  1. I have now also added a facemask to the British pilot cap - his is more brown, as the original file was. The Hun cap was wrong in size before - please use the new one. May take a little to get the approval from the admins. You will find a zipped folder. Unzip it and then move the two Pilotcap files here: (your OFF folder) > aircraft > shared Please make yourself a backup of the two original files first.
  2. Read the description I wrote with the uploaded file, elephant.
  3. Xmas Wish List

No one had heard the CO coming in. "Pilots?! I am very sorry to disturb you, but could you - just for the time of the briefing - postpone your wildest dreams for after dinner? Or better even: for after this war?" The briefing doesn't take too long. Ten the CO walks back over to his office, murmuring: "An extremely large and diverse live-in household staff of nubile, compliant young woman! Tch!!! - ... although...?"
  4. Welcome to the OFF Forum, huginn! As a release date for P4 is not even slightly hinted by the devs, I have the personal impression, that it will not come out before autumn - rather later. So it depends on how keen you are on getting into your flying gear. With BHaH plus HitR, you would get a very great WW1 air combat sim; it's immersion in the Campaigns is said even by the users of "the other sim" to be unreached. I don't get anything from OBD for writing this "commercial"; it is pure enthusiasm. So, if it was me who had the dream and the money (not that much really), I wouldn't even wait a single day. So great is it.
  5. We had such a poll before, but some time ago. Some may have upgraded the systems meanwhile. So here are some questions again. They will show us, where we OFF Flyers stand right now. This may be useful for everyone to see, if he is up to date or should perhaps upgrade soon. Maybe also interesting for the devs to see. The small "x" in type numbers mean, that there are various products with different numbers, but on similar level. PLEASE ALSO CHECK YOUR PERFORMANCE INDICATOR Right-click on your computer icon on the desctop, and click on "Properties" in the menue. There are numbers for the various parts of your system, and a blue highlighted number. Please write this number into your posts. (This poll was made with the help of my good friend and "my computer-specialist" Roland- Thank you, "Indy")
  6. gaw, there have really been lamb skin face masks with the wool inside. Outside they were black or brown leather - and yes, they did look frightening! Here's a brown one:
  7. Cripes - yes, you're right; this time I jumped around too fast and didn't see one important part of the craft didn't have the colours for Jasta 28w, which would have been yellow with black stripes. Serves me right!
  8. 1.Max Ritter von Mueller, Albatros D.III (early) 2.Jasta 28w, 1917 3. He was a chauffeur for the Bavarian War Minister This is from The Aerodrome: While chauffeur to the Bavarian War Minister, Müller's constant request for a transfer to the Air Service was eventually approved. As Jasta Boelcke's acting commander, he attempted to shoot down an R.E.8 when he was attacked from behind by Robert Chidlaw-Roberts and Frank Soden of 60 Squadron. Müller was killed in action and fell from his Albatros D.V (5405/17) as it went down in flames near Moorslede.
  9. Do you know an airfield which you like very much? Or do you have a special nice screenshot from an airfield? It can be a picture with your grounded aircraft, or a start or landing approach - however you want to present it. Here is mine: Phalempin airfield, home of Ernst Udet's Jasta 37 in September 1917
  10. Xmas Wish List

I didn't say I liked her films - I like her - ahm - charisma. But thanks for the tip; I'll watch out for it.
  11. Selfexplaining question, I think. Remember, the Poll is anonymous.
  12. No problem, Lou, I was never one of THOSE Germans. I actually regard that certain German behaviour about the beer and the "Reinheitsgebot" very stupid. The hold high, that they brew like the old masters, with nothing but hops, malt and water - and then they add carbon dioxyde to make it sparkling! I have been to England several times, and I must say, that they have many more small private breweries there, and that I like it, when they just pull the pint from the barrel in the cellar by using low- pressure, instead of driving carbon dioxyde. And I prefer the temperature being "cellar-cooled" instead of the chilled German ways. Don't get me wrong - I also liked many German beers. But we are not the only ones who brew good ones, surely! A pity I never learned to know O'Hara's Irish Red, before I quit that hobby. Sigh! For Widowmaker: http://combatace.com/files/file/12000-pilot-cap-hun-1916-1917/ Don't panik, Hasse Wind! Not from my hand! I feel honoured, elephant ! You really have that job, no joke?
  13. Siemens-Schuckert D.III or D.IV, any time, mighty - no question! Pol, Winder, Shredder - can you give the guys a vague release date, perchance? They are all getting nuts around here!
  14. Geeze, Lou - they are all taller than we are now? Time flies when you're having toast! No, I meant the 9. book from the left - it looks a bit like my original from K. F. Kurt Jentsch "Beim Jagdflug verunglückt?" In the case that you don't have "Malaula! The Battlecry of Jasta 17" - that is a read I highly recommend. Translated into English, and edited by Norman Franks.
  15. Aw, come on, you Camel jockey - even though you're flying on the other side of the mud mostly - come and join me for a couple of virtual Andechser Doppelbock - that will wash that "Herr" of yer tongue in the tastiest way. Or rather: you will forget about the word completely, You may even forget which side of the mud you had to walk back to.
  16. Aaaaahhhh! Your WW1 library section! Lots of great stuff, I see! Not much space, but that may even enhance the crammed cockpit feeling. That grey-blue title with the golden printing in the second shelf left side looks like a German title - well, maybe not; you wouldn't get far with it, I suppose. The three kids I guess are yours? I bet they add some real joy to your life. Well, and that uniform is a top-notch exihibition piece surely, even without all those fine medals. Capitaine Vengeur - look at this uniform!
  17. I have uploaded the file now; it should be available soon. You find it in "Downloads" in the "Mods..." section. Enjoy!
  18. Version

    85 downloads

This file will make your pilot wear a face mask and better goggles. It does distort a bit strangely in parts, but it works okay. You need to unzip it and put the two files from the folder here: (your sim folder) > aircraft > shared Best is to save the original files "PilotcapBrit1916-17.dds" and "PilotcapHun1916-17.dds" first. Enjoy!
  19. Only last night I saw a late TV program about what art is and how it came up. It was highly philosophical, and a major statement was, that mankind seems to prefe the way art transforms reality into something even "realler" for us human beings. That IMHO is exactly what "Over Flanders Fields" does. A fine Work of Art.
  20. Hihihi! Lou, I am beginning to wonder, if you and your family may be sitting on mess benches (original! A real bargain at Ebay!!) when you eat together in the dining room or kitchen.
  21. Uuuuhhh - now I can admit, that my next attempt would have also been wrong. I only went after the face in the pic, and thought he might be Luigi Olivi. Congrats, Dej!
  22. Oh, very nice!

I could only help you, if you'd use Photoshop. But I see, Lou offered help already. Thanks, Duke - have fun with it!
  23. I saw Shredward posting somewhere near recently, that he had a lot of work with P4. From a rather non-wordy type of person that was a very promising post - seems the campaigns will get even more depth.
  24. Anyone in the area around Amiens? I once had a short Camel campaign, and was flying from a very beautifully situated airfield there. I remember it like Shire from "Lord of the Rings"; but perhaps that was rather my then still very new enthusiasm with OFF?
