Try the Spad VII in any campaign sortie at highest altitude setting in the workshop. Seems it's more pronounced with this fm.

Auto mixture or setting it manually, doesn't matter for me. Some planes come out of warp pointing almost straight down! Dev's, I suggest you look into this more and repair it please.

Rather than exit to QC to skip unwanted missions, why don't you just set your preference to advance the campaign manually in workshop. Then when you get a mission you don't want you can just advance to the next sortie or a full day if you want.
