Man faces Jail after Urinating on War memorial
TSmoke replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
We had a very similar incident to a memorial in Ottawa i believe, 2 or 3 years ago, will have to find the article. Not a lot was done or said, I would of made the SOB's scrub each and every memorial in the city with a toothbrush, wearing a sign as to how fing stupid and ignorant they are. Here is the article. http://www2.canada.com/nanaimodailynews/news/story.html?id=2183274 Figures on reading it again bloody frogs. -
OT - Victoria Cross Citations - WOW!
TSmoke replied to Check Six's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Just a little tid bit that I would venture to say that 99.9% of Canadians don't know, and I am sure only a history nut like like my self would ever venture to look for out of interest and or curiosity. 3 people from the same street in the same city earning the same medal and having the street renamed in their honour. Here is a link: http://www.histori.ca/minutes/minute.do?id=10192 -
The dreaded swastika shown in JFM's picture in his post is the original and has a total different meaning to the one used by Germany in WW2. If you notice the original is hooked to the right, and the Nazi one is hooked to the left. Totally stupid and ignorant of a country censoring a freakin symbol, thats my opinion.

Check the hen house, thats where I would be if I was a rooster LOL.

I've tried drinking damn near anything that looks, smells and resembles booze. While in the military every payday just to start go to the canex by 2 cartons of smokes (6 bucks cdn a carton) back then and 2 cases of Vodka for the week. Next week repeat week one. Keep Vodka in the freezer and man she goes down like water. Finally got tired of being sick and tired quit all booze some 23 years ago.

I like to think of OFF as the girl next door. Yes you talked to her, played together when you were kids. Then you started to notice the other girls around and kind of put the girl next door out of your mind, and she moves to a different part of town. While you were going gaga over the popular girls at school, you never really noticed she wasn't there. Then one day you see you see this gorgeous girl in the mall, and tell yourself "what the hell it's worth a shot". Well after stammering and tripping over your tongue you finally realize" Holy chit it's the girl from next door, when did she become so HOT!!!!". Well as time goes on it's the same with computer games, sims whatever, if they have good genes it will always show through in the end. Just remember the "Ugly Duckling" story. My view on how I have seen OFF develop into what we now have. Thanks OBD!!

Yes this has happened just 2 days ago. Only difference was I was in a D2 and the pups bit my butt. Crash landed POW for the duration. My best guy so far 15.5 hrs. I was pissed!!

I voted for it to be removed, it seems to cause irrational and usless complaints. It is impossible anyways to reach a full real simulation with todays tech. anyways. Anyone that thinks 120% or 140% equals full realism is so full of crap their eyes are brown. How 2d world that a monitor gives you compare to a 3d world, ie field of view, depth perception all the little things that are impossible to duplicate on a home PC. I could care less about the % number, I fly with what I am comfortable with. The full real crap created a hell of a mess over in Hyperlobby for IL2, all the stupid number did was cause alot of bitchin and moaning. I would hate to see the same hapopen here. My 2 cents worth.

I am wondering where in OFF's main folder if there is anywhere to find FFB settings, and change their strength. For example in IL2's 1946 and all previous versions, in the main program files/ ubisoft/il21946 there is a folder called ForceFeed Back and you can swap out the FFB files with ones that have less force and shake to them. The FFB effects in OFF are either to weak or to strong especially the guns in my opinion. Or does one have to look in the Windows folder and find the FFB2 settings in there?? Thanks in advance.

I have had a similar annomally. I was trying to clear my wingmans tail one flight and was to far away. I watched as he burst into flames, crashed and went BOOM!!. I land and have my 3 other flight members present. Fill out a claim form, and debrief, says no losses from my flight but one from flight one. I use labels so I know it was my wingy who went boom. Advance time one day and my wingman is still there. Weird.

OT - What are your favorite Non-flight sim games?
TSmoke replied to Hellshade's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I usually play Silent Hunter 3 & 4. Used to be a big fan of Call of Duty series but to old and slow for on-line. like brothers in arms, but wish to heck there was a good tank combat sim around. -
godzilla1985 Welcome Iscin Your in for a real treat Godzilla is right, and your in for some hair pulling( your own of course), and some very colourful language, again your own. Have fun!!!!!!!!!!, just keep telling yourself it's a game, even though it doesn't feel like it.

Don't shoot me if I am wrong but if you are leading flight 2 that would mean you follow flight one. At least thats what I do now after reading the "out numbered poll." Also 2 comes after 1 so it kinda makes sense LOL. It makes things a hell of alot easier, the numbers are closer depending on the year you are flying and whether there is an offensive on. My 2 cents.

SUPERPATCH 1.32 is now available!
TSmoke replied to Polovski's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Well I for one am a happy camper!! I love the super patch, the new and gorgeous splash screen, and I can finally read the text and pilot names in the briefing screen with out my nose on the monitor. The dark background with the lighter text is spot on. Never had a problem installing anything over Phase 2 and everything seems to be running extra smooth. Shows what quality work gets you. A huge thank-you to the OBD developers!!! Thanks and geez you guys take a vacation before summer is gone, eat drink and do Mary....errrr be merry. -
AS for Canadians not knowing diddly about what you or I would call aces, great pilots, heroes, ect.Well we have always been to damned proud to make mention of such things or to have, for lack of a better word (Heroes) to look up to and admire with pride. AS a Canadian it ticks me off that our education system sucks when it comes to history especially Canadian history. The education system it seems is only allowed to teach only the marshmallow subjects that won't upset our so called multi-cultural society. There is no national pride left in this country, take a mini poll on your own go to work ask ten co-workers the significance of Vimy Ridge in Canadas histroy, name 2 WW1 aces, name at least 1 WW2 ace, anything you can come up with and believe me you will be embarassed and ashamed of the answers you receive or rather don't receive. Sorry for the rant, but ......

I have a fairly close PC to what Stapme uses a little better card and the game runs flawlessly for me, no stutters frames on airfield 25-27, combat with 12- 24 planes at low altitude 40 fps at high 60 fps. Use Xp with SP3 and stock vid card drivers. Don't give up you do not know what your missing, it can be a pain in the azz to get running right, but all my answers came from the search thingy and the OFF site.

Hitler Parody: Over Flanders Fields
TSmoke replied to Launchbury's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Have seen trailers for that movie and some of the battle scenes look really good. Reviews I have read stated the acting is atrocious and it is not historically accurate. I suppose it is good that I have never seen it for rent in the US, NY area. I wish Tom Hanks and Spielberg would do a WW1 movie, there is so much that could be done and it is ancient history to younger people even more so than WW2. Have you seen the movie sounds like a no to me, don't go by hearsay and third party information. No it isn't stellar but neither are the more poopular WW2 movies like Pearl Harbour and other POS movies. The Canadian film industry sucks on a whole but this is a huge step up from their usual efforts, except for the crappy love story the majority is pretty accurate. -
Kind of on the same topic but not different enough to start a new one. Question is .....Is there any way to change the text size or text style in the briefing screen. For a blind bastich like myself I have to squint, stick my nose on the monitor in order to write the names down of the pilots in the same flight for claim purposes. Yes I wear glasses and bifocals suck azz for reading on computers. Sorry if this isn't the place for it but couldn't find anything in the search.

Just a quick note for anyone that lives in and around Winnipeg Manitoba or who ever wants to take a drive. The Lancaster of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum is coming to Winnipeg in it's only Western Canada stop on the 3rd and 4th of August and leaves on the 5th at 1100hrsCST. Lucky me the airport is a quick 5 min drive from home.

What's your favorite WWI Movie?
TSmoke replied to Duce Lewis's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
My favorite WW1 flying movie is for most The Blue Max, but for the lowly infantry it is pretty much a tie between All Quiet On The Western Front ( Original) and the fairly new Passschendale. ( for the battle scenes). -
Intermediate DM 2.2 update available!
TSmoke replied to Herr Prop-Wasche's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Being curious but being computer stupid and I am sure I am not alone. Messing with stuff I know little or nothing about amounts to a kid sticking a fork into a wall socket to see what happens. Now if it were possible to have things like this made into a self insatller that install this and would backup our stuff I'm sure alot more would be willing to give it a whirl. Not knocking the effort it takes to do stuff that you do it's just being afraid to mess stuff up. So I guess I'll continue to sit on the fence, damn glad it isn't a picket fence. -
Just started the game up and went to view log/claims and had a peek. Mine are all there as they should be, wonder if there is a problem with whatever program that is used. I don't have a clue what they use be it notepad, word or whatever. I think that sounds like a good place to start, if one of the makers can tell you what program is used for the writing and saving the claim and log text. I'm a total dumbazz when it comes to computers but it sounds logical to me. My 2 cents.

Reason for screen name....
TSmoke replied to DukeIronHand's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Have been doing flight sims and such since 1982 on an Apple2 and everything else since. When I first started on-line in CFS2, I started in the Zeke. Well I sucked early on in multi-player and 99% of my planes had the ugly black trail of smoke behind it. So my label then was TrailinSmoke. So TSmoke is just a shortened up version. -
Hmmm hope you have an understanding wifey LOL because this sim is going to cut into her "quality" time hehehe. I'm lucky mine is working overnights, so I can play without her harping every five minutes. Have fun because this sim is absolutely fabulous!!! My favorite brit comedy show as well LOL.

There have been times when the times don't seem to jive for me as well. To blind to go DID but the mission review seemed to come up with different times, then I started to get pilot error messages after landing. I did the repair or reset thingy on the settings page, it erased all my pilots but seems to have fixed those errors for me. Don't take this a gospel because I don't know chit when it comes to computers, on button for comp and monitor is all I know. Gotta wait for the kid to come home on leave to reformatt for me.
