Axegrinder will have an mp game up around 8ish,,,,not sure but belive he is edt. Last couple of new pilots that have joined in had a great time, so any of you that have been thinking of trying mp, join in. Teamspeak is a great help, all the info you need is in a work in progress post in the mp forum. Players must be patched to 1.30c with the optional 1.30c hardcore damage model installed. Ip will get posted in mp forum when game is up.

Phase 2 vs 3 questions
sitting_duck replied to Kelly Mo's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Development Thread
Well,,im not a flight sim enthusiast either. All i do is bi-planes....period. But i am a wwi simulator fanatic, especially when it comes to mp. Am i jealous of all these ppl that have the time to get into these envolved long campaigns? You bet, but i just dont have the time for both. Considering how close this game (even phase 2) comes to be actually flying, (as close as you can come on a computer anyways), find it hard to understand you could be bored with it already. This is a link to missions that used to be up at our old site. They recently crashed, and are in the process of rebuilding. Cant say for sure if they will ever rebuild all the downloads, but it may be worth your time to check there everyso often to see if they have. The ones prefixed ph-3 are for off3 only. http://sim-outhouse.com/index.php?lloc=dow...otsden#download Hope this rebuilds your enthusiasm for the game. And, it goes without saying, Multiplayer adds another dimension to this sim. Unfortunaly off2 can not play with off3. So when you get off3, we just started doing some afternoon games that are a good time slot for ppl overseas. -
Lou, If not too much trouble, could you make the title for your missions in the xml file a little closer to the name of the mission xml file. took me a few to realise that the "secret mission" that was in my drop down was the one i had just installed. i know..picky picky picky...

sitting_duck replied to JimAttrill's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
Thout it might be your default resolution, but changed mine and could not duplicate what you are describing. any chance of posting a screen shot of that? With the workshop up, use ctrl+printsceen, go to accesories>paint then edit>paste, and save as a jpeg, and upload the pic. might be a font setting somewhere, but seems that you would have problems with text in othere places if this where the case. -
dee dee dee dee (twilight zone theme....) Yeah,,,this is throwing me too....do you have the cap reflectors AND the clip???
-
Someone may tell me im wrong, but i dont think you can do that. People would just be doing "saves" if you will, and restoring whenever they lost a pilot with alot of time on him...Considering a 17hour pilot seems to be a milestone, we would have ppl with pilots with 30,,40 etc etc hours.... Not to say you are out of options. Hard drives are relativly cheap, and i have Ghost on every computer i own. My business computer backs itself up onto a second drive everynite at 2am. (waste of time doing a backup to a second partition on the same drive). And although you may think your pilots and campaigns are the most important thing on your harddrive, when you actually loose a drive, thats when you realise all the stuff you wish you had backed up.

Rickity,,,,belive me, you where no problem at all......we LIKE helping people.....and there isnt a single one of us that didnt need to be taken step by step thru the whole process... One of these days soon,,you will get the oppurtunity to help someone else get into a multiplayer game, and know exactly what i am talking about. And not sure what a thirdwire genre is....but hell,,,we've been having a blast for a long time now!!!

Whenever i piss off stump in multiplayer,,,he (and rooster is another one), switch to the bristol.. I know its always suicide, but i go after them anyways....i think the score is somewhere around stump 215 duck 4. What has always amazed me (something that may have been resolved in the latest patchs) was its ability to pick me off at ranges well over 1200 ft. Have yet to find a blind spot for that rear gunner.

OT: Help choosing a monitor
sitting_duck replied to redwolf's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Obviously cant help you pick out a monitor,,,thats just too much of a personal decision. But if it helps any, i went from a 21crt to a 24lcd (acer, whould never go for an off brand) primarily for the reason this computer is at work, and it was just too much of a pain moving the crt around when i needed the space. The 24 was not that pricey, only 249 usd, but I have 2 reservations about going to an lcd. one, you gain width, but loose hight, and unless you go huge, the total viewing space either stays the same, or is really not that much more than when you started. And the crt definatly had a crisper picture. Im not saying im unhappy with my lcd, but if this computer ever gets to where its not being moved around, i will be looking for a mammoth crt. BTW,,the 21 inch crt (along with 2 others i have here) where given to me by computer repair shops. They seem to have little or no resale value to them, so you might want to check around your area and see whats available. lol....realise there is some "status" of having a flatscreen,,,crts seem to be going the way of the dinasour. -

Phase 2 vs 3 questions
sitting_duck replied to Kelly Mo's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Development Thread
Damn kelly mo, after reading your posts i would think it would be your hubby asking YOU if he could get a game....... -
Put up a mp game last nite to help bala ( who is in england ) get aquainted with multiplayer. Kamikaze joined with no problem, but bala just sat on "loading" Had bala try some various things (turn firewall off, etc etc) but nothing helped. Had bala host a game, which i could join with no problem. Out of desperation, went into my router and turned on dmz (kind of a stroke of luck, cause kamikaze, had just told me about that dmz setting, I never really knew about it) With all the ports open, bala was able to join my game. I must have port forwarding done correctly (2300 in udp and 28883 to 28887 in udp) done correctly, or kamikaze, or anyone else for that mattere would not be able to join, and bala is the first one in a long time that has ever had a problem with connecting to me. Was wondering if there are addtional ports that need to be enabled for other countries....seems to me that is just about the only thing that could be going on here, unless i am missing something else.

have a game up to help bala get the feel for mp. game is down

hey bala....turn your firewall back on!!

This is how i have done it (should be the same for you, but you know how that goes) Most important thing i can remeber that you have to do, is to make sure when you host the game, and are going thru all the options the host has available is to DESECLET the "show my game in cfs3 server" box (or something very close to that) started game on computer 1, and hosted a mp game. started game on computer 2, and went to the mp medal, and the game that was hosted on computer 1 was already there in the server list. If you are hosting a internet game, the "icon" for the game in the server list is signal strength bars. If you are hosting a LAN game, the icon for the game in the server list is two computers, and then the signal strenth bars So all computer 2 should need to do is dbl click on the computer icon iin the server list, and you will be connected. Goes without saying that the lan has to be set up already, and not firewalled, ect ect.. Make sure you can at least transfer files between computers. And just to let u know, you would think a lan game would play great, but i have on occasion saw alot of stuttering in a lan game. Admittedly, i dont have 2 "fast" computers to do this with, so that could have been the problem. will put up a screen shot later when i have time. Once you get it set up, think about taking it one step further and connecting with some of us die hard mp players. Just to clarify, this is for a lan setup thru a router. It is a wireless router, but it is the same if the computers on the lan are hardwired and/or wireless. If you are trying to connect thru a hub, not sure if it will work. Going to assume that once the hosts game is up, and you are trying to join on the other computer, you would enter the hosts internal ip (which you get from ipconfig in a dos box). For the screenshot below, like i said, the link for the game just seems to be there automatically once i get the othere computer to the host/join window. If it wasnt, then i can just go to join game, and either entere the internal ip (198.162.x.x), or the exterenal ip (which would make it for all intentional purposes an internat game, and not a lan game). hope this helps

Sunday afternoon. Realise that maybe a 3 day weekend wasnt the best time to schedule a game, but good time for anyone who hasnt tried multiplayer, but wants to, to join in. Hopefully something will be up around noon.
