Strike Fighters 2: Crisis in the Med
daddyairplanes replied to eburger68's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Some thoughts on your questions 82: pretty sure Greece wasnt back in the command structure yet. Greece and Spain have been in and out over the years. Turkey would have played although without a direct threat to soveriegnty would probably have needed enticement in form of more weapons. Kinda like how they participated in Desert Storm 86: not likely either. Everybody else in the world (at least publicly)didnt support our action there much hence why the Vaarks had to fly such a long route NATO allies wouldnt allow overflights). Although being a fictional campaign maybe Greece, Spain or Italy got a sweet deal again on some new military toy to allow forward basing. Otherwise its a primarily Navy show. There was a book some years back by the XO(?) of the Liberty Wing thar details the AFs prep for and execution of the raid. Goes in depth on the politics and pub opinion ofcthe times -

I'm recruiting people for this project
daddyairplanes replied to Peugeot205's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
True, im looking for good homes for my airliners. Instead of skinning the airline i do the as markingsas large 2 level tgas. Essentially the airline is the serial number therefore giving a wide variety parked on the ramp or at the gates. -

Any chance of dual civl/ military fields like Frankfurt/Rhein Main? Already have DC-10 and i'd be willing to front burner 767, 747 and 757 plus civi skins for a few transports if it were on the horizon. Have an airliner nation too, but how to make only them park at terminals I know its more eye candy than practical, but i've had a thing for the heavies of late..... -
Aircraft on flightline
daddyairplanes replied to Viggen's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
i think he meant the 100% chance parking line in hte airfield ini. at least i hope thats what he meant. otherwise revert to previous question stated above -
Aircraft on flightline
daddyairplanes replied to Viggen's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
yes but per previous other posts by Wrench, you'd be better off and less frustrated to setting a 100 percent chance of something parking there than placing each and every plane (72 placements if you have the whole wing there at once) -
Weapons compatibility
daddyairplanes replied to Saavedra's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
IIRC the Hueys as they currently are are either USMC or USAF. US Army didnt really become much of a community thing until Del's Apache and Yakarovs birds. try changing the Huey nation in the data ini. also the weapons correspond to what ever you as flight lead can carry. that you just have to decide what you want to do, although the Huey and HueyCobra should both be able to carry the 7 shot rocket pods. -

Of the options presented i like the bottom better. However looking at the skin why not an Aussie version of the RAF pale roundel? -

Back to hovercrafts... Well could be set up as a really low flying aircraft. Deploy tanks and trucks out the "cargo door" facing front, set up a "flight deck" cargo well to launch and recieve on the ship. Buuuut, where will we find eels? -

Callsigns - Must their choosing obey to any kind of rules?
daddyairplanes replied to Uhu's topic in Military and General Aviation
In game you just need a wav or it wont announce you IRL dependscon the era and circumstance. National Gaurd flights usually have callsigns reflecting the culture ( Jazz for Louisiana, Taco for New Mexico). In Desert Storm, Wild Weasel flights usaully had beer callsign. One day an Eaglecunit askedto switch for a day. Eagles got left alone and the Weasels racked up some more hard kills. -

The future of SF?
daddyairplanes replied to streakeagle's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Income simply means the abilityvto pay for license from TK (he wont let us run with his baby for free) and to get the modders to be able to work it full time. To make anything other than a patch or mod would require real time and most of us dont have that IRL due to job and family requierments. Plus such time would not reasonably be given w/o some form of compensation. That not even getting a multiplayer up and running based on SF2...... -
