SF2 Lockheed YF-12A "Starduster" (Veltro2K) Redux...
daddyairplanes replied to Viper63a's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Random mixes have to be called in the textureset, along with the total number and start (typically 000) and end points (0xx) As to your 5-6 types, what I do is have the most common as "decal", then the different ones as whatever they are in the lineup (decal007, decal014 etc). It will default to the standard decal unless the specific one is selected. Finally, I've grown to preferring to group most decals as serials. Like I said it will still select the main one but allows for differences (Like transports for MAC and then a few in the ANG) Kevin, i'm on my tablet on break from driving, otherwise I would show the lines for random decals -

daddyairplanes replied to dtmdragon's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
nice story, but i will disagree with you on this one. 138th TFS NY ANG had the GPU-5 pod when Desert Shield came up. they deployed without the pods. not sure if vibrations from firing were a reason, but couldnt have helped the triple launcher for the Mav's while cool in amount, created drag to the point they were rarely carried. more realistic esp for Fulda Gap scenario is 4x CBU and two Mav's so they can keep speed up and inflict damage over a whole formation of tanks rather than 6 individuals. again in service i dont think the gun pods would have been used much. poss replace by fuel tank or ECM depending on need. -

daddyairplanes replied to Stratos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
looking over the list again, it can be trimmed from a 6 page list to a 2 page list getting rid of duplicates and planes that are well in hand (Phantoms etc) or known WIP (new Hercs from Dels). I can only view and play with them in Max 15 myself at this time, but that can allow me to game out a plan of action on a few of these for when i can get Max 2009 -

can't remember where but think someone posted already, as i have that d/l'd already. still of some interest to me as 1. i do better with refurbishing than scratch creation and 2. there are several DAT titles in there. if done up here using those models, then it opens alot esp for Campaigns (Viggen and TSF come to mind ) -

Not sayin you cant skin them, just that you'll have abit more work than you thought/hoped for. Use mue's lod viewer and you can see your changes near real time -

daddyairplanes replied to Gulfwarfighter's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Wrench, back to airfields, can new ones be made that dont follow the stock pattern? yes i know it will be a major PITA placing things but you also know i've been pushin for joint civilain/mil fields and am relatively willing to put some grunt work into it (and yes ask a million questions while learning it!) -
Northrop Grumman win new Bomber contract (LRSB)
daddyairplanes replied to MigBuster's topic in Military and General Aviation
of course when the last B-3 (or whatever it will be designated) goes to the Boneyard, the crew will fly home on a BUFF good to hear the big three will be around though. i dont think the next gen trainer would have been enough to sustain Northrup Grumman. -
