Will try and have my snapper up and ready. And Pol and Uncleal, I have deleted all that I know exists. Perhpas there are some hidden files that I don't know about. Now the last two flights (in campaign mode) gave me the same error message, but I did not explode. I will see what happens as I go on, but won't be doing much if any flying in the next 3 days :cray:

Thanks for your suggestions, CFS3 does play ok. I did a total uninstall of both CFS3 and OFF, deleted all files. Went in to Regedit and deleted the folders as instructions say on FAQ on the web site. I must be missing something. I have deleted the files that you had mentioned and ran a "cleaner" program. I can play the game but it appears that about half the time my plane starts on a runway and explodes and I don't get a chance to fly the mission (in campaign mode) whatsoever. Thanks Uncleal. What about the CFS3 files? I would think not otherwise I would have to set that up again? Perhaps just the OFF files? I looked into them and there was nothing inside the folders. I have 3 folders, in the OFF area that is under my documents -- "Campaigns", "Missions" and "QuickCom" they are called. But opening them there is nothing there so I assumed they couldn't be a problem. Perhaps I need to uninstall CFS3 and all the associated files? Do a defrag and etc and then start all over?

ANd the strange thing is I believe my MP access would have worked as I got rid of the "flickering screen" when trying to connect to a game. I have did a 2nd complete re install and defrag/etc and will try later tonight or tomorrow. Now I must go to work for a short while

The strange thing is, as I said, I have many, many hours in the game without a problem, then did a reinstall in order to try out multi-player. IT is SINCE THEN that I had the problem. I'll re install again. But there has to be a reason for something like this

It is thrilling for us to know there are fellows like all of you out there that are trying your best to make MP a great experience. I know I love my experiences from flying online in FSX. This is going to be triple the excitement. A good way to meet and make friends from all corners of the earth. It is much appreciated fellows. If I knew of any way to that I could help, I would let you know. I am not very "swift" in these departments.

No, not on Vista. But when I first get up the MP screen where you see the medals and etc (whether I access it thru the CFS3 shortcut or the OFF manager, my screen "flickers" it is "shaking"...which tells me something mighe be wrong that others have not seen yet? I hate to do a whole new install but may have to reconsider

was on the tutorial and teamspeak last Saturday I think it was and Ax and others were there but we couldn't figure it out. The very first time I had the message that I had a mismatch in planes. I had the right version but not the latest hardcore damage model . So installed and had it all current (so we think) and kept getting the message that connection to internet failied. I have high speed cable. We tired a variety of things. A thought was also that something with the udisel (???) was not correct or the game was not installed correctly. But I have played missions offline, as well as many dozens of hours in campaign mode and QC so I don't have a problem with off line flying.

I would like to get in, but tried one of the last and still can't get in. I am wondering if it is firewall or router problem. ?? Though I never have had that problem in many months of flying other virtual online sims, I was told that it might be different. I still appreciate the help I have received but I am so disapointed. I know almost nothing about firewalls and port forwarding, and am very, very stressed about making changes to my computer that works so well with FSX and FS9. Any ideas? RAS

Ok, what happened? I kept checking the site to see an IP server to go to and never saw that a game was going on. Maybe the instructions were to go to Teamspeak and then get the server address? did i miss the post as I still can't find it. Will try next time

Madmatt, I mentioned the ease of the self installer just a couple of days ago in the OFF multiplayer section and very happy to see someone taking it on. I dont know a thing about this process but I can tell you that I would be very appreciative of this. Hoping that you get some assistance. Thank you!!

I can see where I am going to have difficutlyt ever getting this up and running. I have tried both ways of entering a MP situation and even though no one is hosting at the time, I should be able to get somewhere. I have tried both methods (OFF manager method) and the shortuct method thru CFs3, using the shortcut.. In each case time and time again, i get the message "mission failed to load". Funny that it doesn't work as I have downloaded and flown both of RAF Louverts missions of the Alpine run and Zeps over Paris. Can anyone make a self extracting download or whatever it is called? I've used them from other flight sim enthusiasts that download aircraft and missions from FSX. For those of us (and there are many) we are challenged. This is so frustrating, darn near ready to giave up. It shouldn't be this tough

I have downloaded the required files and I read somewhere it said that the Gotha should appear as a German plane/. I can't find it. I set up a pilot for the RAF for a quick combat but did not have a choice to go up against them. Then I tried to enlist as a German pilot and choose a squadron that flies it. How do I know if my files are uploaded correctly. I am not knew to copying and moving files and folders as I do it all the time in FSX and in FS9. This is a bit strange as i look forward to joining an upcoming flight . Thanks

I am going to give this a try again as I fly online with FSX and TS. But just wondering, do we have to fly with an add on mission? I tried to download one of the gotha missions (maybe it was the one with the searchlight) and I couldn't get it to work. Another suggestion would be to delete some of the old posts about flying this coming Wed, or next Sunday. I just spent a couple of minutes reading about a flight for next Sunday, which in fact is a week old. Thanks

Being very new to WW 1 history, I just came across the information about the book and now subsequent movie about the story of Frank Luke, Jr. i did a search and saw that he was mentioned a number of times, but after a number of inquiries, didn't see anything about the book. Well said, SIr. Having started this thread, and very, very new to WW 1 sims and history, I have found the dialogue very interesting. And when it comes to "open minds" I want to commend those of you that continue to display that characteristic.
