Strike Fighters 2 Screenshots

not as clumsy or drab as an Antonov, this was an elegant airliner of a more colorful age.... (cause not all the quotes can be from Airplane!) -

SF2V / WOV Air & Ground Expansion Packs
daddyairplanes replied to eburger68's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
No worries, good thing you did as Eole will have tge Vietnamese Tweets ready this weekend ish. He set those up to match up with the pack as best as possible, mine (USAF) are geared to my squadronlist but will work fine (each skin calls unit marks by specific number TailCode696, RudderStripe632 etc). Other suggestions: Sandies escorting Jolly Greens, Marhuk missions in late 72 ( AH-1J anti ship putside Haiphong). -

depends on when and what air wing they were assigned to. i have a book on it, but it only goes to 1994 and VF-103 became The Jolly Rogers after VF-84 disbanded in 1995, so you need to look up between 95 and 05 (when they transitioned to Super Bugs) mandatory screenie -
Super Pack or Individual Wing or Squadron Packs?
daddyairplanes replied to Viper63a's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I like providing every historical possibility, and it is possible within a skin to have CAG/Wing King and line birds in the same skin. Super pack. But it does take alot of effort (F-4N was on and off for two years, the current DC-8 will prob be 6 months when finished) so I understand why some do single units only. The question is not which to do, but how uch do you like the subject matter to keep working on it. -

As someone pointed out elsewhere, English speaking peoples saw this about 140 years ago. The UK doesnt need as much artillery to rectify the situation this time around.

Squadron Decal Questions
daddyairplanes replied to cperleberg's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
ok seems it follows same protocol as SF2 series (TK did make em both) and if the squadron is not in the squadronlist screwiness will ensue. luckily, you can add to the squadronlist easily. pick a squadron from the same country as your chosen one, copy and paste to the end. change the names up, matching the syntax used with the others (7Esc or 19Sqn or whatever is needed) it makes life easier. you can add for a long time, in SF2 series i have a squadronlist.ini that goes to 2999 just fine. stock is to 405 secondly DecalLevel=1 controls your units, Level=2 is serial numbers. and finally for it to show you need to have at least 1 blank Level=1 decal in the folder or the grayness and screwiness will continue. of course if you have non blank decals to add that is much better. hopefully this helps, remember i work with stickers in the SF2 series but this should work the same. one other piece of advise, if a modded skin, you should want the filepath to be more detailed. something like FilenameFormat=SPAD\BrownSkin\sq for example. even the stock decals usually would be more like SPADsq than just sq. -
Unusual but cool F-4E/ QF-4E scheme
daddyairplanes replied to dtmdragon's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Basically....yes. it happens from time to time, just look at the BiCentennial F-4J with a F-4B nose (put to good use with an eagle on the radome. -
USAF A-37B Pack
daddyairplanes posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
File Name: USAF A-37B Pack File Submitter: daddyairplanes File Submitted: 10 June 2016 File Category: Other A-37B USAF Pack This is the current end point for two years worth of work. Centurion-1 began by creating a new model for the Super Tweet, several contributors later we are releasing it to you Included are decals, new J85 sound, an updated squadronlist.ini, appropriate weapons, and 3 versions of the aircraft. - A-37B: the original, as used by the USAF, Air National Guard, and several Latin American air arms. no refuel probe - A-37B (76): adds refuel probe, as used by US ANG and USAF Reserve units the second half of the 1970s - OA-37B: Final version as in US service, and as currently used by Latin American air arms. With refuel probe - Photoshop templates for those that want to bring the other air forces into play **********************************KNOWN ISSUES*********************************************************** -Cockpit is missing throttles. Unless Centruion1 returns this is unresolveable -Lod is locked in, unless Centurion-1 returns. -Modders: there is a bleed issue on the right side. any bands like the VNAF had need to be on skin, not tga. small decals like insignia work fine. -This mod uses my master squadronlist.ini. IF installed into another install with other than stock squadronlist, do not install. It will mess up the other things on your install and my mod is adapted to force the decals. NOTICE: this mod currently is AS IS and can only be modded by skinning and ini edits. It's not perfect, but its in house and therefore free. ******************************************************************************************************************************** Installation: drop into mod folders. allow overwrites if it comes up. Delete DAT version, this replaces and upgrades player experience. Modders, put the templates where you wish to work on them DON'T FORGET TO BACK UP BEFORE INSTALLING! ****************NOTE!!!!!! IMPORTANT NOTE ************************************************************* If you install this in a install that has eburgers SF2V Air & Ground Expansion Pack, DO NOT INSTALL THE PILOTDATA FOLDER!!!! This will overwrite the Squadronlist.ini in the pack and may break something. If you do not have the Air&Ground pack or NATO Fighters installed the new squadronlist ini will work fine and be a big improvement for units available. ********************************************************************************************************* References: Squadron/Signal A-37/T-37 Dragonfly in action Wikipedia Google Images Credits Centurion-1: original model, template and mapping work Crusader:Cockpit and data.ini tweaks Wrench:various FM and ini tweaks, original hangar screens Eole: Vietnamese versions (North and South), loading screens, additional template work, additional FM and ini work VA56Champ: tga work that helped expedite the process from Thai skins ravenclaw_007: all weapons except for the A-37 Tanks Daddyairplanes:USAF, Peru, Thai and Dhimar skins, final wrap up, template tweaks and decal.ini setup Engine sound: (F80Engine)currently unknown, if this was you let me know so I can give you proper credit. J85-2 sound added by Eole. Special Thanks for Wrench's advise on this project, Eole returning to bring up the Vietnamese, and Centurion for starting this bad boy. Matt, I hope you're doing ok wherever and whatever you're upto. This has taken place over two years time so if I have missed anyone please let me know and I will get you creditted ASAP I hope you enjoy this mod folks! Decal Covering Up Other Decal
daddyairplanes replied to maverickvf142's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Smaller amounts of bigger decals is the best way to go. I went a route for the F-4N that was inspired by mytai's work and did one decal for each side that had "NAVY", insignia, ship and squadron names all in one decal. Any special marks too like the bands on Jolly Rogers birds. Initial placement is a pain, but it is fairly easy after that. Also, I'll respectfully disagree with Wrench about too many Level 2 decals as my airliners essentially use tga for a skin (the airlines are the serial numbers). A trick also noticed in mytai's work was setting squadron markings to Level 2. He would have a SquadronDecal (no number) and SquadronDecal000 for the CAG bird. All the others would default to the one with no number. -
Decal Covering Up Other Decal
daddyairplanes replied to maverickvf142's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
i was thinking that too from the top one, some airliners and airlifters i've dealt with had similar quirks to the top pic. till wondering whats in the ini oh and so far it seems 75% of the time a TOP decal will be screwy (uncovering any mapping discrepencies and model oddities) when it straddles the centerline of the model. lord knows the amount of hair i pulled putting the refueling markings on the Starlifter and Galaxy -

Aftermath - Berlin 1945 (Colour Footage)
daddyairplanes replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
scene of the woman setting her table reminded me of a family living room in Kosovo back in early 2000..... although the Berliners wouldnt have been able to watch Sky 1 on a satellite dish in '45. same freaky dollhoue effect though -
Paulo- tried FB and here. Right now just hoping he'said ok Tommy2fast- due to not having the max file, we can't fix canopy animation, even tho it is in the data ini. Part of the nature of as is Bubu-will check it out, update next week with proper credits and choice of sounds Finally to all- i'very made a mistake and most of the weapons were ravenclaw'so, not killerbee'so. Credits will be fixed next week. -editted now that i'm looking at a proper screen and not a phone!
