How to get your sorties more thrilling!
Creaghorn replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
good one . reminds me of, when i started once a allied career, and i have 99,99% german campaigns, i was flying and there was after a while an albatros flying behind me. i was yawningly and bored looking at him. nothing special. when i suddenly realized i'm an englishman an no german, i jumped like sitting down with my arse on a sting . that made me older. good story, olham -

i think CGI would be better, as long as it's made good. red baron movie shows that CGI can make good and real looking AC (compared to flyboys, which really looks very computerish). they should only look for realistic behaviour instead of too much star wars style FM. IMO CGI would be better because you can make a pilot do whatever you wanna do. in real AC (blue max etc.) the stuntflyers are too cautious and have to fly certain patterns with safety first crap and where one can see that it's only choreographic. in hells angels and dawn patrol and wings on the other hand one can really see that there are real veterans flying.

Sound Tweak II patch...
Creaghorn replied to DukeIronHand's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
thank you for mentioning. i posted it in the old sound tweak thread. not sure if anybody noticed. -
i would like to see a new WW1 aviation tv-show, rather than a movie. with todays standarts tv shows are technically as good as movies 10 years ago (e.g. battlestar galactica etc.). maybe about MvR with a 2 or 3 season show. or the real story about escadrille lafayette, or about jasta 5 etc. or maybe a show with just a handfull, but long episodes, like the 80ies shogun or north and south.

good point. for me also in movies the soundtrack is as important as the movie itself. maybe even more. what would rocky or star wars be without their soundtrack. or lord of the rings etc.

Here is soundtweak II. for more realism, ready for download in the OFF downloadsection as soon as it's given free. contents are new sounds for AI flown aircraft with original engines of the apropriate planes and doppler-effect. right now only a few AI engine sounds are standing for many different aircraft. now you are going to hear the right engine for the right type with doppler effects. there are now 7 different AI-engines for each type, wich are randomly generated in a formation. so you'll hear the same aicrafts and same engine types around you, but in 7 different patterns, so the strange sound when all engines are synchronized is definitely gone!!! every aircraft sounds now differently!!! now you'll feel like really beeing there. i also softened a little bit AI engines, because feedback said it was a bit too loud. furthermore i tweaked the soundfile to have the effect that when an aicraft gets closer you'll hear it louder and vice versa. currently it's wether on or off, as before. also you'll hear now flak bursts the louder the nearer it is, and softer the further away it is. additionally i tweaked the air explosion files (when an aicraft is burning and exloding). the explosion itself is the very same. now you'll have additionally some broken engine, overrides etc. very immersive. additionally the frontambience is now also dependent of distance. the closer and lower you come to the frontlines, the louder it gets!!! contents are: 7 patterns of Inline-scouts (albatros etc.) Inline-twoseaters 7patterns of Sopwith camels 7 patterns of other Sopwith engines, besides the camel (pup, tripe, strutter etc.) 7 patterns for Nieuport versions 7 patterns of flying Spads 7 patterns of Se5's 7 patterns of Fokker rotaries sound-effect file drop into C:\Programme\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields wav-files drop into C:\Programme\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields\sounds the engine files won't replace anything, the explosionfiles will replace it, so please back up first the original ones. same goes for the sound-effect file. please save the original before replacing. there's no need for the first version. this version now includes everything as before, but much improved. as a suggestion, my sound sliders are set engine (own engine) 80 effects(AI-engines, explosions, guns etc.) 100 Cockpit (own guns etc.) 70 all original content belongs to OBD software have fun. please look into the download section, only for users of soundtweak II!!! small fix of nieuport silence (at least in campaign it works now. in QC i haven't tried) and other minor tweaks. drop all four off_merc_rpm files into C:\Programme\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields\aircraft\Alb_DIII_early_Sqd\sound. that's an original mercedes albatros engine you'll hear when in the cockpit. all other soundfiles drop into C:\Programme\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields\sounds (improved original sopwith engines) the sounds xml-file drop into C:\Programme\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields. when dropping into the apropriate folders, and it asks you to overwrite, just go ahead. please backup first any file you overwrite. just in case. original content belong to OBD software.

thank you sir, please also try the homebrew. maybe there is something useful for you also
-
as long as i've seen at least the albatros pilots are moving somewhat their head. that was there even before hitr. try when on the field in the outsideview when checking the controls.

yep. that's right. i also don't read everything. i was just surprised and it made me smile because you've been "that" surprised . that's a good one, i need that tool definitely too

olham, there are several people here using freetrack (gous etc.) it is mentioned fairly often in the forums for a year now. also how to build it, and links where to get parts etc. you read only what you wanna read, ol' chap, don't you?

Guynemer's Place of Death and Burial
Creaghorn replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
guynemer is dead? no, you must be mistaken olham. he's still flying and can't land because he's flying too high. that's officially confirmed, so please don't twist historical facts! -

Dev's - How's about a P4 Bone?
Creaghorn replied to Barkhorn1x's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
btw. in my recent roland campaign it happened twice so far that one of my wingmen simply exploded on the airfield (or was it just the grass?). i considered it like one of the common accidents which happened quite often in real. it was the first time it happened, so it's maybe dependend of the airfield, since i'm flying right now with the marine-staffel. -
sorry for hijacking your thread again, OvS. last monday my wife and i went to the doc who checked everything as usual via ultrasound. now it is about halftime and what happened? what was thought to be a girl several weeks ago, turned out to be a boy now. . so obviously some particular part was hidden well .

thank you, i already see myself driving in 3 a.m. through the city, searching for an open mcdonalds because she said: "daddy, wanna cheesburger". i don't think i'll be able to have some authority towards her at all because i'll be under her girly-pink-hello kitty-spell

nice story mike . i don't think that's insane. at least you knew already in the dream that it was a sim and not real, otherwise you would not mourn the loss of your DiD pilot. as long as i know one can't dream his own death. the moment one dies in the dream (where he thinks he dies in real) is the moment one wakes up. dreaming of BHAH is maybe one of the best compliments one can make for this product

great story . my wife and i (last time i mentioned her she was still girlfriend) are expecting a daughter in end of august/early september this year. that's exactly those stories i'm looking forward to have in future life .

A Specific Tweaking Question
Creaghorn replied to zoomzoom's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
thanks for the information. uncle al always says the only stupid question is the one never asked, so here's my question, though maybe stupid. if it's the whole theater loading, would it be possible to reprogramm the engine to seperate the frontsectors like it is in rb3d (flanders, marne, verdun etc.) so the system doesn't need to load the whole theater although you're only flying in a certain sector. so it has not to swap and load that much and wich would then improve performance? same for airactivity where formations of AC are flying in verdun, while you are flying at the coast? or did i get it wrong?
