The Mods Thread For Dillon
daddyairplanes replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
For the record SF2 series is working ok so far in WTP. First desktop that i loaded WTP was too weak to run SF, other than firing it up. Currently updatin a desktop to latest WTP build and throwin a full 5 merge install on that. Reports to follow... -
Waited too long to get it. 49.99 i could handle but thought the sale went through midnight the 2d, not midnight the 1st. Looks good tho And watch yourself Dave thats how the IJN lost at Midway all them birds rearmed at once......

RN Phantoms - Operation Corporate
daddyairplanes replied to Spinners's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
remember, reliability rates were down for missile loads on USN Phantoms due to repeated carrier landings, corrosion etc. and that was with the USNs spending levels, compared to the RNs in the late 70s early 80s. i see still a victory, but much harder one than should be, esp if the Exocet birds mass a strike against the carrier. who's going btw, original Ark Royal or HMS Queen Elizabeth? -
Strike Fighters 2 Screenshots
daddyairplanes replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Screen Shots
check out my F-4N pack. will help you with meshnames for placing decals on just about any part of the Phantom. and yes tail decals need to be placed on the tail and rudder, all other information stays same besides the meshname. mandatory screenie -
RN Phantoms - Operation Corporate
daddyairplanes replied to Spinners's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
Depends on what make of missle the phantoms were carrying and if the RN actually paid attn to the USNs experience over NVN from 65 to 73.... Also some that believe the Argentinisns wouldn't have even tried it if Britian had kept force projection capabilities like that.... -
RF-4B.....
daddyairplanes replied to daddyairplanes's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
again slick, will search for and pm ya files after christmas. i had gotten the slimers off the fuselage and tail but to do so on the wingtips leaves a hole in the model. one thing not tried is a dark decal to go over the self illuminating mesh. also gotta check because they defineatly had DECM after 74/75 and some got -10 engines same as the J. not sure if they had slimers in the 80s can check photos later. not trying to blow ya off, just have a family of 5 and so rather busy the next few days, as well as trying to get a few current projects wrapped while on break -

Downloads limit question
daddyairplanes replied to tselepides's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I assume you are downloading from here at Combat Ace. In that case you have 6 downloads a day i believe, tho Erik or a moderator can say the exact counts per level of membership. At Thirdwire i've never heard of a download per day limit though i've never worked to get all the patches at once. All five major mods, two expansion packs and two dlc are the most i've gone to get in one sitting( 9 files in a 4 jour timespane) -
Well, we'll always have Team America

Downolads question
daddyairplanes replied to tselepides's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
ok gents to attempt to defuse................... Dave, folks are gonna want to look around. If they didn't porn wouldn't be a billion dollar business. (hell i had a subscribtion at DAT until i d/l'd 4 files instead of 3 for the day. been banned about 3 years now) BUT....... the smart ones know where the good stuff is at and stick around tselepides, i look around for other goodies not available here time to time myself. for the most part you either have to go through a strict membership program and have severe limits on your ability to download OR pay. This site asks for donations but does not require them. If one donates its a good value for the money, and its a hell of a deal if you don't pay. TK doesnt have the resources of Microsoft and therefore its not as well known as FS9 or FSX and doesn't have as large a community. -
Downolads question
daddyairplanes replied to tselepides's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
actually no there are other sites. effectively yes, this is the only one without overly restrictive terms of service or cost. -
F/A-4E MigDaddy
daddyairplanes replied to ShrikeHawk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
F-404 seems to be the way to go, although it puts it past your Vietnam timeframe. already proven (didnt know Singapore did it) therefore known fit and give it life into the 80's and 90's with the primary users. -
F/A-4E MigDaddy
daddyairplanes replied to ShrikeHawk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
Longer yes but actally roughly same diameter as it was an offshoot of the J57. For a true F/A-4, use the isreali version with extended tailpipes and put a F-404 in as was considered in the early 80s. McAir shot it down as competing with the Hornet...... -

Patches question
daddyairplanes replied to tselepides's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
very true FRP. however........ i dont know how Greece is but when i was stationed in Germany you could get many things on the side at teh Czech Border. Heard things about roadside shops at the Polish border too but never went there myself general point is it may be a functional copy of SF2 series, but Theodoros got the money rather than TK. and downloading the July 13 patch should work. -
