Any advice is appreciated. As I am using my laptop to run OFF BH&H I would like to move my WWI simming to a desktop pc. Money is short for a new rig and I was just given a Dell Dimension 2350. It may not be worth much bother toward running OFF eventually. I think I need to upgrade the graphics to a GeForce 9500GT and increase the ram to 1G. Currently it gives a virus spyware warning and seems to not run any programs. I get an exe. file missing message. I am not computer smart. I am thinking I should do a system recovery and try for a clean XP install. If anyone cares to advise me I can supply more specs and photo's if that helps. It is missing the sound card too. Did some more checking, I may need to doa 9400 1G card. I don't know if this is a PCI or a PCIe. I need to figure that out somehow.The service tag is DPC6521 I guess checking with Dell should help, right? I wonder if I could run IL 2 if I increase the ram to 1G and upgrade the graphics to a Nvidea 8400GS?

PCI slots for sure. I spoke with a local geek and he reaffirmed what Uncleal said and as I suspected. Crapola doorstop. Of course the geek went on to try to build me a $800 gaming rig but funds are lacking thses days so no go. Still have my good laptop to OFF with so I am good. Thanks for your help and advice guys.

I quess what I'm asking is can you have two controllers working? Pedals are seperate from sticks and work together. Can a guy fly with a stick and when he switches to observer grab the gamepad and aim and shoot? I guess I'll just have to try it and see.

Seems like a terror to fly through but the guys did it IRL. Good work I say. I would not want to see it all the time but maybe around balloon defence. Which I think would be historical. Can you imagine at dusk and/or dawn how this looks?

No we do not have DSL. I thought the interference was from the wireless handset.

All of your positive reports makes me glad that I have put off flying the SXIII. Seems when I campaign her I will have better success and enjoyment. Someone needs to tell MK2 about the Super Patch and spad improvement.

Oh I think we get it. One great aspect of the OFF sim is our ability to relate with one another on this forum. I enjoy reading all flight descriptions and they do indeed remind me of the real accounts that I've read. Thanks for sharing Mr. Lucky

Good lord yes. There's enough doohickies, gadets, switches, patches, lights, bells and whistles now. No complaint here but I think maybe we can all be happy for awile with what we have. Well at least until some new kites roll out of the shop. I look forward to seeing the new birds in what almost seems to be hi-res to me now. OFF BH&H has never been better.

5) IMPORTANT NOTE: You MUST exit the sim by using "Esc" key then select "End Mission". If you do not, your mission will not be recorded!! So do NOT use immediate exits. For example using keys (even when binding these to joystick buttons) such as : Alt+F4 Ctrl+Q Ctrl+Shift+Q will cause CFS3 engine to quit immediately with NO mission recorded! So Hit Esc then Press the End Flight button on the ribbon top right. Hey guys good sticky but the above info in this post is copied directly from the OFF website FAQs page. I have printed for myself a hard copy of much of the OFF information and placed it in a 3 ring binder for ease of access. You can organize the info by topic. I find for my old eyes and ways that as good as the computer is for information my comprehension fares better from reading hard copy and perhaps more than once. I share this as perhaps it might be a good idea for some of you other frequent fliers. It can be a bit of grade school fun too in designing/decorating your binder. Pol and the OBD team have amassed so much information for us reguarding OFF BH&H that perhaps they even lose track of the bits and bobs. Of course the OFF Tips and Cheats are a prime canidate for this treatment as well. Just a thought. I have shared this in the past but we have new members that might find this useful. Have you ever read some really great info and later lost track of the thread it was in?

Hi uncleal, I got everything but the monitor and soundcard. Being ignorant I do not know wht AGP stands for. I do see PCI cards available 512 and 1G. This is the one Dell recommends. http://accessories.dell.com/sna/PopupProdu...89&price=60

Also, I am unfamiliar with XP. Should I run XP on this sucker or something else? Still researching.

Good for you my friend! Yes it's never been better. Wonderful set of pics you posted. Today I flew a Scenario for the fatherland. Fokker DVII's patrol the front. We encountered Spad XIII's and had a wonderfully fun furball. I poured lead into one spad and his engine caught fire then his left upper wing flew off and then I saw the pilot jump out. I nearly made mincemeat. I watched the plane trailing a beautiful smoke plume as it fell earthward. I never had a pilot bail out before this. I need to get the Vector expansion yet for my TIR3 pro. Oh and skin is Fantastich!

How well does Quick Combat work? The new Scenario's, are they working?

That happened because of this thread you started. I think the same thing has happened 4 times in the last week on this forum. "Boy am I lucky or what?" Next post, I died. It's the kiss of death. When you want to kill off your man just brag about him here or question how realistic your luck is. Works like a charm.

Take any good luck you get while you can. Luck swings both ways. I know a run of good luck almost seems like cheating but then how does it feel when the luck runs against you for a long time? You can't control luck. I just go with it myself.
