that was wrong and reason it was this way is probably that the AC in blue max are more modern replicas or whatever. also when looking into blue max cockpits inside you could see there were more modern gauges etc. german AC mostly had a stick with a grip on each side wich you had to hold with both hands. trigger button was at the thumb on each side. so you could fire both guns by pushing both thumbs, or a single gun by pushing the apropriate button under the thumb.

"Du doch Nicht!" - "Kiss my a$$"

olham is definitely right. it's leck mich am arsch or short leck mich. i must know that. using this about 20 times each carride . so if you want to sound real german, write leck mich. that's definitely official since centuries. everything else wouldn't be german, or it would sound like wannabe german language. -
look here. from 3:15 on you can see how it was like to change drums of lewis guns http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JpIrNB2N-w&feature=related

well said. are you a rubbish pilot? if you survive long with view kills, then definitely not. then you are a good pilot as it should be. if you die quickly without many kills, you are a rubbish pilot. if you have some kills, and also die fast, then you are a more decent rubbish pilot. if you have few or none kills but survive quite long, than you are a good pilot and historically correct. if you have kills to get ace status and survive long, then you are a superb pilot. the absolute smallest percentage. just a note, about 3-5% of the pilots were responsible for about 40% of all kills. beeing an ace and live long is the hunter type like MvR etc.. not frank luke. the germans were wondering what the difference was between the 3% and the rest (character, smartness, attitude etc.). they even tried to make some psychological profile and tests to only pick out the 3% characters out and make only them scout pilots.

Cant get OFF to run more than 10 seconds
Creaghorn replied to Matador's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
if it freezes after several seconds it might be your antivirus thingy. try it with antivirus shut down. also you should set your regional setting to us region. also you have to patch cfs to 3.1 and then run it at least once before installing bhah. -
i'm aware that some people here have really awesome monitors, so it might not be the message of the century lol, i had so far 22" with res 1600x 1024 and it was already really nice and big. yesterday i bought for a good price a 26" screen with native res 1920x1200 and i must say, it's really great. how big the scenerie is overall with that better resolution, it's like really sitting next to them. looks so real.

A Question for OvS and the OFF Dev Team
Creaghorn replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
wow. very impressing . knowing that we are often a bunch of crybabies who want things rather today than tomorrow, should make us feel bad now and think twice before complaining again that some fix or patch or whatever is delaying. -
sorry old chap, but i can't agree. easiest claimform was for the french. you didn't even had to tell the type of AC you have shot down. the german claimsystem was pretty much like we have it here in BHAH. you had to write a report as precise as you can with the witnesses and then it wasn't in your hands anymore. the witnesses also wrote an own report to confirm and support your kill, or not. in the beginning kills behind enemy lines didn't even count as kill. later wreckage had to be seen as a proof. and compared to the brits, there was only one pilot credited for one kill. no word (cough cough) was accepted as (cough billy cough) proof enough (bishop cough cough). the brits had shared kills wich counted as full kills. two camels chase down a single albatros, both put bullets into him and every one of them got credited with a kill, though only one wreckage. ther germans also didn't have stuff like "out of control" etc. wreckage had to be found or witnessed, otherwise no confirmation. americans had to write a report and only groundwitnesses counted because airman might have supported each other with false claims. maybe to have different claimforms when flying for different countries in p8 lol? anyway. i believe the toughest confirmations had the germans and americans, and i'm glad in BHAH we have the german way of claiming

to be honest, actually it was rather stupid to buy it now. in march we'll have our wedding with all the costs, right now we're also moving into a bigger apartement etc. and some weeks ago we decided against a Wii (she really loves it) because we want to pay all the necessary paychecks we're expecting in the next view weeks, first and then looking for stuff like that. but. the screen simply smiled at me and i couldn't resist. i'll also secretly get the Wii asap for her, to keep it fair.

"Du doch Nicht!" - "Kiss my a$$"
Creaghorn replied to Check Six's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
i would translate it like "you? i don't think so!" wich wants to say to the enemy, YOU are not going to have the honor of shooting me down. so in short, kiss my a$$ explains it well. -
New Pilot needs performance help
Creaghorn replied to vyrago's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
you should also set air activity to light. it's not only more realistic, it will also give you a very good boost to the performance. with the years air-activity will increase anyway -

november 1917 together with 3 of my mates of jasta 5 we went up to patrol the cambrai area behind friendly frontlines. though the mud was several klicks to the west, we could see enemy artillery barrage bursting onto so far untouched forests, fields and farms well behind german lines (by the way, very touching and well done, how the battle of cambrai is slowly carried into sofar untouched german territory). underway we saw a formation of several sopwith camels below us, flying to the east, so we placed ourselves into the sun and stalked them a while, giving them time to go deeper into our territory to cut off their way back and to watch for other hidden enemies. then we dove for attack. i was able to hit one camel from above and then zooming up again, using my energy, while the camel swerved around to avoid my fire. i made an immelmann (hammerhead) for another pass and hit again his wings and fuselage, trying to again use my energy to stay above him. as i looked back i saw him turn, looked almost like turning on a dime. i flew straight, looking for him who was still underneath me. i didn't want to get into the position of getting into a turnfight with him so i just watched the hostile aircrafts next move. he turned away so i dove again onto him with another long burst, thoug not seeing any sign of damage. the camel turned and dived away, then my wingman took over. i lost visual with my other mates and other enemies, so i continued my patrol and regrouped them after some nm (warp). everybody was still there. we made our patrol without any further incidents. on the way back half an hour later we encountered one lonely camel below us. i attacked him alone without signal for attack. we fought a while and everybody was able to hit the other with some bullets. me, trying to stay above him, booming and zooming, him with trying to get me into a turnfight. we fought like madmen finally i hit something vital and he left a trail of black smoke. after another burst he stopped beeing evasive and just flew straight away towards his lines. with this same burst i exhausted all my ammunition, which of course he did not know. probably he was wounded. i flew next to him. we flew side by side, looking at each others holecrippled aicrafts. i didn't see his face good enough but i could bet that he knew he was beaten and would accept any fate. i could not bring it over my heart to order attack to my wingmen to shoot him down, though the times of chivalry are over since at least a year ago. is just wiggled with my wings to say farewell and turned homewards. damn, what a sim

here are some pics of the incident. probably it was roy brown whose life i spared, lol

yeah, mediterranean people, especially women, might answer to such things in their special way (getting plunked by flying houseshoes, or having to look into her devlish eyes with her eyebrows raised and hands on the hips, one foot tapping on the floor, scaring me like hell etc.) i wouldn't dare to show it to my fiancee .

Recorded my patrol flight

don't know what music it is, but obviously something from sony entertainment, since the movie is banned here, at least in germany. don't know what problem youtube has with sony since several months, but obviously everything which contains music under copyright or whatever of sony, is banned -
yes, makes sense lol, sorry for misinterpreting OvS i don't think there is an issue with vickers, and no issues with lewis guns anyway (as you said, no prop in the way). it was just the spandau having too fast default rof.
-
hi kaiser, thank you for your compliments, as long as i've seen blue AI with spandaus also has reduced rof, like it should be. spandau rof was reduced to meet more historical figures. i don't think there is a need to tweak rof of lewis and vickers, since they have been quite faster, so i don't think there's a need to reduce it also. chances of firepower is mostly even since germans had mostly two guns. when the allies began to carry two guns, their rate was simply better. but that's war and historical figures, so no need to be fair

it was in MvR's book as an epilogue from LvR. it was where he discribed what it was like to fly with his brother and some of his experiences and childhood etc. from his point of view. the picture of LvR with the wires in his face was the result of this incident. i think he never knew the upper wings just collapsed. from what he had written he thought he got hit by ack ack and because of this there was a loud crank and the upper wings were gone.

Ideas for P4, ( although I'm sure you have enough)
Creaghorn replied to a topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
i think that's what he means, olham. would be a nice feature to have automatically the witnesses who saw it instead of writing down the whole wing (wich for purists also might be considered somehow as cheating). maybe where pilots who saw it are automatically listed, and where you can write down additional witnesses(groundunits etc.). but the fact you have to write a claimform at all and write it openly with your own words should remain as it is. absolutely wonderful and unique in the world of virtual piloting. -
that happened to LvR, not MvR,

by the way, one thing i had in mind wich might be improved are the waypoints. usually in real an average sortie lastet around 90 minutes. currently you are flying to your assigned area, make two turnes and fly back home. when it's rather near your airfield the sortie lasts maybe 30 minutes. if you want to have longer sorties, then you have to chose missions with long waypoints to a different area. it should be you fly to your relativley near frontarea, and patrol between waypoints not twice but maybe 6 times or so, also when warping. i think rb3d made it quite correct. most of the time should be making your patrol, not getting there. just an idea wich shouldn't be too hard to do. -

would be a cool feature. currently i'm doing it myself. when i shoot an enemy down over friendly lines which is not too far from my airfield, i manually advance time to the next mission (investigating wreckage etc.). when landing a crippled aicraft at my airfield, i also advance one mission to give the groundcrews time to patch and fix my aicraft. the same if landing somewhere else. it takes some time, hours, maybe even half a day to get back with train, car etc. if my AC is damaged beyond repair, i sometimes advance one, sometimes two days, even 3 days, waiting for a new one. occasionally it also happens sometimes i want to fly although not having my own AC, so i just take default squadron colors for some missions till my new one is painted again. -

for me only two things are most important, everything else is just a bonus. first, more two seaters. there should be at least 60% two seaters in the air, the rest scouts. but for me the MOST important part, is the holy grail of smart regrouping from a dogfight without one side beeing wiped out. stopping to fight and flying straight in some direction is not regrouping but a sitting duck. i mean smart regrouping. like evasive moves and when having advantage of altitude, then flying away. a short clash for 3 minutes, then both sides seperate again and go on. often without a single casualty, as it was in real.
