8 hours ago, Burning Beard said:Hit Shift +W and it will direct you to the next waypoint. I do it all the time, so I just gain my altitude in transit.
This, and you can also change altitudes in the pre-mission, so drop the circle up waypoint altitude down a few thousand feet and then they should gradually climb to the next waypoint after that. Good luck!

And so it goes...

Sometimes it seems that way. Other times they will ignore you. I of course have no idea how AI prioritize targets, but the devs have said, if I remember correctly, that the AI doesn't know who the player is. Try to stay high when possible and they will usually go for lower targets, so much so that I often find myself going "Where'd everybody go?" Hang in there!

I think you have to target a plane first and then hit the padlock view to follow it. Look for the targeting binding in the key mapping.

37 times up + 37 times down = success, as we measure it!

Well, it's very nice!

That looks very nice! What are you starting from as your base?

Nice work! The SPAD was one of the premier birds of the war for sure!

I will say that:
A) I never seem to get the graphics or frame rates that a lot of YouTubers seem to enjoy but
B) I also don't put any time or effort into trying to figure out how to achieve them!

Hey Capt'n! You seem to have a slightly better system then me. I have a Ryzen 5 5600X at 4.28GHz (which may help a bit, I think this game is big on single core clock speed) and a 3060ti card. I am running at the same resolution as you. I also render out to 100km and my settings are mostly in the 5 region. I actually don't have the foggiest idea what my frame rate is, I am mostly happy if I am not noticing anything that would make me suspect that it is low, which I rarely do. I do see some slight slowdown here and their with larger groups, but it mostly seems to be momentary. Reinhold Reinhardt (Reinhardt Reinhold?) got pretty far into 1918 and there was nothing that ground me to a halt. Are you noticing things running sluggish or is it just the numbers seem low for your system? I know I have the less flights but more likely to intersect with me options selected, which seem like a good compromise. Hope that helps! Cheers!
edit: also, my monitor is not running anywhere near 144Hz, but I am not sure what impact that has on frame rate...

Seems like it was only last week that we were at #35...

Ha! At this rate I'll never get to the end of WWI! I did have someone else ask for this in the comments for the video (unless it was also you)...and - I don't know. WWII has never grabbed me as much as WWI, with the planes at the end of the war being nothing like the ones at the start, unlike "Oh, it's another 109...". Also, the greater closure and separation rates mean less in your face dogfighting and everything is harder to keep track of without resorting to labels. So I've just never had as much intetest. But who knows? Maybe as an alternating midweek madness run it might work.

A madder midweek than usual:
-
I did! And you would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for those meddlesome stealth clouds!
-
They are not the same videos! I don't know what I was thinking with the thumbnails...

I'm so mad...about the midweek!

The thirty-third installment of our (so far) thirty-three part series!

You guys really, really need to move the "all flights cancelled" alert in front of the "ground crew preparing flight" stuff! I had a string of a week's worth of days cancelled due to weather and it was literally 10+ minutes of me staring at the computer. (I know the time because I was recording a video). And it's not like you can run and grab a snack while you wait because you have to click so many times during the process! So if it is at all possible, please move it!

How do claims work?
in WOFF BH&H2 - General Discussion
Posted
I think the general consensus that we came to years ago is that it is weighted randomness. The game knows who you killed but the devs had to find a way to fudge it a bit for claims purposes. It could be cleaned up but I'm sure would entail a lot of work for two people to really dial it in. Even real pilots complained about their claims being rejected. I recommend easier over normal to avoid some of the frustration. Since I don't think the original game code tracks shared kills, having it on easier will have the game tell you how many it thinks you got. Some of these will still be rejected but it will be a more historical percentage.
