  1. Dear Bearded One, I have a particular interest in the postwar Spads of the 94th. I currently, by curtesy of Red Dog, have two fine representations in my hangar. I wonder if maybe , perhaps, by chance, somehow, soon you might be uploading this fine looking work of yours to the download section? I must say seeing this bird in this plumage really caught me by suprise. On my six from out of the sun.
  2. deleting posts

Widow I looked at one of my recent posts and there is a delete option right next to the edit button.
  3. Nungesser and Madon Split up Alb's

Looks good Widow. Make that 2 middle-aged farts please. OFF is our big ol' sandbox.
  4. cheating just a tad...

SD, don't feel bad for using the TAC.
  5. I am soooooo happy.....

Sounds like your crew are catching on to the survival tactics. Seems though that once such success is reported on this forum the next report is not such happy news for that flyer. Not to jinx your man but that's how it's been. Congrates and may he win a few more for you.
  6. SlickJohnny, welcome aboard. You made the right choice wit OFF I think. Many of us share your WWI interest and sim beginnings. If you need advice with OFF this forum is the place to come. Consider contacting Olham with your general whereabouts for our OFF World flyers map. Best wishes with your OFFing.
  7. The unofficial, non OBD Gotha that is available found it's way unto my pc. Here are some pics. No story of great acheivements but I did have fun. If you have not yet seen it here it is. It functions pretty well, makes a nice target and is flyable. You can control each position, one at a time of course and she does drop bombs and has a bombsight. Also it's fun to switch to "rocket/bomb view" after you release the bombs and watch them blow. I've made some nice craters. Thanks to all responsible for this big bird and her large eggs. I see a lot of potential for many hours of good fun.
  8. No real story to tell just some recent screenies. Thanks Bullethead for the DFW skin, Flynn for the Be2c skin and I think the Croc was done by Fubar, sorry if I'm mistaken.
  9. I Bounced the AI

Hey, waddaya know, huh? I hope that starts a more common occurance for you. Maybe they were a poor moral rookie squad. Some poorassed B flight ham and eggers. Up for a cup of coffee and didn't have thier hearts into it. You showed them what happens when you go fartin' about in Bulletheads domain. Bastids. Good one for you.
  10. Work in progress : Railyards

Just got around to getting the Gotha into my pc. Nice big bombs she carries and a nice bombsight. Now these plump and juicy railyards are somewhere/sometime down the track. Sounds like a recipe for diaster! Oh my, carnage! I can see some kind mission modder getting all creative with all these goodies.
  11. Another War-Weary Fee

    Hey Lou, that was fun.
  12. It's Time To Play,"What's My Plane" !

Dej, I got one emoticon for you,
  13. RAF BE2c 16-RFC 1916 4077

Thanks for sharing Fynn. I'll fly it in thier honour. Hopefully I'll do them justice.
  14. I love this thread, good one Red Dog. Thanks to all for sharing. We will not forget them.
  15. Work in progress : Railyards

Wow! This is terribly exciting. Who knew you guys were doing this and here it is so far along. And then you share the information with us. That's rather nice. The best keeps getting better. I dare wonder what else is going on but I'm not asking. Seems a lot of hard work went into this one. Thank you sincerely, Jim P.S., as you know, you guys are the best!
  16. Subdividing the Skins Database

I see the need to make a change regarding the database. Here on Combat Ace the First Eagle Skins are sorted out by manufacture or type. It looks good and seems very functional to me. I voted for a step further and would like to see by type. Or maybe a combination of manufacture and type based on the number of skins posted? http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?app=downloads&showcat=359
  17. It's Time To Play,"What's My Plane" !

What happened here with Dej is the main reason this game is so intense for me. In this set of pics I was going to identify pic 38 but thought I should check and see if someone else had done it yet. Sure enough Burning Beard gave the same ID I was going to give. So that made me work on the Fokker DV. I tought it was French from the engine and spinner but then I saw the German pilots, captured plane maybe.... well feeling very rushed to give the answer I posted asap. If a guy could take his leasurely time you could identify the crew and all the assorted whatnots but that's not this game is it. The tension makes it what it is. And in my case someone else's answer earned me 2 points. Dej, you are a good sport. Good luck on that last answer.
  18. Maybe I'm weird, hah, no doubt , but I have wanted to learn of any relation of mine that served or in particular flew during WWI. So far no luck. But as I have mostly brit and some german background there is a good chance if I go back far enough. My mother's mother's second husband was a WWI vet. I knew him and remember he still had his uniform and medals. Now I wish I was older at the time. He passed maybe 30 years ago. I hope his family still have his memorabilia and cherish it.
  19. It's Time To Play,"What's My Plane" !

Pic #37 is the Fokker DV. Reinhold Platz's first design was the Fokker DV (M.22) single seater, which was brought out in the autumn of 1916. The engine, a 100h.p. Oberursel rotary, was provided with a circular open-fronted cowling. A large bowl shaped spinner covered the airscrew hub, so that thee was only a small annular opening left for cooling purposes. The single bay wing cellule was unusual in that the upper plane, which carried horn-balanced ailerons, was swept back. Horizontal stringers were used to give rounded sides to the fuselage; the emppenage was of typical Fokker shape. A single synchronised Spandau gun was fitted. Some 250 DV's were constructed. It gained the reputation of being difficult to fly and was thoroughly unpopular with pilots. Source: Fighter Aircraft of the 1914-1918 War by Lamberton and Cheesman
  20. It's Time To Play,"What's My Plane" !

Best wishes to all contestants. Let the stress begin.
  21. This dummy is having trouble understanding how to access missions installed with MadMatt's installer. I see the missions in the Training folder. Don't they need to be in the Quick Scenario's per appropriate Nation? I don't want to mess things up by jackin' around willynilly. Help with this would be great. I am probably not remembering something that was posted but help please? I was able to access the Gotha in the CFS3 QC found in the OFF Workshop. The Gotha is not finished but it's sure nice to have. I still would like to access the user-made missions though.
  22. How To Access Missions?

Yes , I have the older install. So anyway I know what's going on and I won't worry about it. Thanks again for all you do on the forum SD. I made assignments for my X45 following many of your assignments. I did set my TIR precision to the pinky switch tho. Seems to work well when I remember to use it.
  23. How To Access Missions?

SD, I downloaded that nupe but could not do anything with it. What folder does it need to go into?
  24. How To Access Missions?

And I'm guessing unclear is uncleal?
  25. How To Access Missions?

But those missions are useable? Do I need that plane, is it available? Or just ignore those missions?
