=FB-111A/SAC/D/noNumL Position=5.95,-1.075 Rotation=0.0 Scale=2.20 DecalMaxLOD=4 -

ok got it fixed. i had tried to do bottom as well, but forgot that the right side is positive not negative, so my coordinate of -0.32,5.95 was tryin to put it on the wrong door! still gotta dial in but problem solved it would have been really bad if i couldnt get that workin right, as the 509th BW put their nose arts on the doors! and nice gear doors amariani, but how long til the brass says to cover them up? -

Where was Maverick between Topgun 1 and 2?
daddyairplanes replied to Wizard43's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Screen Shots
after the onset of night blindness, he embarked on a career with the Judge Advocate General, including a famous case involving the Commanding Officer of Guantanamo Bay. He later had corrective surgery and was able to return to flight status. However, due to reverting career fields so late, he is effectively stalled in his career not to rise higher than O-6. Donald Bellasario also did a successful TV show based on his legal career, although the Marines were changed from litigants to co-stars There are rumors of a successful sheep dipped career with the intelligence community as well, but to date FOIA requests have all been denied. -

FM Question: What controls AI/autopilot landing behavior?
daddyairplanes replied to daddyairplanes's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
its the G_89 and H_88 model B-52s, both of which were missing LandingSpeed= entries. just set one up for the H at 0.5 below stall speed and works good now. -

Rivets or structure line ?
daddyairplanes replied to Coupi's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
generally rivets. but consider how big the aircraft is. the bigger the bird, the less likely rivets will meaningfully show up in game. at least not without either showing up the size of hamburgers, or having a jpg/bmp the size of a major metropolitan area. OK, j/k about metro area, but you'd need a 4096 on something the size of say a C-5 to get decent rivets lined up. and then it would still be barely noticeable in game (tho you'd know they're there) on that one tho, rivets should be fine i think -
B28 FI (full fuzed internal)
daddyairplanes replied to daddyairplanes's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Thank you! Had an epiphany of sorts with lay down delivery. Due to the size of the blast the RI was only cleared down to mid altitude ( no low altitude) releases any how. So i need to slow them down, but not near as much as an F. Working myself today, so will get going tonight or tomorrow -

i'd hold a minute Sheriff. waiting on word from Kjakker about the effects (unless anyone else knows where the KT030 and MT030 nuclear effects are ), and i made adjustments to the RI's so they actually slowed down in the game rather than continue forward. me being nitpicky me also renamed for historical accuracy (ie B28RI Mod 5 for the 1.4 MT) finally, as mentioned above the RI and FI were parachute retarded. the difference lies in that the FI had bigger chutes to allow a "soft" landing and 30 second delay for laydown delivery. the RI just slowed it down. not sure the game will allow the 30 seconds on the ground before detonating tho. i want to release the B28RI_350 with the latest BUFF pack mid month, so hopefully resolved by weeks end. as to all others, again awaiting word from kjakker -

nope technically not even the right branch it was (VERY) loosely styled off of USAF CPT Scott O'Grady's F-16 being shoot down in 95. https://theaviationgeekclub.com/f-16-down-scott-ogrady-explains-how-he-was-shot-down-over-bosnia/ he wasnt too happy with the movie and actually sued 20th Century Fox over Owen Wilsons portrayal of him (esp when the studio was claiming the film to be true to life) -

get with Sheriff again if you want them to participate in NATO Nuclear Sharing. there's some new B28s that he's already fit into his US naval Buccaneer.....
