I just built a new system. So new that I have not yet installed off on it. Would it help run off any better? Oops forgot trackir5 -

What do your landings look like ?
DonL replied to carrick58's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
One of my best pilots had survived multiple mid-air collisions and had survived being shot down a couple of times, had an especially good mission where he shot down 2 Alb D3's. On landing he was rolling down the field on his main gear and at about 10 mph tipped over on his nose and was killed. After all he had been through, to die in a low speed landing accident! I was broken hearted but yeah a few of my landings look like that. -
Different war but I though it was interesting. Be nice if they could restore it and put it in a museum. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1374818/Nazi-bomber-comes-deep-Dornier-shot-1940-coast-Kent.html

I am going to install jsgme and it says to install in the main folder. Is the main folder OBD software or is it the cfsww1 Over Flanders Fields folder? Thanks

My wife, glancing at the screen, advised that if it was a balloon it would be at a somewhat lower altitude. Oh yeah?! Watched 'Wings' through once and you know all about it do ya ... She was absolutely right, of course. Are you a newlywed? They are always right and they will be happy to remind you of it 5 years from now. Congrats on the balloon kill.

Ya gotta promise not to laugh.

Wow! nice job Typhoon. I'm thinking that I could modify that for my setup. What is the device on the left side, all that I have is a joystick and rudder pedals. Ruggbutt, please more details on your monitor (is it a tv?) I want one! Are those power cables? Do they connect directly to a nuclear reactor ? UK I eat loads of pizza more details on your setup please. I don't recommend doing a google search on Hotass Positioner!

I just installed these and they make a world of difference! A few weeks ago I upgraded my video card to a Sapphire Radeon 5850 and was slightly disappointed by its performance. Now all sliders are on 5 and OFF looks great! No jaggies either. WooHoo:drinks:

Dam to survive all of that and than die because of a hospital mistake, what a tragedy. I am short on reading material so I bought a copy from amazon. Thanks for the tip.

Happy birthday to you.

What started your WW1 aerial interest?
DonL replied to DukeIronHand's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Like Bullethead I love all eras of aviation, in fact all things that fly including birds, butterflies, balloons, Fokkers and Thunderbolts. I grew up in the landing pattern of the Willow Grove Naval Air Station and also the Johnsville NAS. I can remember watching c-119s (and all kinds of other aircraft) on final approach looking like they were going to fly through my living room window. Model building, books, airshows and museums have all fueled my passion for aviation history. As far as Off is concerned I was looking for something better than Red Baron 3d and I read about OFF in a magazine which is what got me hooked. -
I would also like to add my thanks and appreciation to this list. I have spent untold enjoyable hours (just ask my wife) out on patrol or joy riding around the French countryside. You guys have created a wonderful flight sim. Thanks again.

Can You Identify This WWI "Paperweight" ?
DonL replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Thats neat! Where on earth did you find that? -
Wow I hate to think of my system as low end but here it is. cpu Intel core 2 duo e8400 Wolfsdale 3.0 ghz Lga 775 not overclocked Memory was recently upgrade to 8 gigs corsair pc8500 gpu Sapphire ati radeon hd 4850 512mb monitor Asus mk241h 24" resolution is 1920 x 1200 Windows 7 64bit Sliders are 5 4 4 5 5 FOV Default medium object density Frames measured by fraps are between 40-60 I can run at all sliders at 5 but I get hesitation and white geometric patterns. I have purchased a new Sapphire ati radeon 5850 with 2 gigs of memory which I am hoping will cure these problems. I do have one interesting issue and that is before each game I have to go into workshop and make sure the slider settings are 54455 because they seem to reset themselves at 3 3 3 3 3. I am careful to set them and than exit using the file and exit commands rather than the X to exit. Hope this helps

Strange behaviour when leaving "Warp"
DonL replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I don't use trim but on rare occasion when exiting warp my Pup comes out in a nose high attitude but with very high speed ( I get the warning exceeding structural limits). I have also experienced being warped out to sea and extremely far behind enemy lines but these things happen very rarely. I also use auto mixture. I think that this is just a quirk of the game. -
The exact same thing happened to me. I was flying a campaign flying Sopwith Pups and my squadron transferred to Sutters Farm in England and I got the same error message. I enlisted a new pilot and started a new campaign.

Hello Olham, did you check the birdcage link? If I understood correctly these are the mines where they tunneled under the front lines and and buried tons of explosives to blow up huge gaps in the line. I know it would be difficult to defuse this but I cannot imagine that they would just leave this in place. Yes I play OFF in single player mode. By the way I enjoy your posts a lot. You have an ability to find some very interesting websites.

The Hannover CL.II and its rear guns
DonL replied to Hasse Wind's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
You wanna make it even tougher to shoot down a two seater? Their rear gunners always shred me, of course I suck at this game. It is one of my goals to climb into my Sopwith Pup and shoot down a DFW without getting clobbered myself!
