AI Aircraft vs SAMS
daddyairplanes replied to Nicholas Bell's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
well thanks for the kudos on the song. got pointed to that group in afghanistan last year by an air force navigator of all people. course it was amusing meeting him as he had a red flag patch on his shoulder. i asked him if he flew Vipers and he told me no his parents were married when he was concieved! will post some more songs in another thread soon, they are quite hiliarious. -

not quite what i meant. i mean when you have the stock aircraft in the mod folders, the ones that just have "aircraft"ini and a folder for the skins with only the texture sets inside, if you delete ones you arent planning on modding then will the game just revert to the aircrafts info in the cat files? or does it need that little bit of info in the mods in order to function in game properly? -

all of that said would it affect the game much if one took the stock birds they don't use much(like say A-10 and F-15 in a 50's based install) and deleted their folders from the mods aircraft folder? i would suspect it will only revert back to the main cat files to tell what it needs to do. but im not the most knowledgeable on this talking box with the pretty bright pictures:grin: if it does work the way i think it would it would clean things up abit esp. over several installs. -

agreed with Dave. i have individual exe's for SF2V, E, I and NF4+ on a completely sep install on my external HD, plus one offshoot i call SF2E-1950s. i think it keeps it from bogging down your system if you keep seperate folders for what you want. After all not much use for A-1 Spads in a primarily european install, or strike Voodoo's in vietnam. my SF2I install is mostly for testing conversions from Gen one right now since i mainly got it for the TW Viper and to be able to get the expansion pack. Meteor F8 all throught NATO in the early fifties! -
MOANG Eagles?
daddyairplanes replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
couldnt you take the image from the F-4E MOANG skin and manipulate to what you need? the code and stripe with St Louis are the same but the dimensions will be different. i kow i have seen it somewhere tho not sure where. maybe marcfighters? correction. a high rez skin is avail on column 5's site in the F-4 skins. -

"A future where there will be no war, no famine, no crime, no sickness, no oppression, no fear, no limits, no shame, no death. Everlasting and immortal...where everything you can ever want is available to you just by asking." the first matrix was like this. but everyone died off. it seems that humans prefer to suffer . its in your nature.

seein as i got two weeks left on active duty i'll say it. yup i slapped my soldiers. not Full Metal Jacket style more Gibbs NCIS to the back of the head style. even taught some of my ones on the way up, to the back of the head is a wake up call to the face is embarassing. funny thing is tho told i was wrong all the time my soldiers tended to get things done, better. always bitched loudly when i got moved to other shifts or companies too.(never a punitve transfer, chain of command just got sick of seein my face after 2-3 years at a clip.) leads me to believe it worked tho i don't recommend it for everyone.

why not? hornet essentialy evolved from the YF-17. its evolution mightve gone a little faster being land based and not having to beef up for carquals. -
i did not know him myself but have seen his name on many a mod and see the regard in wich he is held by this community. RIP BPAo and may your family around the world remember the good times you gave.

Russia successfully test fires long-range missile

prob for similar reasons we refitted some Ohio class subs to sail with 144 Tomahawks rather than Tridents. 1 you dont think all have conventional warheads do you and 2 just cause you sign a treaty don't mean you want the newest best things to defend yourself with. (here comes the commentary) -

BREAKING: U.S. Nuclear Weapons Have Been Compromised
daddyairplanes replied to ONETINSOLDIER's topic in Military and General Aviation
back to the alien theory and why would they do it........... to maintain the capability if they needed it for real. same reason a soldier goes to the rifle range or squadrons fo to red flag. they were just practicing on the real thing. and i agree that we as americans are about the only ones loose lipped enough in the world to actually talk about it. the other country's officers have been told to keep quiet on pain of pain!
