daddyairplanes replied to ErikGen's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
@yakarov79, you ever do a new LANA pod when you were working on naval A-7s? there's only so much a repaint can do for that very basic A7FLIR model..... -

oh yeah, should probably mention i'm playing with loadouts Iron Hand guys, prep to be disappointed. the Air Guard didnt really do the Weasel thin in SLUFs, and so those are now omitted. It was the Navy E's that were wired for Shrike and HARM... but assymetrical loadout can make life.... interesting -

WIP Mega THREAD!
daddyairplanes replied to ErikGen's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
now i've gone and done it...... so many covered units that its actually more practical to have bmp's in the main folder, and create two "new" stock airframes beyond that. i swear (to those that have worked with me), the decal folders will be smaller than the aircraft folders for a change. especially since two of the aircraf twill be able to share and i will bite the bullet and do some marks on skin meanwhile, a little more progress... -

on a series note, what am i missing on the Tank skins? texture named A-7_TANK, in each skin folder, saved as jpg like the aircraft ones.. hell, id think it would at least default to the stock skin with some green ontop.... disregard, got it to show in game, but as a bmp. evidently the tanks dont like jpg...... -

In theory ( and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong) you could adjust the hit boxes so they are on the outer edges of the hangar, with big non-collidable space in the center. I have been thinking of the opposite, taking a periscope that's on a few subs ( as the only, very small model) and expanding the hit boxes and radar return size so it's a viable, attackable object in game. Would give sub hunters something to do in game... with scripted missions so a P-3 isnt going after a regular convoy with anti sub torps. -

yeah well, remember the bit yesterday about well mapped models? im becoming convinced TK learned to map on these here. and i know its not the worst one out there. so many little panels out in left field or seams just slightly askew...... -

or release it as a 707-310 or -321 or such. the -3xx number was different for alot of airframes with Boeings customer codes for the original airframes -

oooooorrrr (and im just spitballin here) use this for real aircraft tga base liveries, El Al is on there for all eras that they flew big Boeings. if you want to use as a static, take the tga from the above, and adjust it onto the skin itself -
