  1. Cobra, perhaps the resolution is still set wrong or even disabled. Please follow this guide: Go to: "WORKSHOP" > "Graphics Config" > there click on "File" (top left corner) > "Change display options" and make sure you picked the right resolution there Then leave that; and click on "File" again. Then "Change custom settings" (ignore pop-up warning) There click on "Window" (top left corner); then on "Overrides" Make sure, that the resolution of your screen is not disabled there. (You may disable the others though). I have always got kicked out back to the briefing window, when my resolution had (for some miraculous reason) changed to 800 x 600 again. I had to set it back in the Graphics Config (as described above), and then the sim would let me in. I hope it's this reason, and you can get it running.
  2. OFF salute

Hollywood at it's early best - impressive to see so many Fokker and S.E.5 in air combat.
  3. OT Anyone know about FSX Skinning?

Using the same as Matt; and I don't know, if any other program might be better, but DXTBmp is doing the job fine. I can open a Photoshop work with many layers, and transform it into a .dds file.
  4. Okay, now have seen the Verdun area with the map overlay. But the overlay was not transparent? Problem on my rig / graphic settings? I saw there are many photographs, one was especially impressive to me: a gun tower inside of Fort Douaumont, which I think was totally ploughed by artillery (if I remember that right - think I saw an aerial photo).
  5. OT Wrong War, but....

Wow, what a great source, Flyby! Thank you for sharing!
  6. Couldn't resist and looked into some, like Fort Surale - but I don't get overlayed old photographs. What am I doing wrong? (I get the positions marked by stars and names; but only the nowadays sat pic).
  7. AA and enemy AI

No, they hit me very rarely too. Check your settings for ground fire in "Workshop" - perhaps it's on "easy" or such?
  8. Cobra, I wish you success soon - it will be the biggest reward to be able to fly OFF. (Since I found OFF, I stopped flying IL2). Do we have you on the OFF Pilots Maps already? If not, please send me a PM with your town and country, and I'll add you.
  9. Thanks for the link and tip. I'll try that out later this evening - have some work to do first.
  10. An Aero History of WW I

Oh, all the books one would love to read! Congrats, jlan5031. I was so lucky to find a copy of Theo Osterkamp's "Du oder ich" and ordered it - not here yet. I'm hoping to find something about him flying the Fokker E.V perhaps.
  11. Yes, I did exactly that in Photoshop. I made the top picture 50 % transparent to place it over the other, to check if I really had the same part of town. That's fun indeed. And as I said - satelite pics of winter acres are much better; you might still see the old trench lines.
  12. File Name: OFF Map Rabu & Olham - Parts 1 - 4 File Submitter: Olham File Submitted: 07 October 2010 File Category: Maps, Missions, and Campaigns This is the OFF Map as painted in parts by Rabu. I have "glued" the parts together and placed the airfield names right besides the airfield locations in the map. Then I divided the map into four parts, each small enough to fit on a normal letter size paper from your printer. The four parts are "NW", "NE", "SW" and "SE". INSTRUCTION 1. Print out the four parts and let them dry. Cut them out and place them so, that they make sense. 2. Now glue the parts "NW" and "NE" together. There is a 5 mm strip on Part "NE", appearing brighter. Put some glue on the rear right edge of Part "NW" and glue that part onto the bright strip of Part "NE". 3. Then glue the parts "SW" and "SE" together the same way. 4. At last, glue northern half onto southern half of the map. Southern half has again that bright strip to fix northern part on to. (God, all my life I wanted to write such an instruction!) 13. The RABU & OLHAM map parts are uploaded now. (Well, maybe it takes some time to get them checked by the admins). They are 4 equally sized parts with 200 dpi. You can print them out and glue them together. Enjoy!

  15. OFF Forum Pilots Maps

Update October 7, 2010; 12:24 h Berlin summertime (= GMT + 2) Moritz, Missouri, added. All the maps are in post 1 of this thread
  16. Cobra, make sure you install OFF exactly following the advice in the website: http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm
  17. Flying in the Midday Sun Patrol over Tellancourt Some time ago, I asked: which is your most beautiful airfield? I have found a new one today - Tellancourt. Lying on a plateau, embedded in gentle hills; the view over the landscape is just great!
  18. Yes, Habsheim is also very pretty! I have had a pilot there, and each time I saw the meandering river, I new I was home.
  19. Well, that's easy for you, Lou - but maybe other users don't know how to do that? On the other hand, I can't make 13 maps - a single map is quite large already; not to speak of 13 ! Perhpas we need to deliver them with 13 front line pics, and a guide how to overlay that? Don't know. It's like so often in life: you start something with great enthusiasm, and the more you get into it, the more you collide with harsh realities, which make it almost impossible.
  20. Thanks, Stratos - the skin is much like the other Jasta 21 skins; they are mostly clear varnished plywood fuselages with a green back and nose. Only Eduard Ritter von Schleich has the sides and undersides in sky blue. They carry a black & white band, and personal emblems in black & white. One of the few Jasta, that kept the "hunchback" on the D.V for some time. The Staffel works well together, and I enjoy the lovely terrain - especially in July 1917.
  21. You may need to go to "Workshop", there to Graphics Config; then to "Change display options". There set your screen resolution up right. Then it might work.
  22. Hey, Siggi! Great to see you here again. Must I read that whole text, to get the joke?
  23. You are touching a problem there, 77Scout - I am thinking of making 4 variations of the map, with the front line included. But where do I get the exact front lines?
  24. Sure is! Here are two map links, which show several German airfields. http://lt1.mcmaster....&map_id=88 http://lt1.mcmaster....map_id=317 Zoom in, and enjoy!
