Everyone who has ever had trackir iworking in everything except multiplayer that i have encountered has not had the lastes build. So, unless you never plan to play it in mp , i would venture over to the site and see if you need to upgrade. latest driver is 4.1.036 for trackir...not sure if there are different drivers for the clip one

will have a game up 4/21 around 730edt just ran thru pds new mission (train busters), and its pretty good. you need the zepplin, will put up a game and watch tac.

max..what time (my time) might that be?

If i remeber correctly, you used to be able to go from the off manager to the mission option at the bottom , and in the next screen, from the mission drop down, scroll to the bottom to the custom missions selection, and then you would end up with the missions medal, and the 3 flyouts that would allow you to select the missions in your historical and whatif folders. But me and at least one other pilot just hang on the screen that should show the mission medal. Anyone else have this problem?

Ok, so im not the ony one that can't get that to happen....Tried both settings in workshop,,,and nothing ever happens. Funny, cause it used to work fine in OFF2 Ok, and oldham,,,(Hauksbee - come out to Campaign, man! Be a grown up pilot!)....when you gonna take the plunge into mp???? Need 15 more pilots to do pds new mission...

ok,,,getting tired of searching for the alacrity walkthru post,,(recommending it to everyone...).... what does it take around here to get something that should be a stick a sticky?

Highly recommend you look at this thread http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=40014 Admittedly, there is a bit of learning to do here, and you HAVE to read everything thru just to make sure you understand what is being presented, and why you are doing what you are doing, but homeboy has done a terrific job of laying out the process for AlacrityPc, and the blackviper site is pretty much straight forward, as long as you take the time to read it. Its basically 2 steps, stop all the process you dont need for normal operation that are always running, and the second step shuts down the processes that you dont need for the game, which are then restarted when you stop your game. and as always, should you have any questions about it,,,im sure someone in the forum will help you out.

well..sorry you had problems with this catch..but gotta admit,,,alacrity made and incredible improvement in my game. And, as long as anyone takes the time to follow homeboys walkthru, step by step, its a great tool..

well,,,from the off manager, and then the mission option, i think you used to be able to select the last option in the drop down, as pictured.. and then the next screen would only give you the missions medal, as pictured ( i had to get this screen shot by getting into the game thru the cfs3.exe, not the off manager) and when you clicked on the mission medal you would have the 3 fly outs,,,campaign, quick combat, and training...... but when i try to do that now,,,it just hangs on the window where the mission medal would show...all i get is an hour glass. Ive tried it on 2 computers,,the one at work,,and the one at home. and as far as track ir not working in mp, that usually indicates you dont have the latest build.....

Another great job homeboy. And as it turned out, the memory defrag problem i was having with fsautostart must have been with an incompatibilty problem with fsautostart and xp64 cause i put alacrity on and it defrags fine. and,,BIG improvement on fps with alacrity. so,,only big question now is why this isnt a sticky...

Hi, I have always wanted to save config files as "profiles", ie,,have one for quick combat, another for multiplayer. Can you outline exactly what you do to save your config settings?

ok,,not sure if i understand what you mean when you say "increasing my available memory"....I had changed my virtual memory to something (i forget what) but when i got the problems with fsautstart, changed it back to system managed,,,forget what the system set it to...

just as an afterthout, (had it in the back of my mind that fsautostart just might not be fully compatible with xp64), i got alacritypc, and put it on this computer, and it defrags the memory with no problem, and reports as 7.7 gigs....so,,,cant wait to see how game runs... some of us are of the "tim taylor" type...

well,,let me ask you if you have any idea what is going on here... I did get memtest86, and will run it tonight before i leave, and also looking for a "quiker" mem tester utilty (if you have any suggestions)... system is xp64 w/8gig ram When it runs the defrag, it alwasy stops as shown( 197 of 410), and i get that funky line "free physical memory at end -1 etc etc " at the start of fsautostart and then again after it stops at 197 on the memory. I take it this is not what i should be seeing when i defrag the memory..and curious why it appears to be only seeing 4gigs of the 8 gigs installed

game is down... pd mustta had male pms when he wrote the last couple missions.......flak in fuel train missions is unbelivable...

lol....yeah it will play it....if i had to do it all over again,,,,,would i go nvidia over ati? well,,,if i could get a compatable nvida for what i paid for the 4870, yes,,without a doubt, but at the time i was putting everything togethere, without a doubt i got the most bang otta my buck with the 4870., have always figured nvida vrs ati was the same as chevy vrs ford,,,,,nikon vrs minolta,,etc,,etc,, ie,,,they are all good products,and it boils down to personal perfernce,,,,or loyalty if you will. but there is this reoccurring tidbit of information that says off plays better on nvida than ati....cant say for sure if this is true or not. And i built my comptuter for off only,,its the only game on here. so,,,not trying to throw a kink into your line of thout,,but,,,if this upgrade of yours is primarily for OFF, might not be a waste of time to research nvida, and see if maybe they have dropped the price of some of their high end cards to match what ati did on the 4870. and one more thing to consider (as i just found out when i tried to overclock the vid card) most of us cant afford a system that allows full potential of these top end video cards. Off gets no benifit from a quad core, and just guessing here, but think you have to be around 3.6ghz on the cpu with everyhing else in tune to get the most out of a 4870 or compatable gtx285. who knows,,i might be have gotten the exaxt same results with a 100 buck video card as my 4870.

hmmm,,,,not sure if i can agree with you there bird dog,,,,... gaw,,,if you have 9.3 (which i never had, and seems bird dog did). then might not be a reason to upgrade...but from 9.2 to 9.4 i noticed a pretty good improvement in fps only....artifacts are strill there when i turn my head fast,,etc,,etc.

MULTIPLAYER

yes,,i did.. supposedly auto tune was suppose to be improved...gui was alot different,,took only about 45 mins to complete..(<<< sarcasm) and left me with gpu and mem clock almost maxed out. was kinda excited till i tried to play the game,,,,and set it back to default right away.. bottom line, im back to the original settings i had with 9.2. and yes,,fps is bout 15% better...but,,as been pointed out before,,,this is just my system (fyi 4870)

sorry, i was going thru that way too fast, and was doing things from habit, and thinking i was doing something else from the workshop select multiplayer,,,,,,select turkey shoot or whatever from the mission drop down in the next window, and then you will get the screen with 2 medal,,,multiplayer, and missions...the missions medal gives you the 3 tabs...campaing,,,,quick compat,,,and training,,,,you should be able to access the whatif and historica missions from here... hope that squares it away for you

i have it installed here too.....use the start...progreams etc etc etc and there is a uninstall cfs3...... as long as there is an uninstall,,,i dont recommend deleteing folders,,,tooo hard to get everything...

i did the defrag memory on fsautostart. No clue what its doing (other than kinda the obviouse), just did it cause you suggested it. it starts doing its thing and stops at 197 (out of something close to 400) and gives me a message saying "unable to allocate memory" and goes on to the nex fsautostart task.. Dont suppose if you have any idea if this is normal, or if it indicates i may have a problem. All the "good" memory testers i looked at take bout 4 to 6 hours to run comprehensive tests,,,and im not a patient man... does anyone else running the defrag memory get this too?
