I just came from the short Saturday online session and I'd have to say it was the most fun I've had since the first day I played OFF. Sittingduck was an invaluable asset in getting me sorted out. Madmatt's excellent autoinstaller for all the files you need to play is a snap to use. I'm hoping more of you will try this out soon. Everyone was so helpfull that I actually felt very little pain when I did get shot down. Or perhaps I'm getting used to that happening regularly in OFF anyway? I thought the setup would be overwhelming, but it wasn't bad at all. I had a small problem with Teamspeak but I sorted that out and it was the only problem I encountered. Plus I got a $15 Turtle Beach headset from NewEgg.com that actually has some decent bass. Important since I have to turn off my 5.1 speakers for online play (this is what caused my echo in Teamspeak). If you feel the need for a different kind of OFF play, you've got to try this!

I've got a bit of an echo when testing my mic in teamspeak, anyone have any suggestions to get rid of it?

Thanks to sitting duck, Axgrinder and all who helped me get online and play today for the first time. That was quite stimulating! Truly about the most fun you can have with your clothes on! Looking forward to trying it again as much as possible to see if I remember the steps to take to get hooked up. I can see the disadvantage of not having TrackIr, I'll be saving my pennies to purchase one in the future.

I can't seem to log in to teamspeak with those settings. I get the error message: Bad Login (name and/or password wrong)

OK, I'm still confused on one thing. in your setup instructions you list 217.155.102.217:8767 as the IP for teamspeak, but what is the game IP?

There you go guys. Sounds like a good marketing strategy to sell more copies. Set up an Ebay store with the "Buy it now" price option. You'll keep most of your money as Ebay commission would be much smaller than selling to a retailer.

I'd order a dozen if I could read the order page! I'm pretty sure they aren't offering to ship to the USA. Anyone across the pond there that can get some of these, I'd gladly pay the price, shipping and something extra for your trouble.

Yes, possibly. I've never used this before and wasn't sure if it's normal. I think I'm set up now. All I need to do now is try to get online with you guys and test it out. Any test sessions coming up soon?

They'll have to remove the single player requirement of having to be constantly connected to their servers to get me to buy this software. I think the best thing to do is not buy this and maybe they'll see the loss in sales as an indicator that they will have to change this to sell more copies. They know how many simmers are out here and I'm sure their publisher has a certain number of expected sales figure in mind. When they don't meet this expected sales goal perhaps a change in the constantly connected requirement will be patched out. Until then I'll keep my money and hope others who feel the same way will too. If you buy it, even if you're just curious, it's like giving in to their way of thinking and letting them know that it's OK with you to allow a full on connection to russian servers just to play a single player mission. And what happens if they go out of business? Your stuck with software that no longer functions.......... period. It's a simple decision for me; I simply won't buy it until they remove the "constantly connected" requirement for single player mode.

Also, turn off auto-trim before warping. Very important.

This is cool! I just ordered a headset and a few new Cat5 cables to get my OFF computer hooked up to my modem. Hopefully I can get this all installed and look forward to trying this in about a week.

If all else fails, try swapping out your memory sticks. I had a similar problem a few monts ago and it turned out to be bad memory.

I also would love to get your .jpg's, could you zip them up and upload them please?

I would need a tutorial on how to do the multiplayer, as I have no idea what extra's (software and hardware) are needed besides the OFF program. Could anyone write one up, step by step?

I have an LG W2252TQ-TF 22" 1680 x 1050 widescreen 2ms LCD. It's very similar to the one on your first link. I have nothing but good things to say about this monitor, my favorite feature is the ability to easily switch from 16:10 aspect to the old 4:3 aspect for my old games that look too "stretched" on widescreen viewing. My only complaint is that it didn't come with a DVI cable. I had to spend another $8 after I opened up the box. I'm using your intermediate DM 1.6 and I find it just perfect. The installation as instructed was easy and flawless and it's easy to go back to normal or hardcore DM's to compare. I wouldn't change a thing about how it is written as it is now because it seems spot on between normal and hardcore. Isn't that what was intended? If people want easier to shoot down and be shot down, they can just go back to normal DM by running the normal DM file as provided by the devs, right? I hope you continue your efforts towards making the damage more visible because I experience significant control damage to my own aircraft but don't see anything on an exterior view of my aircraft except a very few bullet holes. If I can hardly control my craft I'd expect to see at least some fabric ripped away if not pieces missing. This mod is the best thing so far......... second only to my earlier tracer mod!

So you can't run this mission from within the OFF manager?

I crashed today and spent 18 days in the hospital. Ver 1.30c with the intermediate damage model by Herr Prop-Wasche and Fortiesboy. Some of your other complaints are valid, but what can be done about them? Who knows but the Devs. As long as were venting about things we don't like; my favorite dislike is the AI ability to fly in the clouds.

I'm using this and it seems just right to me. No more planes going down with just 1 or 2 hits like in the standard DM, and no more constantly pouring the rounds into enemy planes before they'll go down like in the hardcore DM. It's a painless installation and removal (just re-run one of the 2 DM files). Great job on this. It's a valuable contribution to the ongoing work on this title.

Well, I've played this mission several times and twice I've gotten to altitude and shot down both zepps. I've then joined in the fray with the scouts and shot down at least 8 of them on my way back to the airfield. There's a half dozen enemy scouts left when I suddenly get the "goals failed" message at top of the screen. Is there a time limit to landing back at home base?

I just installed your intermediate damage model 1.6 file and it seems like it's just right. Thanks for developing this. Yes, I'd also be interested in any improvements to the visual damage models as I see very little damage to any aircraft unless it's major. It would seem as hard as my aircraft is to control after taking some damage, I should be able to see more than just a few bullet holes.

Thanks! I for one am glad you put all the files needed into ONE download. I usually don't do add-ons because you simply can't find all the files you need easily. I'm so tired of searching to hell and back for an addon that goes with another addon and so forth. The owners of these files need to get over themselves and not be so picky about who includes their work while bringing to us a much better/complete version of an addon.

It seems that when I download your file there is no Gotha weapons only the file: off_zep_weapons.zip which contains the folders OFF_ZEP_100 off_zep_50 which my OFF installation already has. Are we supposed to overwrite the existing OFF folders with these of the same name? Are they in fact the files of the Gotha's weapons?
