  1. there is a skin and other upgrades section in the Gen1 downloads that was done up a few years back. with a disclaimer at the top of teh page saying that the models are not on site (CA) https://combatace.com/files/category/899-sf1-dat-mods/ that said i recall it being a PITA for Erik to set up for some reason and i dont think a Gen2 specific version will be around anytime soon as always, still your choice to release or not. just pointing out an option
  2. most retired, but a few went south....
  3. (cue the Jaws theme) (or the Airplane! one)
  4. tightened up decal inis (made them all the same after little change here and there and bunches of unneeded entries) now working on skins, then just have a few (under 30) tga corrections and additions to make took a look at the newest work versus the older version. i'll let you all guess which is which
  5. Yes!

he means the victory graphic. its the same stock pic whether you win in 1952 or 2022.....
  6. trying to figure out if i should do a few of my next projects in my old style or break them down. as it is a few topics i'm not feeling my usual "everybody everywhere at everytime" energy; rather just a few that i really want to see done oh and no cheating and saying "whatever you want to give us". pic a side of the fence to stand on!
  7. patience Kemosabe, its coming i mean hell, i am working 58 mf'in skins for the E.......
  8. its in this thread even.......
  9. votings been over for well over a month, so not really curious. and went with the results of the vote on this one have you not been paying attention to the screenshot and WIP threads? Stevie Wonder shouldnt be surprised at this point
  10. the animation wont do a thing. you gotta put some more drag on it in the data.ini. too much and it flies backwards in a reverse version of what you experienced. too little and..... also i would advise, work your own tables. share if you want. then leave it be someone will come along, take your baby you worked hard on, and make their own little tweak to it that will totally throw your tables off. then yell at you in forum for the table being off. thats just part of this show, all the modders here have seen it to some extent or another. the tweaking itself, well thats what modders do (or as is said i reject your reality and substitute my own)
  11. AWESOME!!!! while im not going as in depth with the R as i will with the E, the 100th in the early 90s is one of my planned upcoming projects. between being the only old school tail (Square D) to being one of the few tanker units even outside of AMC to have nose art at teh time (heritage nose arts from WW2 didnt hurt their cause) and finally local presence during the Yugo tours of the 90s theyve been high on the list for a bit now since the models are so similar, the decal placement, template and majority skin work translates between the three well. only the engines will need major rework on the A and R and everything else will be dialled in.....
  12. well disregard mine i misunderstood you as meaning landing lights, not an actual cockpit panel light
  13. a note to the skinners out there veteran or aspiring im aiming to standardize the decals for all marking possibilties, so that provisional wings can be built up unlike fighter squadrons, tankers didnt generally deploy as one whole unit. rather units would contribute aircraft and Airmen to a provisional unit. say 3 or 8 per my goal is to have others be able to create provisional units by pulling the tga out of the folders, renaming then sticking in the new folder with zero ini dancing. hopefully i remember to whip up a video while i do ODS (sorry that will be for ODS team only to replace the old skins). the idea is easy. the execution isnt too hard....... so long as you pay attention to what you do
  14. you may wish to change the brightness and/or the size of the light i find when i do play with the lighting that the stock/original figures are really really bright. like bleed into cockpit bright.......
  15. ahem..... werent you the very one that worked up the B-47 numbers a year or two back? principles stand though and i dont see way a a stick of Mk82s or a LGB with in game, person on the ground designator wouldnt provide similar (tho less glowing) results NOTE: LGB wont work tossing if you load a laser designator on your bird. you gotta hold nice and still. and the in game on the ground designator will only work on the assigned target for that misson, not any side quests
  16. for those of you that voted mega pack the next project is currently at 58 individual skins. amusingly (esp to those that know me) the aircraft folders are nearly double the size of the decal folder this time around.
  17. in game, pretty much you need to practice. i havent heard of methods for computer release on the player flown aircraft. you still have to pull the trigger in the B-47E aircraft release there was a method shared to toss bomb the Mk15 nuke. pretty much involved "fly at specific speed and altitude, pull up hard at x distance, release at x altitude, complete loop and get the hell outta dodge". another member and i worked this out to a cookie cutter procedure for that aircraft and weapon. once we came to a rough agreement on how, it got written up and added as part of the mod you would have to create your own methods for other aircraft/weapons combos. its not something youll write into a data.ini if you do work out methods, please do share how you did it. reference what's in quotation marks above for what info others would need to have
  18. did you guys know that you can just play this game too? i mean, just fly missions with stock birds?
  19. not change in your mods folders the simplest, most minor alteration to the timeline would be to have the Shah pick the Eagle over the Tomcat. in reality not even the Shah's pockets were that deep but this is Allen's world, and in it those pockets were deep enough. not how i'd have gone, but it is how he went
