Help with GIMP...
daddyairplanes replied to amariani's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
cant think of a tool off hand to just draw a dotted line. could make a selection box following the path you want it to go then clone the original dash or erase off of a solid line........ hopefully someone else has a better ide for Gimp. btw do you have any way to declare yourself a student or teacher? yes the question is somewhat related..... -

LAPES request
daddyairplanes posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
two questions here really. first is: shouldn't the LAPES weapon to load on the C-130 have a parachute on the back end? as i have it (believe from Gunnys wep pack) it comes out the back end just as a pallet. second question (heres the request) is: would anyone want to knock out a few vehicles for LAPES delivery? yes i know the game doesnt really support resupply missions but we do have player flyable trash haulers and things for them to deliver (paratroopers, jeeps etc) would add to the variety to have some Sheridans, Hummvee's and jeeps to go out the back end. its a thought. whatchyou guys think? -

Take a bit for specifics. for most part would say in '79 go fer F-4J/N, A-4s, A-6s. EA-6 and AV-8A in the mix as well. damn shame is the rotors are on other sites that dont share with us. Would need AH-1J, UH-1N, CH-53 and Ch-46. -
LAPES request
daddyairplanes replied to daddyairplanes's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Thanks Diego. will need to print that and go over it on paper me thinks, but since i only run Gen 2 no worries bout converting to Gen 1. the LAPES model i currently have is w/o chute. the crater info is good to have tho as it also sinks into the ground. think i need to study paratroopers abit more to see how they deploy chutes AFTER exiting the aircraft and see what need applied. that is my hang up now is the lack of chutes. -

For anyone that can finagle their way into it, Creative Cloud is being offered at the student/ teacher rate of 19.99 for a one year subscription right now. slightly irks me as my wife found out start the trial run of it herself AFTER i signed up at 29.99. still breaks it down semi manageable to utilize CS6. question to any other established users: how useful wouldAdobe Illustrator be for modding? looking thru another site at blueprints and several have vector files that open with Illustrator.

no player flyables, they are both enemy nations! -
Mako, I'm not exactly worried yet. its not likely that the nuke is small enough to be a warhead yet, and their rockets can reach us. with a tailwind. and the proper blessings from a Tibetan monk. and a prayer. and a unicorn. last check i believe the Nkoreans only believe in one of those things. more worrisome would be if they loaded a nuke on a frieghter and sailed it into Pearl Harbor or San Diego. but any nation attemping that has to realize that once caught, human nature dictates that they will likely be wiped off the face of the earth. look at our response to 4 airliners, what do you think the US would do in response to a nuke taking out hundreds of thousands to millions of our citizens?

Race the LOD file is the actual "physical" model in game. THAT is the property of the person that created it and not to be modified w/o permission from the original creator. Skins and ini edits however are usually fairgame to mod and release. you just have to give credit to the guy who originally created the aircraft as you wouldnt be able to make the skin w/o the aircraft. as to the weapons, me thinks Brimstones but youd have to ask DrWho to be sure. -
lets do like that old hitchcock movie. isrealis hit DPRK, we hit Iran. establish alibis, no motive. criss cross no motive. wait crap. that plot played out in Throw Momma from the Train also.

Macelena, the following Marine units used the F-4N during the Northern Sabre timeframe : out of MCAS El Toro VMFA-314, 323 and 531. 323 and 531 both deployed on the Coral Sea in Nov 79. VMFA-134 used them also but from 84 to 85 VMFA-112 out of NAS Dalas VMFA-321 out of Andrews AFB also VMFA-351 out of Atlanta, but short lived only lasting from 77-78. lemme know if you want Navy and or S units. -

any way to convince you to do the GCE route but low level it while working your aircraft projects? been wanting this for a while as it would more closely resemble Berlin in 1948 than current GermanyCE. -

for low and fast with no protection from SEAD environment a ripple of retarded bombs is the way to go. personally i prefer to fly my Phantom in the late 70's with Mav's inboard and Snakeyes centerline. but if i do fly earlier than the AGM-65 era, i tend to load my wingie with rockets and direct him to the AAA while i come in at 300ft and sprinkle hot retarded death on the runway, industrial complex etc. little quote from an alternate history i thought fits this thread. the story is that Billy Mitchell didn't get courtmartialled and die, rather kept low level and eventually took over a Bomb wing of B-17s in Hawaii in 1941.(eventually launches a preemptive attack on the japanese fleet Dec 6 of a certain year) teaches his guys to come in low level rather than use the Norden bombsight. one pilot objects as " it will make them bigger targets." Gen Mitchell replies " if you think of yourself as a target you should've stayed home and knitted socks for the Red Cross. the point is to get in and stuff the bombs up the enemies backside before he can make you any kind of target." -

rogersmith DAT is the a-teams site. i say unfortunate because they are rather picky about membership and how you download, esp in comparison to CA. i've become one of those who believe the various names for that site to be dirty words.
