  1. if youre going to play Dhimar vs Paran, i would think you need the version they come in......
  2. Win11 opinion: General usage AND SF2

bout as the title says. looking for opinions on both your experiences with it in general as well as SF2 specific experiences so far. evidently my school/VA computer is able to upgrade. wont do it before May (stick with what i know for the semester), but debating if i should or not at all.
  3. possibly part of it. i imagine a bigger reason the BUFFs got the 117s and the faster jets got the bigger mk 80 series was the B-52 could carry alot of bombs, anything with an F in front not so much. so the fighters got hte bigger bombs (mk 83, 84) to max out the tonnage in the limited weps stations curious about dimensions of the british 1000 lb bombs, as BUFFs carried them two or three missions out of Diego Garcia. cant recall at the moment if they were internal or external either though
  4. Win11 opinion: General usage AND SF2

Erik, that "frilly GUI" is one of the reasons im waiting to change (and debating doing so at all). my daughter updated her Surface, and when i went to do something on it a few weeks back, was definetly giving it weird looks and wondering where stuff was. can i deduce from your post that the general appearance/layout can be reverted back to something more familiar? i didnt mess with my kids system for more than 5 mins, and it was hers so wasnt gonna change stuff up thanks Muesli and Silberpfiel for your input too. and that Coastie bird looks good
  5. best as i can tell the straight nuclear bombers https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taktisches_Luftwaffengeschwader_33 the Growlers get interesting, as wiki says these guys are primarily recon, but have operted the SEAD Tornado ECRs since 2013 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taktisches_Luftwaffengeschwader_51 my guess is that they move to a primary SEAD role, since recce is handle by drone more and more
  6. All hail Mue!

off topic but in pic love the detail of the painted out tail markings
  7. although i thought the KAF birds had the VIP windows. temporary brainfart on my part mandatory screenie
  8. ummmmmm......... what does the revamped ODS have to do with the Vietnam expansion pack?
  9. since hearing about the Nvidia issues (like a decade ago) ive gotten a 670 card in a 2012 laptop, 1070 card in 2015 laptop and 3060 in a desktop built last year. no issues whatsoever. im more worried after a microsoft update than a nvidia update (tho i run a test run on the game all the same when i know either updated) if youre shopping for a system someone else builds (rather than assemble yourself) look up xidax. pricey but worth the money. that 2015 and last years system are both from them, and even the '15 rig still makes this system im typing this post on feel slow (i7-9750H, 16 gb ram, 1660ti card )
  10. Weaponspack 3

although im guilty of it too, this is what i imagine on ravenclaw's side whenever we ask about another weapon seriously tho, get some rest. youve done quite a bit for us already
  11. you know, theres four levels of skins out there simple, 1 to 4 jpgs, well mapped and sometime even with a template. super simple, no template. slightly off mapping but can be worked with not so simple, oddly mapped, makes you wonder what teh modder was smoking. often with overlaps that make life hard damn difficult, jumbled together, anywhere between 1 and 12 jpgs. parts all over. often photorealistic. often seems pulled from a FSX model. makes you wonder what the hell you (the viewer) have been smoking the first two are pretty easy to work. the third, can be done if youre interested in the subject. the fourth gets a big can of nope almost everytime
  12. hell, as long as its a decent skin (not tightly packed or spread across a dozen pieces), someone will likely make a template
  13. Ghost of Kyiv

  14. good catch on Reverse, that may well apply to what hes working on. i usually place it below the Scale line, but me thinks it will work anywhere under the Position line. i also only add it in when its true, it works fine without that line if you dont need it. Front and Back i had left off for now for simplicity, since they are rarer to use. LEFT and RIGHT are for exactly what he asks in this post, but UP and DOWN will likely come along soon enough
  15. copied from an old post of mine, but still breaks down the elements of a decal.ini entry [Decal001] MeshName=Fuselage ---------------- actual node it goes on. limit 3 tga per DecalLevel=2 ---------------------------- 4 different levels. O ties to nation, 1 ties to unit, 2 is serialized and unique to each aircraft, 4 is kills iirc. 2 is normally used for serial numbers but can be used for individual schemes/camoflage or nose arts DecalFacing=RIGHT ----------------- self explanitory. basic directions included TOP, FRONT, LEFT, RIGHT FilenameFormat=B-52G_89/DiegoGarcia/D/FuseR naming convention. the D folder in this is not really needed, but a habit amongst the senior modders that i picked up Position=-2.75,0.0 ----------------- self explanitory. Rotation=0.0 ----------------- self explanitory. Scale=48.00 ----------------------------------------------- not usually this big. can be either side of the decimal point, mine are often huge due to a tga covering the whole fuselage side or wing. but one could make a bigger tga with high detail and scale below 1.0 to place on model DecalMaxLOD=3 --------------------- Wrench can explain better than me, but iirc has to do with distance visible in the case of the file name format FilenameFormat=B-52G_89/DiegoGarcia/D/FuseR aircraft/skin/D/your decal for the basics of how to add the decal.ini, look in the knowledge base for SF1 and SF2.
  16. your turn, lets get it out here brother!
  17. i figured. mostly just teasing you, although when you do have a variety of dirt on the flight line its pretty cool. again, check out the C-5s one day do you have USN numbers? i have several varieties of the 100 and 200 series avail in proper font if ya need (multiple colors shadowed, slanted, white, black)
  18. we all start somewhere. and as some instructors said before my last deployment, its not THE way, its just A way. of course they also said they were there to make us more gooder (exact quote) so....
  19. come over to the dark side make tga weathering, three or 4 varieties. then mix em up amongst the squadron (including clean CAG birds) first one is a PITA in all caps. but the next 3 to 77 are really easy after that. i done did it for the 90s C-5s, and will do it if i ever get back to doing naval Phantoms
  20. if you did any changes, you can credit original to .... whoever and yourself with the changes. i read deep in the archives something about 1 pixel making it different (think it was when i was working decals for the TW Phantom camos). but i dont claim it until i hit about 10000 pixels myself, and try to always credit the original all the same mandatory screenie, RAAF Bone patrolling over the Coral Sea
  21. yes, that is one of several options. sometimes it sticks though. my complaint level however will equal what i paid for it so... you talking "Open as Layer" or opening a whole new project tab? asking for clarity, as i myself go the first mentioned route when i do something like that
  22. both because of the difficulty you're having, and just as general practice try making a copy of the layer then changing the color. it happens to me from time to time. i go to the above or reset method. im guessing youre keeping the pattern but changing the color
  23. B-47E by Coyote Aerospace

    Version 1.0.001

    332 downloads

BOEING B-47E STRATOJET by COYOTE AEROSPACE This is a semi historical mod to represent the B-47E through its career as SACs most numerous bomber. It is semi historical because there were so many variations on equipment and markings across 1300+ aircraft over its 12 year career that it is impossible to accurately represent all of them. Instead, all major units that could be represented are (in other skin packs) and the general paint schemes used during the appropriate eras are modded for the forward deployments known as Operation REFLEX. Further, new nuclear weapons have been included. To keep file sizes down somewhat, unit skins will be release by numbered air force and available in the SF2 Skins download section INSTALLATION unzip installation folder cut and paste to desired mods folder allow overwrites (some effects and weapons mainly) IF YOU HAVE THE B28 NUCLEAR WEAPONS ALREADY FROM ANOTHER MOD use caution. I have set the nuclear weapons to a specific station code as NUC. Other mods featuring the B28 weapon do not have this yet, although i intend to do a comprehensive ini edit later this year across many weapons and aircraft INCLUDED B-47E(53) and B-47(57) aircraft Operation Reflex skins, and one unit skin for each aircraft) Period accurate M64 and M65 bombs B28 nuclear weapons, 350Kt and 1.1MT yields new Mk15 and MK39 nuclear weapons, 1.69 and 3MT yields short document on how best to employ the LABS technique in game with MK15 weapon CREDITS veltro2K .......................................... aircraft models daddyairplanes .......................................... skins, tgas, research, ini work on aircraft and weapons, constant nagging on models yakarov79 .......................................... testing and ini work GKABS ................................................... new MK15/39 nuclear weapon models russouk2004 ............................................... I have a method figured out for it, but we would need someone to model the horsecollar device with 33 JATO bottles - Not every upgrade to the Stratojet is modeled. Again, there were 1300+ aircraft built, and 6 phases for upgrades. The (53) roughly represents the aircraft after introduction, the (57) in between Phase 3 and 4. Anyone that would like to work any fakepilot mods to represent each of the 6 phases, as well as modifications like TEE TOWN would be welcomed. - while online sources state the 341st Bomb Wing operated Stratojets, veteran and book sources could not even find proof of operation, let alone marking information (they came through on all other Wings). Therefore I have not included this Bomb Wing in the mod. - The "afterburner" trick to use water injection on take off is in effect, from 99-100%. If you want realism, and to not be visible across the continent, dont exceed 97% power in flight. ************************************************************* This is freeware; it CANNOT be distributed unless permissions are granted by Coyote Aerospace.
