Aircraft Skinning
daddyairplanes replied to raymin's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
there are F-4B and E templates in the SF2 download section as well. you could always start with those and figure out some of the basics( adding tailcodes, decal placement) -
NF4 issues?
daddyairplanes replied to Emp_Palpatine's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
also with your Mig15, check and see if its using the addon for NF4 or the stock one. if its the add on just move the pilot back in the data ini. info on how to follow if needed. if its the stock should work just fine. -
here's an idea......
daddyairplanes replied to daddyairplanes's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
new idea along this road. post Airlift, towards the end of 1949. the tools and dies for Fw190, lets say the Dora and Me262 are gone. but the US and UK have several of the aircraft and whereabouts on the engineers. way back in the American and Brit sectors factories pop up as the aircraft are reverse engineered to develop the industrial base needed to put these aircraft back into production. of course some changes are made for the new circumstanses and developments over the last 4 years. 2 20mm canon in both birds, the 190 for CAS and the 262 for interception duties. however the Me will need a new engine. i think it was Galland who said he'd be unbeatable in a Avon powered 262? and as not to completely botch the timeline as occurred they would be under Allied control as an air arm of the BGS. hmmm.......... -
well have the syrians tried anything since 82?

course it's better still to have that epic last battle and find yourself the last one standin. one way to find out how it ends......... even applys to JMs scenario

nice turkish phantoms Dave tho as always(im not a rivet counter im not im not!) i think the nose on the gray birds is the gunship gray of the main body, not black. just a little eye like on wrenchs Warbirds Arnies. also with the RWR fairing check yer PM. might have to adjust abit since mine is only set for solid colors right now tho eventually (wife staying outta hospital and all )i wanna adjust so checkered colors show proper. any who.... it sucks bein winchester and playin as the bait but ya gotta feel good bout downin a dozen Hinds. support your local QRA -
Soviet Jet Hunt
daddyairplanes replied to Geary's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
best bet is to search the Gen 1 download section for what you want. there is some Red air in the Gen 2 as well. but 500 some aircraft, cockpits and skins (in Gen 2) to over 5000 in gen 1, you do the math. also read over the Knowledge Base carefully. that is your TM, FM and 13&P for changin older birds to Gen 2 standard. be advised some are so old they will have holes in the model(shows as white spots in the skin) or act really wierd or just look like crap. ok well the crap originates from another site but more on that later. good luck huntin and convertin and if you find some orbats for the Russian side circa 1948 lemme know! -

as for order of installon NF4+, go from oldest to newest. the Su27 is in there as is the Mig-29. the naval Flanker is available in the Gen2 download section. for skins for both look in the Gen1 download section for skins for Mirage Factory (MF or TMF) aircraft. those should be compatable although you may have to place the decal folder in the correct folder in your SF2 mods folder. i think the 35 is covered as a what if (maybe the Spanish Flanker) and can be converted back with the right skins and some ini editing. -
Big Mouth Vipers?
daddyairplanes replied to FOTF's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
there is a Blk 50/52 C model in Gen 1 that converts fairly nicely to Gen2 if ya gotta have one. Pit seems to need some love though and there are some holes (white spots) in the model now showin up in the tailplane right on the pivot point. and i cant get the @!#$ing HTS pod to show on its station! -

Double Delta
daddyairplanes replied to Derk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
i thought this was available already via NF4+. still we would welcome fresh work on any bird in Gen2. will there be skins for the Swedes, Danes and Austrians in the 90's? -

Plastic Kit Modelling
daddyairplanes replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
i've gotten away from plastic kit myself the last few years (easier to take a laptop and SF2 series with on deployment dontcha know) but i would look into Academy maybe Hasegawa, and go online to look into the dearth of Eastern European start ups that do everything from current Vipers to obscure what-ifs. get yourself a copy of international aircraft modeler( i think its called) should be easy for you as its printed on your side of the pond. that will give you much more info. -
Will Croatia replace their MiG-21´s with F-4F´s?
daddyairplanes replied to Soulfreak's topic in Military and General Aviation
it would be a good lead in (if being given not bought) until they can afford more modern gear. besides, i wouldn't mind knowing the Double Ugly is servin yet another air force for a few more years -
i see what you did on your R+R! congrats man

pilot was recovered by an Osprey, thus justifying every dollar ever spent on it. the WSO was recovered by the rebel side and handed back to our side. when have you heard of that in american warfare lately, i think not since WW2.
