There are 39 flyable aircraft in OFF. There are no AI only craft in OFF. For more info: http://www.overflandersfields.com/Features.htm HTH WM

Well British-eh - its a cumulative patch so summarises all changes in the mini patch from the 1.32 Super Patch There was no change in flak from 1.32e to 1.32f... but flak was changed from 1.32 Super Patch. Flak changes happened in 1.32b and 1.32c so if you have 1.32e installed you already have the flak changes HTH WM

This is a senseless poll as the flak accuracy did not change from 1.32e to 1.32f. Patch F simply added in the QC respawn option. HTH WM

Respawning in QC cannot be stopped
Winder replied to Fortiesboy's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Its fixed in 1.32f - release date unknown. Basically CFS3 QC is highly 'unrealistic' (or use the word 'silly' as this is not an attempt to say the OFF QC is 'realistic' - we still have a game here chaps!) as everything around your home field is enemy. We had a lot of feedback in P2 of anti sentiment for this rather ludicrous situation and had many support queries on this - this is standard CFS3 fair and not what we or most users want for OFF at all. So In P3 I made a new Quick Combat system that actually runs a small mission (OFF QC) and has the frontlines all correctly in place so the 'surrounded by enemy issue' has been circumvented . Thus in P3 we have bypassed the CFS3 QC system (now relegated to workshops for any one that wants to use it and understands this limitation -everything that surrounds you is enemy!) When we launched P3 the old CFS3 QC Respawn was set (forced) Off. Now its forced On, as we had some e-mail queries from guys that want to play training with repeat enemies so this made sense and so it was implemented, especially given that CFS3 QC is so 'unrealistic/silly' that why not have enemies auto regen?. In 1.32f for whomever still uses the CFS3 QC Respawn is now settable in the CFS3 QC UI as a tickbox and this setting is saved. Finally there can never be respawn in OFF QC (the main menu Quick Combat) as it's a mission - this was the reason for dropping the setting as it serves no purpose in OFF standard QC as respawn cannot happen in a mission. Basically we only recommend CFS3 QC for sight seeing - not for combat - note becaues every field and object around your home base is enemy they will attack you - so the odds are ludicrous. WM -
Ideas for Phase IV (not the ant film)
Winder replied to Wels's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Love these speculative threads... I can say that buffet and wind sounds are in and being tested now in P4......three levels of buffet and winds sounds - changes with the weather and can be switched on or off in workshops. WM -
I just popped in to ask a poll.... The settings ratings seem to cause so much consternation and everyone seems to want to run at 100 or higher and I don't know why. This was not the intention of this simple counting system - it was provided to allow users to compare results with a simple rating of how they have the sim set up without relaying exact settings given so many options and thus a simple number is produced Hell its not even 0 - 100 - its now 0 - 140.....and I could invert it too - its just a settings number. I run at 70 normally, and now with 1.32e extra Flak and MG settings 90, out of a possible 140. I will never run at 140. Cheers WM

MiniPATCH V1.32e is now available!
Winder replied to Polovski's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Yes its due to the new separated ground unit fire control. WM -
We worked hard on the Superpatch consolidating all the existing updates/patches into one (to make support easier for us and the user) and also adding in a lot of new content. We included some of the latest P4 work as a freebie and the features that have been added in 1.32 are not trivial. This has brought in few bugs and we are patching these. Moreover we have been constantly supporting helping and updating OFF since P3 commercial release in late 2008. Many of the features and updates and 'patches' were in direct and constant response to user requirements in terms of flexibility and accessibility for new players as well as seasoned players. The workshop options are now mind boggling. No sim I know of has this sort of configurability. OFF P3 out of the box had no real show stoppers and we have simply kept updating accessibility as well as minor game issues based on feedback and consensus garnered from e-mail support, this forum and notably polls. V1.32 also has had no show stoppers. There has been some ranting and abrupt e-mails and posts in this forum since we released 1.32 which, given the tone of them, has really caught us by surprise and TBH question the method that we have chosen in supporting our product - we could afterall simply be like any other game company and not even be here. We hoped that by now most frequent forum users would be well aware of our commitment to this product that we have constantly shown since P1 5 years ago and frankly we are dismayed to see the attitude that has prevailed admittedly seemingly from only a handful. For me to state again that we are committed to making this game even more than a success really seems a waste of time but well that still is the case. Since 1.32 there have been two main issues raised with some very strange manners: 1) FLAK Seemingly still too prolific and accurate even after 1.32b depsite a considerable range of settings in workshops. We are looking into this very strange Flak issue to see if there is a reason still remaining that makes the easy flak setting so 'hard' - certainly in all my testing last night I could not see how on easy gun settings and 1.32b, a user can be expressing such concern - it is neither accurate nor proliffic - but again we are still looking. It might be that coming out of warp into a flak barrage is simply dicey - we are testing. Flak was dicey anyway... 2) Sounds Flak sounds and battle sounds prior to 1.32 were inaudible even at very high effects settings - this was wrong and we adjusted it so hollywood users (no slight intended) can actually hear the crump of the explosions. The effects volume can be simply turned down in workshops for a more realistic sound level. Again a myriad of combinations can be dialed in. As usual we are open to criticism and feedback as long as its given in the correct way and also we love polls - dont be shy to start one if you feel you have an issue but PLEASE at least explore the sim a bit and especially the workshop settings as well as other regions and squads before starting. Finally we will not be monitoring this board anymore with an intention of supporting issues directly in type - we encourage other users to help newbies. We will be monitoring the board for issues and feedback. If you have an issue that you cannot solve and are stuck then by all means contact us on: support@overflandersfields.com Quote: 1) Your Avangate order number 2) Your CFS3 package version. 3) Your current workshops version number - lower right in workshops - you can access workshops from the main menu - button extreme right. Thanks OBD Software.

24/7 I have no idea it may vary on your PC/server and how stable CFS3/OS is over long term but 1.32 was tested with a dogfight server set to 10 mins and also set to 5 kills. I did this when we had a delay on 1.32 roll -out and so far in 1.32 MP seems good. If you have MP issues in 1.32 contact support. HTH WM -

Basically OFF development is ongoing - but P3 is drawing to a close and we have the decency to tell you that. Pol and I planned all along to take a break after this release so now you all know too. Next will be payware addons - shape or form not decided. MP works - if you have issues contact us on support. I have kept an open line to most of the MP players via e-mail but have had very little response to what I have sent out so again the lines are open. Happy puttering WM -
There are two patches on the site 1.32 and the 1.32c hotfix. There will possibly be a 1.32d hotfix later on depending on how the Flak issue pans out and what feedback we see on this board but at the moment I can see no issues with Flak on easy setting or even normal setting being excessive. HTH WM

Abrupt response and or change? - no we have asked for the avangate order number from day 1 as part of the support system and we have often asked folks to use the system. If you have lost it then as long as you can remember the name of the person that ordered it or even the e-mail address we can trace it. The point is that Pol and I are taking a break P3 is basically where we want it and we will not be answering technical issues on the forum until we are back. So again we are saying technical support via e-mail will be maintained....we will monitor the boards and we will be updating flak and or sounds depending on what we see on this board over time. Have fun. WM -
There is no change in OOB or flight density from 1.32b to 1.32c - what you are seeing is the OOB rating system at work. WM
-
I have seen the poll and discussion on the player vs enemy numbers and there seems to be a bit of a better appreciation of the additional flight that accompanies you to your objective. But some history.... In P2 the workshop settings for Player Fight desnsity were added in to help users on lower end PCs set up a player flight that has fewer craft to lessen CPU load esp on take-off where the other craft are close by - in P2 the enemy was mostly spawns. Now in P3 this setting was a problem in that it still allowed the user of a low end PC to dial in a lower player flight density whilst facing true opposition based on a database of enemy weightings (flights and numbers in flights bases on historical research) what we call an order of battles database or OOB. So prior to the SP1.32 players who selected a low flight density to help CPU power actually disadvantaged themeselves by always then having a low number of craft in the player flight and hence always outnumbered. Similarly if you select high fligh density (IOW you have a good PC) you would always outnumber the enemy - again a problem especially in the early war years when flights had a smaller complement. So now in 1.32 the players flight is alwasy set up according to the OOB and sometimes you will outnumber the enemy other times you wont and as repeatedly stated you must also take into account the extra flight in this balance as well. This works well now as many years have gone by and users PCs are much better on average so no need to lessen teh number of craft in the players flight. But I am prepared to make one last change to P3 for those that always want to win the war: The poll is thus: Do you want a setting that overides the OOB and always makes the campaign generate low AI numbers in their flights? The players flight will thus always be according to the OOB (makes it immersive) but the enemy flight will be capped to a complement of say 3 max craft or less if this is selected in workshops. Of course there are a couple of hundred other ways you can approach survival no matter the odds in workshops - from pilot never dies to gun ratings etc etc but well if you want this you can have it. This will be the last feature change for P3 and I invite all to vote. WM

Thanks for the pretty new patch, but.............
Winder replied to Vogel's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Lol yeah P4 and P5 and umm addons I am sure we will miss your purchases, but seriously what version are you running - have you even tried 1.32b released yesterday to reduce RoF? Snobbishly so? We have done nothing but add in easy settings and optional features to make OFF vastly more configurable than what it is out of the box. Most of the patches to date have been all about accessibility. How many times have you exited warp and been hit by flak? I mean 1.32b was only released yesterday to address the RoF so how many times was that? What squad what period etc? Was there a battle on the go - yes AA is worse when guns are ammased at the front... Finally why not play Pilot never dies until you can accept death in a war scenario? WM -
Thanks for the pretty new patch, but.............
Winder replied to Vogel's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Assuming you are running 1.32b at least, and assuming you are running on AI Gun Fire and range on Easy and you still are getting beaten up by Flak (which I find strange) then I will do this: I will make easy as easy (as ridiculous) as it was before 1.32 i.e Flak will be miles out....Normal and hard will remain the same. I assume you did manage to turn down the sound effects volume in workshops? WM -
Hotfix 1.32b is in testing now and includes: Fixes: 1) Lower density tree clusters when lower density scenery is selected in workshops 2) Reduced Rate of Fire of AA guns - 'RoF' was too high when battles are on the go. Improvements: 1) Improved Observation Balloon damage model and effect. This patch will supercede and replace the 1.32a hotfix. There will only ever be one hotfix patch to add on to the Super Patch ETA - unknown but soon. WM

SuperPatch 1.32: QC Wing Man AI Level?

Thanks guys and thanks Homeboy. Sorry guys there is no more need be said here. WM

May I be so bold as to copy the e-mail I received from this person? Perhaps not... But Winston you know nothing about what you are talking about so please don't rant here or you will be banned.. Calling the OFF community sheep etc is pretty low and I can see this thread being locked soon. Please take this as a warning. If you don't like OFF thats fine...if you do that's also fine but just behave O.K? Civil words garner civil response - you are not civil as is evident from your very first rant about MP... shall we dig that up too? Homeboy apology accepted. If you want we can continue diagnosing your issues in e-mail. WM
-
We cannot do this as at the moment as we (and you) do not have enough CPU/GPU power. So users must select what suits their PCs. Balance is always maintained with the scaling. HTH WM
-
Good grief we have not even got any addons out yet - are you guys for real or Trolls. Have you tried the options in workshops yet or are you going to keep bleating? Have you started a poll? Lemme guess if you post this in enough threads we might be forced to change it yeah? Nope. If guys want to shoot balloons down and not ever get hit by the archie underneath - select PND. Or Fly FSX - I believe you never die in that sim. WM

Prior to the patch the AA was totally inaccurate and ineffective so I am sure you preferred that. 1) Adjust the AA effectiveness and groundfire in workshops thats what its for. 2) Adjust sound levels of effects in workshops that's what the settings are for. When you have exhausted all those options start a poll. Do not start a poll unless you have at least tried the options. Then I might consider if the numbers support it. So far in this poll I cannot see an OOB override being implemented. And until you have experimented with settings to see if you can get what you want wrt FLAK and sound levels and I see no poll in favour, then I am afraid your request will go the same way. Folk complained that the inaccurate flak (reduced and made inaccurate since OFF release due to the same complaints) no longer showed where enemy craft are. Now that its more accurate in 1.32 you will see the flak close to enemy craft and it will reveal their location - exactly as we have seen and users have posted they like this now! The downside as Pol and I pointed out at the time is that it will start to hit the player and so it does.... Turn it down. HTH WM
