Am not sure if everyone must have the same patch installed for game play, but in light of the pilot with xp64 (my os) that can not start BHAH after install 1.3, I will not be installing it until i am sure there are no problems. Suggest anyone wanting to join any of my games do the same. (ie,,,do nothing)
-
will have a just for fun game up around 8ish edt. ip will be posted in mp forum. Am patched to 1.3 with hdm, so am assuming anyone wanting to join must be the same. As always, teamspeak is a great help in mp
-
Well,,the game started,,,and played,,,didnt mess around with enough to say i can tell a difference. will be putting up a game tonight around 8is, if anyone wants to see if there are any compatablity problems, but assume you must be patch to 1.3 with hardcore to join
-
lol....and u left out the most important part...too few pilots.... I will be taking the plunge, and installing 1.30 today, and the corresponding hdm model.
-

Hi I have never had the dvd version of cfs3, so I cant say this for sure, but I am not so certain that cfs3 installed from the dvd version was ever made NOT to run with the disc in the drive. The advantage of having the dvd of cfs3 is that it is already patched to 3.1, and therfore you dont have to have cfs3 installed on your computer to install bhah. During the install process for bhah, it will ask you where you want BHAH to get the files it needs from cfs3....you can choose an installation of cfs3 already on the computer, or a disk (the dvd). If you select the dvd, then you will not have to have a disk in the drive for bhah. I cant say for certain if you use the cfs3 installation (that came from a dvd), that you will need a disk in the drive, but if I was doing this, i would use the disk for the files it needs to copy from cfs3, and not the installation, just to be sure.

there is a similar post in the general help forum. Seems if you go to normal dm model, you are able to fly that plane. So least you have a work around till they get the fix out. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=39256 -
My bad,,,read the post wrong. 285 is a really nice card.

Just Arrived, Failing to run
sitting_duck replied to Havoc04's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
Havoc, First, i hope you stick with this, cause i know you will be pleased if you do. And there are too many vista64 users running this for that to be the problem. I do not have vista, for obvious reasons, but I question whether or not turning off the user account control means you do not have to follow the proceedure to run as administrator. Really hope to see you get this thing running. -

Just Arrived, Failing to run
sitting_duck replied to Havoc04's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
Hi searched the posts for what i remeberd seeing, but could not find the exact post i was looking for, however, i am pretty sure you have to be doing 2 things. make sure the executables are set to run in compatatibilty mode for xp . Find the shortcut for all the off programs you are going to run (offmanager.exe cfs3.exe and cfs3mp.exe) right click the shortcut > properties>compatibilty tab, and set them. You already seemed to do the "run as administrator thing" I dont have vista, so i am just repeating what ive see. pm griphos or axgrinder if you need more help. they both have vista, and will be glad to assist you. -
Plan to have a mp game up around 730 edt. Will be just for fun game for anyone wishing to attempt mp that hasnt already done so. will post game and ip in the mp forum. Teamspeak is always a big help in mp, so if you dont have it, read the mp tuturial in the mp forum for details

Running OFF @ 2560x1600 resolution - what hardware is needed?
sitting_duck replied to Rittmeister Schulz's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
go to google, and do a search on "gtx295 micro stutters". seems like the dual gpu cards may have some problems. (ati 4870x2 is even worse) But as always, do the research for yourself, and make your own decision. -
You may want to google "nvidia 285 micro stutters" Not saying its a huge problem, but seem to be alot of posts about it. I almost got the 4870x2 (dual gpu), thank god parky steered me away from it. 295 has the same problem. Major micro stutter problems with the dual gpu cards.

Any future cloud fix coming?
sitting_duck replied to Hiccup's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
This is a little confusing, because everything I have ever seen in the past regarding the cloud setting has been to set it to 1 or 2. Are there any reasons NOT to set clouds to 5 if you have a system that supports the setting? -
game from yestereday is still up will watch tac for players, probably will not get on teamspeak unless someone joins will leave game up indefinatly.

Thats interesting about the cabels... I had always thout that crossover was yellow, and patch was blue or gray......Only cause this is what i've seen in retail pack....amd never seen a router that came with anything other than blue or gray. lol...and right about sharing a wireless connextion,,,not in the mainstream to say the least. and,,,as far as the router goes,,,,what you said may work, but the business next to me (they have cable interntet) let me put in a router, and get the signal. In so far as its my router, not worth it to mess things up. As soon as a game is up on old computer, when i go to new computer and get into the mp window, i see this. I can either dbl click on the game, or use the join game, and enter the external ip of the game, to connect. The host/join window will not change any. Now if i click on join game, and enter the internal ip of the host, it will connect, and now the host/join window will look like this in the past, if i have been connected to someones game, and for whatever reason had to get out and get back in, occaisionaly their game will show up in the server list. So i guess you could say i am running both,,,a lan and a wan game. What i dont know for sure, is if this were a normal setup, ie 2 computers with wireless adaptors, and I hosted the game on one computer, would i be able to join on the second computer with both the internal and external ip's of the host. Seeing as how you are set up in pretty much that manner, you might be able to answer this better. I am assuming from your post when you jdid your games, and joined the host computer you entered the internal ip of the host, and connected. that doesnt mean if you had entered the external ip of the host it would not have also connected. In regards to the original post, (ie getting olham up and running with the neighbor) , if by some miricle he is still reading this thread, would be interested to find out if he ever got his game up and running. -

Hi had pretty much the same configurartion, but was running 2.9 celeron. If i remeber correctly, i used all the suggested tweaks for the cfs3config file, and ran sliders at 5 2 2 2 1.... Never did any nvida settings when i was running that machine, probably should have,,,,just didnt know about it enough back then to mess with it. And for multiplay, i would go back into the config file, and disable scenery. It ran fine for me,,,till people started posting screen shots...then you start seeing what you are missing... -
75.67.5.13 game is up, i have crashed, but will leave game up. anyone joining and not finding other players, suggest they put up tac or chat screen (cnt+shft+s) and watching occaisionaly to see if othere join. if you can not connect, computer may have hung during nite.

PC idiot's Multiplayer question
sitting_duck replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
because the new computer is getting its internet from the old computers shared interenet, and the router may (or may not) be assigning the internal ip of the new computer, but anyways, it ends up being 192.168.0.203 the only thing i can edit in the port forwarding settings of the router are the last 3 digits of the ip...the 192.168.1 is fixed.. its got something to do with the default gateway, cause that is 198.168.0.1 on new computer in ipconfig so, i can not host on the new computer,,,,but thats not a problem,,i just host on the old computer,,,and join that game.. It is definatly an internet game because if i want, i can chose join game, and just enter the external ip of the old computer, and it connects, and,,,i think i said it wrong,,,used yellow cabel to go directly from old computers ethernet to new computers ethernet,,,thats not patch,,thats crossover if you go from computer to hub to computer u use blue or gray,,,and thats a patch as far as lan games go, dont know how far you are able to go with that. The host has to connect to get the game up, and if there is no internet connection, don't think thats going to happen. Let us know if you find a work around for that. -
new page heading looks great...thanks to whoever

PC idiot's Multiplayer question
sitting_duck replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
if this is any help my new computer has xp64, which would not recognize my wireless card, so had to put card back into old computer, tell old computer to share its internet, and hooked up new computer with patch cable, (which would switch to crossover if using a hub) So now the new computer is getting its internet from the old computer when i start up a mp game on old compueter that game alwasys shows up on the new compueter in the server list. I just have to dbl click it. i cant host a game on new computer as the interenal ip is not in the 192.168.1.xxx format, which it needs to be if i am going to be able to portworward the routher. not sure if you could call this a LAN connection or not, as both compuertes are still running the game thru the intenet. -
