  1. "Kaiserschlacht!"

The craft in the foreground looks like an Albatros J.1. The mid-ground could be the Halberstadt Cl.II. The distant two could be Hannover Cl.II or Cl.IIIa.
  2. Version ViewUI.xml

    143 downloads

My modded ViewUI.xml presents a smaller "TAC" screen; and also softer, less loud colours of the "Labels" - they merge more with the sky and landscape. The file has to be placed here: [your computer name] > AppData > Roaming > Microsoft > CFSWW1 Over Flanders fields You don't need to back up the original file, because there is a "MasterCopy of ViewUI.xml", which you can always activate by deleting the "MasterCopy of". Enjoy!
  3. Sorry, I'm very tired, so I don't understand everything you want to do. But the stuff is to be changed in the file ViewUI.xml. You find it here: (your computer name) > AppData > Roaming > Microsoft > CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields You could try my mod of it; I made the TAC screen smaller, and the colours less "screaming". You find it here: http://combatace.com/topic/62903-smaller-tac-softer-label-colours/page__view__findpost__p__477745
  4. The tail booms seemed to have been thin steel tubes - they look really like that in this photo.
  5. Over at THE AERODROME is a thread about Koloman Mayrhofer building an Albatros D.II. Mayrhofer had already built an Austrian OeFFAG Albatros D.III. Damn, it's exciting to see, that we live in times, when they can rebuild these old aircraft in flying condition even (like the 2 Albatros at THE VINTAGE AVIATOR). http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/replica-aircraft/35610-albatros-d-ii-d-iii-news.html
  6. I guess those craft wouldn't get a license to fly anymore today. Takeoff and landing were pretty dangerous and slow. I only wonder, where the VINTAGE AVIATOR and Mayrhofer have found their engines?
  7. Don't think too much about it, Hasse Wind. You could say to yourself, that you know he won't survive the whole war - and then make the best of it. That's how I do it.
  8. Slightly OT but still amazing...

Made in Germany! Thanks for sharing, Slarti! Don't worry, Lou - the Africans don't throw anything on to the garbage.
  9. You're right, TaillyHo - he has managed to miss them for more than three months. You're a lucky blighter, Wayfarer!
  10. Yeah, indeed - the way we're wasting lives... For the mods, I can highly recommend Bletchley's mods for the various parts of the war. You need to get the free Jones Generic Mod Enabler to use them; then follow Bletchley's instructions (see the download section). You must only remember, if you have more than one pilot, to switch on and off the right mod for the time period.
  11. I know, and it's strange - the D.II was a revolution for German fighter development, but we always only see the D.III and the D.V variants. Well, they are prettier...
  12. Hurricane Irene

Damn, Shiloh, that was a close one. Masses of water can tear everything down on their way. Good you were warned early enough!
  13. Pilot Pics in Dossier

Mike, the path cptroyce showed is correct (if your sim is installed there), but his method won't work that easily. You will have to give the pilot pics their new numbers by hand. Look into your ingame pilot log; there you see which No. the current pilot pic is. Now select a pic of your choice to replace it. Back the original pic up by adding "backup" behind the file name. (You can always reactivate the pic by deleting "backup" again). Then give your desired pic that number, and save it. Now you should be right.
  14. Hurricane Irene

Just saw the late news, with a report from New York. All the best to you over the pond!
  15. Yeah, I can feel that with you. I hope for him, that when the Eindeckers and Rolands come, they won't send him out alone anymore.
  16. Mighty, I don't mean to say, that he is always heavy on my shoulders. I am always "high", when we have finished a patrol or even a scrap, and my wingmen are still all with me. A feeling of a good achievement. Slarti, without any kidding, honestly: carry on flying like that; fly like a wild rover; a mad devil; try to win the war single handedly. That is exactly what I did in the first 1 1/2 years in OFF. And I am sure, it was the ONLY way for me to get to where I'm now: flying in a more serious way; trying to explore how it might have been in real life; being content with smaller achieve- ments, like bringing everybody back to our field in one piece. Sooner or later you may have enough of this "style", and only then are you really ready for trying it the other way. Until then: have fun, enjoy it!
  17. Why am I dying?

"Vott iss obvious? Vatt iss visibel?? Are you sayink - I can die???"
  18. Why am I dying?

There is a solution, although it may not appear simple: cycle through your rebirths, until you have learnt your lesson. It is not a good idea to ignore someone with twin Spandaus in your neck, Hauksbee.
  19. extreme flightsim

This is strange - after leaving the forum and now being back again, the video works. Thanks again, Wombat.
  20. Many pics are made at the south-eastern front - maybe something for you, Lou! http://www.rareaviationphotos.com/
  21. extreme flightsim

Thank you, Wombat - I have taken back all restrictions in AddBlocker, but it seems I have done something else. I have created a filter somewhere, and I still can't get the video. Next time I'll be more careful.
  22. This looks as if the Fokker shot it off - but it was only an accident. http://www.youtube.c.../19/3ApowyEXSXM .
  23. extreme flightsim

Hey, Widow, old chap - welcome back (from Paris?)! Damn, I wanted to block the advert in that link, but now I have blocked the whole video - does anyone know how to "unblock" it again? (Mozilla + AddBlocker)?
