Phinal Photos: RF-4C in USAF Service After Desert Storm: A TMF Rebuilt project
daddyairplanes posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
View File Phinal Photos: RF-4C in USAF Service After Desert Storm: A TMF Rebuilt project Phinal Photos: RF-4C in USAF Service After Desert Storm A TMF Rebuilt project This mod represents the phinal years of the Photo Phantom n USAF service. It includes a new RF-4C_91 model that features Sidewinder missile capability. While only a couple dozen RF-4Cs were wired for AIM-9 carriage, they served in the Alabama and Nevada Air National Guards while they did. Therefore, I placed the skins for those units in the _91 model's folder Required a functional copy of any Strike Fighters 2 game except for SF2 North Atlantic (the only one without a native F-4 destroyed model) The aircraft from the TMF Rebuilt RF-4C Late set, available here: https://combatace.com/files/file/18263-late-model-rf-4cs-photo-phantoms-after-vietnam/ (if you already downloaded this then you dont need to do it again) Included 3 RF-4C aircraft folders - RF-4C_85: skins only (12th RS, 173rd RS Nebraska ANG) - RF-4C_91: new aircraft with several Nevada and Alabama skins, and Sidewinder capability. Photo flash bays restricted to one or the other to make room for this capability, but photo flashes were not used as much in the phinal years. - RF-4C_ARN_101: skin (12th RS) and data_ini adjustment (extends years to 1992 from original 1990) 2 decal folders NOTE: most weapons, pilots, effects and sounds are already included in the original Rebuilt set. only AIM-9s for the _91 are included here Credits -The Mirage Factory the very original aircraft (see TMF Readme) -ravenclaw_007 original model, RF-4 pit -Sundowner further modifications to model and pit, effects for new photoflash bombs -daddyairplanes skins, tgas, multiple ini edits, creation of 4 distinct aircraft from one model -guruu sounds -NightshadeP/R testing. Nightshade often shows me my errors in screenshots he's just sharing for fun, while Menrva helps me with the more technical aspects -Sundowner, ravenclaw_007, yakarov79 and daddyairplanes templates are a mix of layers as contributed by these four. compiled in current form by daddyairplanes Special Thanks * to Sundowner for supporting this project. He was kind enough to hand me this ball and let me run with it and even make additional features as I requested them * to ET Brown, Gary Chambers and other members of the 106th Tac Recon Squadron page on Facebook. These Alabama Air Guardsmen veterans helped greatly and the "106th RS 94" skin features the crew chiefs on the nose just as the real aircraft had in the final 6 months. About The Mirage Factory Rebuilt Back in the early days of Wings Over series modding The Mirage Factory, lead by bpao was the peak of modding excellence. Many of their models are still heavily in use today, 15 years later and still amongst the very best. This despite the team not creating any new mods since the passing of Oliver Anguille in 2009. But time does move on, and the next generation of modders have ideas, techniques and tools not available back then. With the help of some of the original modellers (who have copies of the original max files) we can update these fine aircraft for the 2020s. Rebuilt for new terrains and campaigns that were just hopeful wishes over a decade ago. The Mirage in the logo is camoflaged, much like the real aircraft in later service. The "HD" has been replaced with "Rebuilt" as what was HD in the 2010s is jsut standard today. Finally, the new logo thanks Oli, both for the aircraft that are still relevant today and for the inspiration he's given to the modders that followed him. On behalf of The Mirage Factory (original and rebuilt) I thank you for downloading this mod, and hope you enjoy it. thank you for downloading this mod, i hope you enjoy phlying it as much as i did creating it Kevin Unruh aka daddyairplanes 4 Oct 2024 ************************************************************* This is freeware; it CANNOT be distributed unless permissions are granted by myself. as has been mentioned elsewheres, the current crew of YAP_RW isnt charging, tries hard to give credit where due and will remove stuff if you should ask them to do so the current YAP site (not RW) does mention several prominent modders from here (including you Gepard) and also has a cute little blurb on the bottom about "many files form the internet" and "credit to those that made it, apologies if we missed you". But the RW team works hard to play by the civilized rules of the modding game, despite their original material -

check ODS30AE if you havent already. it would be the top end for how this sim can be modded using practically all the tricks discovered to date (and invented a couple in the process iirc) beyond that, enjoy the variety. theres biplanes to Chinese stealth and most of whats in between here, an many parts of the globe to fly em in -

maybe he rejects your reality and wants to substitute his own in all seriousness, it would depend on the age of the mod, style and thouroughness (yes i mangle that leave me alone) once one gets going on a topic, it gets hard to stop. i mean, Recce Phantoms was meant to be 3 skins! -
question for the 5th Gen flyers out there
daddyairplanes posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
what radars do you find picks up stealth fairly well? part of the specs on the Top Aces Vipers is an "unspecified AESA radar" that picks up the 35s and even 22s better than the legacy mechanical radars. recent interview with a Raptor driver even credited a sortie against a Top Ace Viper as "the most challenging and fun hour of his life", so they must be doing something right. im not trying to re invent any wheels, but since these Vipers have a primary mission as aggressors for the current USAF, including its 5th gen assests, i figure i might as well tweek the radar to be better able to fit the bill what jet in game do you feel has the best performance against stealthy platforms? NOTE: TIA for any responses, but i will be hyper busy tommorow so might not get back to this until later evening my time. Thank you all again -

overall i am a fan of that theory, but as EricJ said some get quite overwhelmed by the interfaces of blender, or cannot find max 2009. this is for those folks who cannot tqake that step for whatever reason, but can work an image editor or an ini like noones business. i'll also point out tho, the post you quoted was response to a joke between ravenclaw and myself (even if made publicly) -

havent seen ventral ones on the Top Aces birds unless your talking the usual built into the fuselage (ref pics above) and that still looks empty, so i wouldnt be loading countermeasures in those areas anyhow. -

i'm afraid not best i could do is to point out it looks the same as the ALE boxes on late F-4Es, and in fact may be pulled from Israeli Phantoms after they retired. but on the Israeli side, they do tend to keep secrets well. again as for Top Aces, they appear to be leaving em empty.
