Is P4 getting a sound overhaul?
Herr Prop-Wasche replied to redpiano's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Creaghorn, of Creaghorn's sound brew, has been tasked with improving the sound for P4--which must explain why we haven't heard from him for awhile. -

Have you tried my FM for the DII? I tried to make it a little "clumsier," and in the new FM I am STILL working on, I tried to tone it down even further. I'm in the middle of grading exams right now, but hope to have some time to finish the FM sometime in the near future--2 weeks sound reasonable? -
Who wil be the first sim pilot to die from colliding with a cow, I wonder? OBD should also sponser a cow-tipping competition when P4 comes out. Cow-tipping is a long and hallowed tradition here in the states. Right Lou?

A Newbie's Experience of Phase 3
Herr Prop-Wasche replied to CaptSopwith's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Try my DM, Buddy, and you should see flamers and wings coming off in power dives. -
Neither one, I hope! (Love the production values)! When is that from--1927?!!

You sir, are the moddiest! I think you have even more mods enabled than me! I agree that the mods probably don't have anything to do with the lack of Huns, with two possible (although unlikely) exceptions--Bletchely's 1917 mod and my weather mod because they alter the campaign mission frequencies. My thinking is this: OFF does not use spawns, but instead generates missions based on actual squadron location and activity. In some scenarios in my weather mod (during a major battle like the Somme, for example), I altered some of the missions on rainy days from "0" (representing a complete washout) to "1" (representing one mission on that day). On other days during fair or good weather (again during major battles), I sometimes increased the mission frequency from 1 to 2 or even 3 missions for that day. I'm wondering if the OFF Order of Battle does not contain enemy squadron "assignments" for these extra missions. Therefore, in your Sherlock Holmesian investigation, I recommend that you start with these mods to see if removing them cures the problem. In the meantime, maybe a kind soul from OBD will jump in here and give us their opinion on the "mystery." I just hope I'm not playing the role of Moriarity!

Lima, are you using either my or Bletchley's campaign/weather mods, or any mod which alters the mission frequency (e.g. changing number of missions per day) of your campaign pilot?

Me likey, Lou! Looking very nice. And with a Caudron, to boot! I really like the idea of loading this up at the beginning of a new career to simulate early flight training of the time. I like your flight school curriculum. If I can find the time, I will try and investigate why the Caudron sits a foot or two into the ground. Should be something that can be fixed with an FM tweak. -
Absolutely! Welcome to the club, Rambling Sid. New guy buys the drinks--again! hic!

best damage mod for BH & H.
Herr Prop-Wasche replied to sceptre's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
Hi, sceptre. I thought I'd give others a chance to answer, first, but since no one has, I guess I will toot my own horn a bit. Of course, I think the latest edition of my DM is the best. It's called HPW's Ultimate Damage Mod 1.25 and can be found in the downloads section. If you find you like it, you might be interested in trying out one of my FM mods. Let me know if you have any questions. -
No, but he may have seen the Easter bunny!

There are just so many aspects of flight that have to be checked and re-checked, each time you change something: speed at sea level, speed at different heights, climb rate, dive speed, turn rate, etc. I also have to check to make sure that certain aspects of flight aren't altered whenever I make a change--things like roll rate, stall behavior, etc. One little change can mean an hour or more of testing! -

Looking good, Lou. The XI would be a nice change of pace to fly, I think, and would give us a greater appreciation for the rapid advances in aviation from 1911 to 1915 or so. If I am correct, isn't the XI a wing warper? If you have any questions about the FM, don't feel shy about sending me a PM. In regards to the FMs I have been working on: I am 95% finished with them. It's just that the last 5% seems to want to take 50% of the total time! More specifically, I am totally done with my revisions to the German planes and most of the Allied planes, with the exception of updates to the N28, Fokker EIII, Spad VII, and the 220 and 235 HP variants to the Spad XIII. The main delay is in testing--every little FM change requires an additional round of testing, and I want to make sure I get things just right! Again, I apologize for the delays, but I am trying--I really, really am! -
Question re: Pilot Dossier text files
Herr Prop-Wasche replied to rjw's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
Oh, I'm sure that the devs have detailed info about these files, otherwise, how could they design the game as it is? What I meant is that we users don't have detailed knowledge of the dossiers files, not the devs. As to why they haven't answered, I guess they want to preserve a little mystery! Also, once people start fooling around with the dossier files, then it would become impossible to provide support, since everyone might have different dossier files or aircraft rosters from the "standard" installation. -
